The night was calm and the sky above Anaheim, California sparkled with stars. However, not everyone was having a peaceful rest. Wildwing, captain of the Mighty Ducks Hockey Team, was tossing and turning in his sleep. It was the night the team won the Western Conference and he was having the strangest dream he ever had.

"Ginger! Go left!"

"Get to the side, Max!"

"DuCaine! Hurry!" So many voices shouting at each other. The sound of skates on the ice and puck blasters being fired.

"It's over, DuCaine! You've lost!"

"No, you have, Saurian Scum!"

Wildwing woke up with a slight scream and sat up to look around his room that he shared with his baby brother, Nosedive. Nosedive snorted and his eyes fluttered open, he sat up quickly and turned to his jolted big brother.

"Huhgh—Wildwing? What's with the screaming?" He looked around quickly, "Are we under attack!?"

"No, no. I…I think I just had a bad dream…" Wildwing said, holding his forehead. That's when he quickly looked to see if the mask of DuCaine was still there. It was and Wildwing sighed with relief.

"It must have been one wicked nightmare if it made you scream like that." Nosedive rubbed his eyes, "You wanna talk about it?" He inquired

Wildwing was going to say everything was fine and they didn't need to talk about it, but looking at his brother's face, he sighed in defeat. "There was a battle going on…I couldn't see very clearly, but I heard voices. And one of them said the name…" Wildwing's eyes widened when he remembered the last name being called. "…DuCaine." He finished saying.

Nosedive's jaw dropped. He untangled himself from his plush bedcovers and sat upright, "Did you just say DuCaine!?" Nosedive had a frenzied look in his eyes. "As in THE Drake DuCaine!?" He blinked and put one hand under his chin, "Wait, how do we know if this is legit and not some cough syrup hay fever?" He quirked an eyebrow

Wildwing sighed. "I don't know…but it seemed pretty real. But who were 'Ginger' and 'Max'?" Wildwing thought out loud, recalling the other names that were called out in the dream.

"Ginger and Max?" Nosedive furrowed his brows. "Hmm, that sounds familiar." He scratched his head. "I've heard a lot of different versions of Drake DuCaine's story, and I think one of them mentioned a Max…?"

"I don't know, Dive. It was probably nothing. Let's get back to bed." Wildwing suggested, going back under the covers of his bed. Nosedive wanted to add more to this, but decided not to push it. The younger duck cozied back into the comfort of his bed, relishing the lush alabaster pillow. While he tried to sleep, Nosedive's mind continued to wrack with the many iterations he's heard about DuCaine's tale. It was familiar yet lost on him. Wildwing, on the other hand, struggled to fall back asleep. The dream had bothered him more than he thought. Was it really nothing or…did that dream mean something?

Beneath of the waves, sat an alien space ship that was barely operational to fly. It was all quiet on the outside, but inside the ship was another story. Drones were working to get the ship out of the ocean and fly again but with the proper power source and the engine busted, it couldn't even move an inch. Dragaunus stared up at the boring sheen of what made their power source.

He turned to Seige, "Have you any idea when this could be up and running again?"

The orange saurian scratched his chin, "Well, My Lord, after the number the ducks brought on us…" he paused to look over more of the power source. He grimaced, "…I hate to say it but…" He steeled himself as he spoke "…it's gonna be another week." Tremors flitted through him at the impending tantrum.

"I tried to warn you before, My Lord. The Dark Magic of our Saurian ancestors was the only way to prevail against those ducks." Wraith tried to reason with Dragaunus. The Saurian Overlord was about to yell at his oldest ally, but something stopped him. That was something was a miniature dimensional gateway opening behind him. The Saurians looked to see someone walking out of the gateway. The person was a young man, looking around the age of 25. He had spiky magenta colored hair and black-rimmed glasses over his bright orange colored eyes. His outfit was a simple one, it looked more like business attire with the main color being a strong red color and the tie and shoes being black. The man adjusted his suit and himself before looking at the three Saurians as the gateway behind him closed.

"Please excuse my interruptions, but you three are Saurians, are you not?" He asked. The fire cracker that once was about to go off in the Saurian Overlord was doused. He turned his attention to the young man before him, caution screaming to him.

"It's a little rude to enter someone's home uninvited?" Dragaunus' eyes narrowed.

"I completely understand." The man said. "Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Ryan Blaze, and I am here on behalf of my employer's request to help you."

"Help us?" Siege repeated.

"And how can you possibly help us, boy?" Wraith asked, very suspicious of this individual.

"Simple. My employer and I wish to help you destroy these…Mighty Ducks. And help you we will." Ryan replied.

