Mercenary and the Beauty Ch. 8

Riding in the back of the truck as a little different for Amelia, the roads were not paved like they were at home, while they were a little bumpy, it wasn't anything like this. Leaning against Toll's shoulder, she could feel him staring at her. Looking up at him, giving him a small smile, she could see the concerns in his eyes, "I'm going to be OK."

Toll could feel her sincerity with her words, but it didn't settle the pit in his stomach, a brutal fight was coming, and she was going to have a front seat to it. Kissing her forehead, he could only hope that she could still look at him at the end of this, knowing that the reality of his job was going to slap her in the face. "I know." It was all he could say.

Amelia felt the truck stop, hearing Barney, Lee, and Maggie talking about getting a solider out of the bar. Peeking her head through the curtain, "I'll do that." Smirking at their faces.

Barney looked at her, "What do you mean you'll do that?" he asked, trying to think how she would get a guy out of the bar.

Rolling her eyes, "Really? You and Lee, going to what? Punch him? Can't talk if he's unconscious." Looking at Maggie, she could see that she got it. Jumping out, she took off her jacket, "I'll be right back." Not even letting him answer her, she entered the bar.

Looking around she found a group of men, but only one had the tattoo on his neck, he was the one she needed. Smiling at the bartender, "English?"

Nodding, "Da. What you need?" she asked.

"Beer, please." Putting a $5 on the table, she turned as she held it to her mouth, her eyes locking with the man. Suppressing the urge to roll her fucking eyes, she gave him a very flirty smile, but turning back to the bartender, seeing that she was watching. "What?"

She eyed her, "We don't get many Americans here." She said suspiciously.

Thinking quickly, "Well, I'm sure, I'm actually working with Doctors without Borders, we are stationed a town over, but I got cabin fever, so, I'm exploring." The hairs on the back of her neck stood up, she knew that it was either him or another man approaching her. "Figured I might be here to help; doesn't mean I can't find something to occupy my time." Giving her a knowing smile.

That seemed to satisfy the bartender, a big hand touched her shoulder, resisting the urge to shake him off, she turned slightly, finding her eyes at his chest, looking up he just kept going, "Jesus, what the hell did you eat to get so huge?" she asked before she could think not too.

Laughing at her surprise to his size, she was going to be his, the moment she walked into this bar, she was going to be his, it was either going to be given or taken, but no matter what, his cock was going to be buried deep in her little body. "American?" he his asked.

Nodding, surprised by how deep his voice was, "Yes. Doctor. You?"

Sitting on the barstool as to keep her from doing something stupid like run, he didn't want to intimidate her, unless that's what he needed to do to have her, smiling at her, "Solider." Extending his meaty hand, "Dmitriy." Smirking as she took it, almost with no fear, oh she was going to look good impaled on his cock.

Amelia felt like she could read his mind, and was honestly ready for a shower, but she didn't know when that was going to happen, realizing that she didn't want to give her real name, "Alice." Leaning into him, "I'm going to be very forward, I've been traveling close to a year, between Bosnia, and Kosovo, I'm needing a good time," eyeing him, "You look like a fun mountain to climb. So, let's cut the bullshit, want to take me somewhere?" Giving him the best smile, she could hope that it was one of come fuck me, not I'm about to lead you to a dark alley.

Standing quickly, he put some money down on bar, and walked her out the front door, practically pulling her, "Come little one." He said leading towards the alley where the guys were waiting.

Laughing, she kept in step, smirking as he turned the corner only to be confronted by Gunner and Toll, before he could react, they had him subdued, and pinned down.

Barney smirked at her, "How'd you manage that?" he asked as he approached the guy.

Looking over at Toll, giving him a wink, her eyes found Barney, "Tits." It was a simple answer. Looking behind her, she could see the fury in his eyes, shrugging her shoulders, "I'm going to wait in the truck, I don't want to see," looking at the rest of them, "what happens next." With that she jumped in the back, putting in her headphone from her iPod.

Toll was pissed when she jumped out of the truck and headed straight into the bar, he was half tempted to go in there, but Gunner and Caesar blocked his path.

