Haru always said she loved the tenth and would be his wife in the future, but the tenth never looked her way. In order to get her attention he would always start a fight with her. At some point instead of the fight to give the tenth a break, he would fight her so her chocolate brown eyes were on him.

He learned her favorite colour was red, so he left an unmarked present in her shoe locker of a set of ruby red earrings.

She thought the tenth left them, but that's alright she smiled.

They argued again, and he felt so he left a red rose in her shoe locker as an apology. They were her favorite flower, she thought the tenth left it. She smiled her dreamlike smile and he was happy.

She wanted something for her hair to do something with it, so he bought her a red hairclip and left it in her bag.

Another time he bought her a red and silver comb with a black dragon laced on it.

Then he bought some intricate headbands, red as the base with either black, silver or white lace, others with beading.

One day he bought her a gold band ring with rubies in it. He never gave it to her though. This one he would wait to give to her.

He learned that she had won her gymnastics competition, so he left a bracelet in her locker, gold with red jewels. She questioned the tenth about it, but said nothing more.

They had an event to go to, at the request of the ninth, the tenth agreed and everyone had to go. Haru had complained that she had nothing to wear to the girls; so he bought her a beautiful scarlet dress and sent it to her house.

A week later he learned her shoe size through an argument, so he bought some black heels and sent them to her house. She had pointed them out one day when everyone was shopping.

The day of the banquet came and she had let part of her hair down the rest up holding the hair comb in place, the scarlet dress fit her like a glove, showing off her curves and the other shoulder sleeves enchanting her every move, along with the skirt of the dress that reached to her ankles, the slit in the dress showing off her legs. The black strappy heels made her legs look like they go on for ages; on her ears where the ruby red earrings and her wrist adorned the bracelet. She was breathtaking.

He had a necklace for her but he couldn't work up the nerve to give it to her himself. So one of the waiters delivered it for him.

He watched her shock as she opened it and the baseball idiot helped her put it on. He didn't like it one bit, and wanted to chew him out but that would give him away.

"You know he's probably giving her a hint as to where all the gifts are coming from." He looked to his right where the turf top stood. He scoffed, he was careful no one knew. "Red is your colour afterall, and her bag wasn't very subtle either."

"It's her favorite colour." Turf top raised an eyebrow. "Besides, she loves the tenth."

"She knows the gifts are not from him. She's trying to figure it out." Turf-top was quiet for a moment, waiting for his response. When none came he sighed.

"You chickened out today didn't you?" He couldn't help flinching. He has been giving her gifts for half a year now, every week something new, something she would love.

He sighed "I can't tell her, I won't get in the way of what she wants. So long as she's happy and smiling, that's all that matters." Turf-top seemed to have given up.

"Well when she figures it out, be prepared." He walked away and Gokudera stood there watching the woman he fell in love with talk with her friends. He chose to keep his distance, but towards the end of the banquet he found himself outside near a fountain, the moon high in the sky. They were supposed to leave soon as they had school the following morning.

"Hayato?" He knew that voice, the soft melodious voice he loved so much. He turned to face her and stopped breathing for the fifth time that night. The moonlight was hitting her in a way that made her seem like she was a celestial being. She glowed, yet was soft, ethereal and beautiful. She took a step towards him;

"Are you alright? You seemed out of it tonight." He forced himself to breathe again.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She didn't seem convinced.

"You sure, I know this probably reminds you of your time at your dad's and today is always hard for you." He tried racking his mind for what she was talking about when he realized his birthday was soon. She was worried that he was uncomfortable because his mother's anniversary is coming up. He smiled at her and put a hand on his cheek.

"Don't worry, this year is much easier than before." She smiled at him.

"Then you won't mind a gift this year?" He looked a little confused but nodded yes to her question. She went into her little purse and pulled out a small box and handed it to him.

"Happy birthday." Her smile meant everything to him and he loved every second of it. He took the box from her hands and opened it, it was a ring and old one from the looks of it and there was a piece of paper with a number written on it.

"It's a family heirloom." He was about to tell her he couldn't take it when her next words caught by surprise. "It was hard to track down, apparently your maternal grandparents knew about you and your mother's inheritance became yours. They passed earlier this year but your uncle gave me his number along with the ring, in case you wanted to know more about your mom, and their family." He looked at her confused, surprised and floored that she went looking for them, for him.

She eventually placed her hands on his.

"If you're not ready you do not have to call them. The ring also has the family jewels, your uncle said to tell you that it is for when you find the person you want to spend the rest of your life with." He looked at the ring again then at Haru, he had a ring for her but he wouldn't mind giving her this one. For now all he could say was;

"Thank you" she smiled at him again, and he took her all in, and as she turned to walk back to the banquet he whispered

"I love you Haru."

Little did he know, she heard him.