A small smile curled up Dragaunus' face. "Destroy the ducks you say?" He relaxed his posture. "Do continue"

"My lord—as I call him—has a plan. And the end result? Those ducks being destroyed." Ryan simply stated.

"What business does he have with me?" Dragaunus questioned. "How am I to help gain what we both would want?"

"That's simple. We will combine our forces…" As Ryan was saying this, some water dripped down and landed on his shoulder, but when it hit his shoulder, it fizzed and evaporated. Ryan had paused himself because that happened. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and exhaled before continuing while dusting off his shoulder where the water evaporated. "…We will combine our forces to create an even greater one. One that can conquer the universe with ease." He finished. The other saurians noted the way the water became nothing but molecules.

Dragaunus tapped a claw to his chin. "Hmm, very tempting. First, I'd like to assess what your army is capable of, do you mind?"

"Not in the slightest." Ryan replied. He snapped his fingers and behind him on the floor appeared a circle with ancient runes on it. Emerging from the circle was a knight with a lance, shield, and armor all set ablaze. It stood next to Ryan and kneeled before Dragaunus. "This is called a Rune Soldier, it is one of fire magic, and it is completely under my command, for I had summoned it." Ryan explained before looking at the Saurians. "And I am able to summon at least one hundred of these creations at a time."

Dragaunus eyed the soldier, he circled it, he nodded with a smirk. "Very well, let's continue this as assessment by giving your Rune Soldier a test drive" he continued, "alongside my own drone of course." Wraith looked at the fiery knight with approval, as weary as he was with the stranger, he seemed familiar with magics much like the ancients.

"Very well, Lord Dragaunus." Ryan said and looked at his Rune Soldier and it stood back up as one of Dragaunus' drones came up and fired a laser. The Rune Soldier quickly acted and blocked with his shield and moved in close and thrusted its lance into the chest of the Drone. It pulled back its weapon and cut off the drone's head easily. The Rune Soldier then stood up straight and froze like a suit of armor. "Since the soldier no longer has a target, it sees no more reason to fight and goes into a state of stasis." Ryan explained. "My Rune Soldiers are more than capable, I assure you."

"I believe so." Dragaunus uttered, he couldn't fight the wide smirk that sprawled across his face. "This could finally mean the end of those pesky mallards!" Dragaunus didn't stifle a chuckle, "You can tell your lord we have a deal."

"Of course, I'll let him know as soon as the attack is completed." Ryan said.

"Attack?" Singer asked.

"I plan on attacking the Pond, the Mighty Ducks' headquarters, tonight. I will destroy the ducks and then burn their home to the ground." Ryan answered. "Care to join?" He asked Siege.

Siege grinned wickedly. "I'm always up for a chance to pound those ducks." His tail lashed about. Dragaunus was pleased by this, a chance to finally have triumph, the mere taste on his tongue, he would savor this as much as the remains of the ducks.

"Let us leave at once." Ryan stated.

Wildwing was up and grabbing a glass of water after finding it so hard to fall back asleep. Wildwing rubbed his eyes and set down his glass of water.

"What's going on? Why does that dream bother me so much?" He asked himself out loud. That's when there was a loud banging sound outside and the alarms around the base started going off, waking everyone up. Nosedive, Malory, Duke, Tanya and Grin made their way to the living quarters.

"Once again my beauty sleep eludes me!" Nosedive complained, Wildwing turned his attention to the gang, alert washing over him.

Tanya was checking her com to drake one, "Sumthins tryin ta get down here! And it's workin' fast!"

Wildwing grabbed the Mask and immediately got ready for action. "Suit up, ducks! We don't know who or what's out there!" Everyone suited up in their battle armor and grabbed their weapons.

Outside, Siege and Dragaunus' Drones were using a giant drill in the parking lot of the Pond to dig their way into the headquarters of the Mighty Ducks. Meanwhile, Ryan watched from the sides, checking his watch.

"This is taking far too long." Ryan muttered before turning to Siege. "You think this will bring them out?" He asked the orange Saurian.

"Those paranoid feathered freaks will have to come out." Siege sneered at the destruction to the base being made, "Unless they want their HQ in pieces"

"Fair enough statement." Ryan said, looking at his watch again. Just as Ryan looked up, the Mighty Ducks were coming out, blasting the Drones to pieces, and luckily the drill stopped so no more damage could be done to the base.

"Well now," Ryan looked at Siege and said this. "I guess you're not all brute strength after all. You do have SOME brain."

Siege growled at Ryan, who was unfazed by him. "Why I outta…!"