"She not stupid, and she's right, we are big, we give off the air of danger, she's small, she's less of a threat." Caesar said.

Maggie could feel that they didn't want her in danger, it must be nice to have so many people care about your safety. Looking up at Barney, she could feel him staring at her, "What?"

"Why didn't you go in?" he asked her.

Rolling her eyes, "She's a tiny blonde, with an ass. And we are not in exactly a country that is known for inter-racial connects, she is the better choice." She would have gone in, but Amelia was less threatening, which made her exceptionally dangerous if trained correctly.

As they waited, she could feel his eyes on her, "What are you trying to figure out?" she asked him.

"How'd you end up with a man like Church?" he asked, leaning against the truck.

It was not something that she wanted to talk about at the moment, and lucky for her, she could hear Amelia laughing as she was coming out of the bar, "You're up boys." Standing back letting them have room.

Toll wanted to go check on Amelia, knowing that the guys had this asshole pinned down, and Maggie was about to interrogate him, he made his way to the back, and found her laying across the bench seat, tapping her leg, not wanting to startle her. Smiling as she pulled out the headphones, "Hey baby." Lifting up her legs he sat down and placed them across his. "You OK?" he asked, concern for her mental health was one of his top priorities.

Gently sitting up on her elbows, "I'm OK. I feel dirty though." Closing her eyes, realizing that man out there was being tortured, but to be fair, she was sure that he wouldn't have taken no for an answer, so perhaps it was a trade-off, "I had to kind of flirt with him to get him to leave with me," letting out a deep sigh, "which makes sense, but the way he looked at me, let's just say that I'm happy that you were here." Sitting all the way up, she could see him tense at her statement, "I love you, I hope you know that."

His eyes found hers, "What did you say?" He heard her, but it was like he couldn't believe it.

Swinging her legs back over, she moved closer to him, "I said, I love you." Placing her hand on his shoulder, "It was the last thought I had as I passed out from the dart, that I didn't tell you that I loved you." He looked stunned, "I know you might not say it back, I'm OK with that. I just wanted you to know." Removing her hand, she felt a little exposed for blurting it out in the middle of nowhere, but she didn't know what happens next, and that wasn't going to be one more thing that she would regret.

As the words left her lips, his heart started beating faster, grabbing her by the back of her neck, he kissed her deeply, damn near forcing her mouth to open to his invasion. Knowing that what was happening outside the truck would soon be over, he reluctantly pulled away, leaving his head on hers, "I love you so fucking much Amelia." Pulling her close to his chest he kept her close as they piled in.

His eyes found Caesar, "Where too next?" he asked, trying to keep his hormones in check as she wrapped her arms tighter.

Leaning back, "Lee is taking another truck to get the weapons, we are heading to an abandoned village to rest, then we are heading towards the Sang's HQ."

He felt her shake at his words, "I'm sorry, I will do everything to keep you safe."

Gently leaning up kissing his cheek, "I know, I have great plans of hiding under a car while you do, whatever it is you do." She knew the next 24 hours were going to be bloody, she wasn't going to be ignorant to the fact that she wasn't going to get out of this without seeing the mayhem. While she was OK with using a beer mug to manage a drunk fool, knowing that the men she spent time with were going to kill anyone that shot at them. She needed to make peace with that, or whatever she saw would scare her to bits. As they moved towards their secondary location, without thinking, "What happened to the solider?" As the question left her mouth, she held up her hand, "NOPE, never mind. I don't want to know."

Toll looked at Gunner, and Caesar, knowing that they snapped his neck, no witnesses, especially from the enemy.

Sitting inside the run-down diner, Amelia laid down on her backpack, smiling as Toll rubbed her lower back, "Careful, I might have you do that all the time." She teased.

Leaning against the wall, "I would if that's what you wanted."

Looking over her shoulder, she could see his worry lines on his face, she knew that he was on edge because she was here with him, turning on her side, she locked eyes with him, "I know what happens tomorrow is not going to be pretty, so," sitting up she kissed his lips, "You do whatever you need to do, don't you dare think that I'm going stop loving you for it." Kissing him again, "I may need a minute to breath, or come to grips with it, but I promise you, no matter what, I love you, I trust that you would never do anything like that to me." Placing her head on his shoulders, she felt him relax a bit.

