"What are you doing now, Magia?" Aegis sounds so exasperated right now.
"Well, Aegis, right now I am people watching." Or more specifically watching a single person.
"People watching?" Aegis asks slowly.
"You know, observing the mass of humanity. Come on, join me." He motions for Aegis to join him sitting on the edge of the rooftop. Aegis sits down hesitantly.
"Why are you doing this?" Aegis asks slowly and hesitantly like he doesn't want to be here.
"Comparison is the thief of joy. Or so it is said. And yet look at what I am doing." He points to the training field in general.
"I'm sorry? What are you talking about?" Aegis sounds so very confused. Wonderful, exactly what he needs to deal with right now. After him and now dealing with Aegis when he is like this? He barely stops himself from a releasing a sigh and instead chooses to face Aegis.
"Aegis." He says simply.
"Yes, Magia?" Aegis sounds almost concerned and maybe a little scared.
"Do you see that man?" He asks. Perhaps now Aegis has heard about him by reputation or maybe seen him in person. He loves Aegis so much but he is really out of the loop when it comes to gossip.
"What man?" Oh great.
"That one," he says pointing to a man about their age with silver hair and heterochromia eyes.
"Oh you mean Yozora?" Yozora? That's his name? ...How fitting.
"That's his name?" He wants confirmation. And that way when they meet again, he will-
"What are you planning?" Aegis narrows his tone in suspicion.
"Nothing too bad. No need to worry about it." He waves off Aegis's concern. He doesn't need it and all Aegis would do is make things more complicated.
"Magia, no." Aegis says firmly.
"But-" He tries protesting.
"No." Aegis repeats firmly.
"Ugh, fine." He knows there is no way he'll be able to convince Aegis of his great plan. Too outside of Aegis's comfort zone. Unfortunately. He would have had fun, a rarity these days.
"Really?" Aegis frowns. Doesn't believe that he would give up that easily. And he's right. He just has to try Plan B.
"No reason to do so." He lies smoothly and Aegis's frown deepens.
"Magia." He makes direct eye contract with Aegis when Aegis doesn't continue.
"Yes, Aegis?" Aegis hesitates before continuing on with what he wanted to say.
"Don't lie to me, please," He raises his eyebrows in surprise, "I can tell when you are lying. Don't. And whatever you are thinking of that involves Yozora, stop it."
That is said with such tone and emotion that he is afraid to see what would happen if he chose not to follow the order spoken inside of those words. Instead of answering, he turns back to facing the training yard. But this time, he can't find Yozora so instead he sighs and looks around at the other people and is disappointed. One of the people managed to implant himself on his sword. Truly so insignificant and dull compared to Yozora. Behind him, he hears suddenly stand up and he turns around.
He looks and immediately stands up in a panic. Heading towards them is Yozora, the person he has been stalking-watching for weeks now. Just innocent watching, no stalking involved here. None at all.
"Commander." Aegis acknowledges Yozora. He can't even talk right now, his throat feels so dry. He just hopes that right now Yozora doesn't talk to him, doesn't even acknowledge him right now. He would die if Yozora-
"Aegis," Oh, his voice. So beautiful and velvety. Wait, back up. He knows Aegis? "Who is your companion?" Oh, umm. Now he has to talk to him, to Yozora. Unless Aegis does it. But the gods aren't kind enough to allow that to happen.
"Umm." His voice cracks. Yozora is just staring at him and Aegis isn't helping. "C-Commander." He says though his voice cracks horribly when he first speaks.
"At ease." Yozora says unemotionally, cold, distant. He tries his best to relax once he realizes how tense he is. Yozora just seems to examine him and then turns on his heel and walks away. When he passes Aegis he says, "This one seems to acting unusually. Make sure he gets the proper medical care." He flushes even more after hearing that. Then it is just him and Aegis in silence and they head back to their apartment in the compound.