"Let's focus. Please." Ryan said with an eye roll to Siege and took a few steps towards the ducks. "So you are the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim." Ryan looked at all of them one at a time and then looked at Wildwing last and said, "I am underwhelmed, truly." He stated.

Nosedive gaped. "Clearly, you've never been to our games!"

"And if we're so underwhelming then why come all this way?" Duke questioned. The ducks eyed the strange man, they've come across many bizarre enemies but this one had a particular aura to him.

Ryan chuckled slightly. "I admit it, I have not seen you in action, no. But at a glance of all you, you're underwhelming because you have no true experience of battle. You've never been in true combat where your lives are on the line. In simpler terms, you're all beneath me."

"Cut the smart talk! Why are you here?" Wildwing demanded. However, Ryan didn't answer. He simply snapped his fingers and 25 rune circles opened behind him, summoning fire Rune Soldiers, all armed and ready to fight.

"So Dragaunus thinks a few more tin-cans can stop us?" Duke said, taking out his sword.

"I don't think these are any ordinary bots, Duke." Tanya responded.

"Now would be a good time to use that mask, big bro!" Nosedive said to Wildwing. Wildwing immediately used the Mask but what he saw shocked him.

"What do you see? What are they made of?" Mallory asked, aiming her Puck Blaster.

"They're…They're just armor! Like…suits of armor that are alive!" Wildwing responded and described.

"You forgot that they're on fire, bro!" Nosedive added, getting slightly nervous.

"Soldiers! Your orders are these: fight the five ducks that aren't wearing the Mask. He's mine to kill. Charge!" Ryan shouted passionately and on cue, the soldiers charged at their opponents. Mallory fired a few pucks at the soldier coming toward her, but the pucks bounced off with smoke. The soldier charged toward her and Mallory sidestepped it's lance, but only barley. Mallory hissed as the heated lance skidded past her unguarded arm. Mallory tried her best to evade more as the soldier turned toward her again. Duke parried a soldier's lance, but it was brought down hard, knocking Duke off his footing and he was pushed back. Duke's sword flying out of his hand and clattering to the ground.

Nosedive repeatedly shot at two oncoming knights. unfortunately like Mallorys the pucks bounced off with a singe, barely making a dent. Nosedive backed away and tried aiming for anywhere else that could be a particular weak point, so far, zilch. Grin and Tanya were back to back as they fought soldiers that were circling them in a tight circle and keeping them from going anywhere.

Wildwing tried to go and help his friends but he felt Ryan's fist make contact with his face. Wildwing stumbled but got ready to fight back. Ryan smiled slightly as his fist were on fire. Literally, his hands were on fire and burning brightly. Ryan threw a right hook to Wildwing's stomach, but the captain dodged it in time. Only from Ryan to sweep him off his feet with a low kick to send Wildwing to the ground. Wildwing rolled out of the way just as a kick came his way, he got back to his feet, opting to use his puck blaster as he figured he couldn't touch his opponent.

Ryan smirked. "What's wrong, captain? Afraid of getting burnt?" Ryan walked toward Wildwing as he said that.

"I'm not afraid of you." Wildwing said before firing his Puck Blaster. Ryan threw a fireball at the fired puck and they collided in a small explosion.

"Well you should be…" Ryan said, walking through the smoke. "…Because I will be killing you."

Wildwings heart palpitated, he never thought he'd see such glean of bloodlust on any of his opponents, except for…Dragaunus. But this was more extreme.

But he was the team captain and he couldn't just give up. Wildwing was about to fire again while Ryan was about to throw another fireball. However just as they both were about to attack, something above them opened. It was another dimensional gateway. Wildwing and Ryan both saw someone falling through the gateway and both jumped back when the person fell through and hit the ground. Wildwing looked and his eyes widened with shock. He was frozen with surprise. Lying on the ground before, unconscious and almost looking like they were in pain, was Canard Thunderbeak, his best friend.

"Canard…?" Wildwing momentarily forgot about the battle and Ryan as he rushed to his best friend's aid. Canard looked bruised and beaten but was still breathing. "Canard…Canard, wake up! Say something!" Wildwing shook his friend but the most he could get out of Canard was a groan of pain.

Ryan seemed to be patiently waiting as Wildwing was by Canard's side. Siege, on the other hand, wasn't. He was sick of being left out of a fight. Siege charged at the two ducks. He wasn't gonna let Ryan's strange bound of honor stop him from getting in on the action, Wildwing saw Siege coming his way. Mallory, managing to escape a knight, fired at Siege's knees, sending him to a stop. Siege stiffened but shook off the blast, "You think that'll stop me?"

Mallory fired at Siege again, but a soldier blocked her shot with his shield. The soldier was about to strike down on Mallory but suddenly stopped and froze in its statue position. All the Rune Soldiers did before circles appeared underneath them and made them disappear. The ducks looked to see it was Ryan who called back his soldiers.

Siege was beyond furious. "What are you doing?! We have them right where we want them!"

"We're leaving." Ryan said before turning around and starting to walk away.

"What?! Are you spineless or something?!" Siege yelled towards Ryan. Ryan stopped walking. There was deadly silence before Ryan walked back towards Siege at a faster pace than before, grabbed Siege by his neck and lifted him up and looked at the Saurian with eyes filled with flames of anger. "YOU WANNA CALL ME SPINELESS AGAIN?! I'LL RIP YOUR TAIL OFF, BEAT YOU WITH IT, AND THEN BURN YOUR BODY IN GLORIOUS FLAMES THAT WILL BE SEEN BY THE HEAVENS! AND YOU KNOW WHAT THE BEST PART OF THAT IS?! NO ONE'S GONNA MISS YOU WHEN YOU'RE GONE! SO! YOU WANNA CALL ME SPINELESS AGAIN?! HUH?! DO YOU?!"

Siege gritted his teeth, "Then what will you say to your employer, huh?! What will you say to Lord Dragaunus?" He grunted out, he did tremble as he could feel his temperature rise. Ryan suddenly dropped Siege and looked at the Saurian.

"Do not worry. Everything will be fine." Ryan assured Siege with a dangerous shine in his eyes. "Now get us back." Ryan ordered Siege. Siege didn't like to be told what to do but didn't like the look in Ryan's eyes. He took out his teleporter and had them teleport back to the Raptor. As they disappeared, the ducks were stunned by what they just saw and were confused as well.

"What just happened…?" Was all Mallory managed to ask.

"I don't know, but…let's get Canard inside." Wildwing said helping up his best friend and trying to shake off the weird encounter that just happened.

They headed for the infirmary and Tanya began running a diagnostics check. "Gosh, he's sure been banged up." She said as she wrapped up his left arm in bandages, the screen above showing Canard to be in stable condition, but not great.

Wildwing gazed upon his friend somberly. It wasn't Chameleon in disguise this time, he knew it. His best friend had come "home". Wildwing looked at Tanya. "When do you think he'll wake up?"

"I'm not sure. He might be out of it for, you know, awhile." Tanya admitted.

"Hey, come on. Let's all get back to bed." Duke suggested. "It's been one heck of a night."

"You can say that again." Grin agreed. The ducks started leaving to go back to bed when Nosedive noticed Wildwing wasn't coming.

"Not feeling sleepy?" Nosedive put a hand to his older brother's shoulder.

"I just…" Wildwing paused and took a deep breath and exhaled, "I can't believe my best buddy is here…and can you really blame me? With what I saw during the trip to get here? The deceit chameleon pulled…"

Nosedive shook his head, "I can't blame you, you should be happy he's here with us." He chuckled "Boy, Canards got a lot to tell us when he wakes up."

"Ain't that the truth." Wildwing agreed.

Nosedive took his older brother by the shoulder and guided out of the infirmary to let Canard get some rest.

Siege and Ryan had appeared back at the Raptor. Ryan gladly gave the report of what happened during the fight. However, Dragaunus wasn't pleased in the slightest. Slithers of smoke arose from his nostrils, his claws digging into the armrest. "You mean to tell me, you forfeited your fight with the ducks. Right when they were ripe to be set ablaze!?" He snarled. The three Saurians grimaced except for Ryan who seemed unfazed by the anger radiating off the Saurian Overlord. Dragaunus stood up from his throne and shot the nearest drone, he snarled as more smoke left his nostrils.

"Indeed I did." Ryan answered, more calm and composed than before when he was fighting Wildwing and yelling at Siege.

"Why? I ask you why?! Do we not share a common enemy?!" Dragaunus growled, he was growing irritated by the man's cool attitude. "How can you waltz into my ship, tell me how we can defeat the ducks and then not take them out!?" He bellowed. Ryan didn't flinch at Dragaunus' words. However, he did have to clean off his glasses from Dragaunus' yelling.

"Lord Dragaunus, you have nothing to fear. Everything that happened is according to the plan." Ryan assured the Saurian. Dragaunus starked back to his throne, freshly furious from his new allies' retreat. But if there was a reason for it then it couldn't hurt to inquire more about it.

"I hope you know what you're doing." Dragaunus growled at Ryan.

"Believe me, Lord Dragaunus, I do. And I have faith in my own lord's plan as well." Ryan said.