Hearing the words, made him feel better, while he trusted her words, the blood that was going to be staining his hands tomorrow made him wonder if he was going to be the right man for her. Wrapping his arms around her shoulders, he gently laid them down on the floor, pulling her body on top of his. He would do anything he could to make her comfortable.

Listening to his heart, she teased, "I didn't take you for an exhibitionist."

Swatting at her ass, "Woman, the only person that is ever going to see you cum is me."

Snorting at his statement, "What, so when your gone on a long mission, I can't relax even by myself? Rude."

Wrapping his hand in her hair, "When we get home, you are going to have such a sore ass." Giving it another swat.

Licking her lips, she knew that when they actually had a moment, he was going to need to dominate her, it was something she picked up on quickly, when he was having complicated emotions, she knew that he needed to control her, it must soothe the war in his head that she so willingly submits to him. "Perhaps I will run, I'm pretty fast." She teased him.

Growling at the prospect of hunting her down, tilting her head ever so slightly, he could see the excitement in her eyes as he did so, "Run, I'll catch you, but perhaps you won't fare so well when I do." Wrapping her a little tighter, "Get some sleep, you're going to need it."

Smiling into his chest, she knew that when they were safe, home, and in the house, she was going to make him earn her submission, and no matter how hard her fucked her, she was going to love it. Closing her eyes, the stress of the day finally caught up with her, and she soon passed out.

Toll woke up to the smell of coffee, gently touching his chest to hold Amelia, he found it empty, looking down and around the diner, he found her sitting with Maggie, relief flooded his body. The sooner they got this shit show over with, the farther he would get her from this place. Standing, he made his way to the bathroom, and washed up. On his return back, she was sitting in front of Maggie, putting together one of the guns that Maggie kept on her.

"What are you doing?" he asked as he made his way over.

Looking up, Amelia smiled, "Maggie is letting me have one, something about in case." She could see that he hated the idea but didn't say anything about it.

Reaching into her bag, she handed him a power bar, "Not the best breakfast, but better than nothing."

Sitting next to her, he watched as Caesar went outside with his coffee, leaning over, he kissed her cheek, "Thank you." His eyes found Maggie watching them. "What?"

Clearing her throat, with quick glance, she knew that no one was paying attention, her eyes found Amelia's, "Is it hard loving him?"

She felt Toll tense next to her, but she understood what she was asking, how can you love a violent man. "No. I know who and what he is, what they all are, but they aren't mindless killers, like you're not." Turning back towards Toll, "I know that he can cause great violence to someone, and do so without much care in the world, but I know that no matter what, he'd never do that to me." Her eyes finding Maggie, "You understand?"

Placing a hand on hers, "I do. Thank you." Giving the man a small nod, she stood and made her way to Barney, seeing what the next plan of attack was.

"Why would she ask that?" He questioned.

"Because we are polar opposites, your blood, guns, and mayhem, I'm soft, kitties, and candy. She probably has a hard time making a connection with someone. Most men aren't turned on by the fact that someone smaller than them could kick their ass." Leaning over she kissed him, "She wants something like this. Someone to understand her, all of her."

Toll nodded, he was very lucky, she understood who he was, never once has she made him feel unworthy of her. As he went to respond, he could see Caesar come in with a perplexed look on his face and screamed to get down.

Amelia was tackled down by Toll, and bullets started flying, covering her head, she took slow breaths, turning her head towards Toll she could see that they were pinned, and the guns were a little farther, rolling, she slowly army crawled towards the guns, she could see that Maggie had the same idea.

Together they knocked the table over and started sliding the guns towards the guys. Maggie kept one for herself, and Amelia figured she'd hold onto the last one, making her way back towards Toll, she could see that he was not happy, "I love you, but seriously, now is not the time for I'm a man shit."

Checking the chamber and his ammo, he gave her a pointed look, "Stay down, and follow me." Looking over the guys, there were ready to start firing back.

It was like a well-oiled machine, Amelia stayed behind Toll, she had to keep her breathing level, because watching all the blood and guts, was making her sick, but as she kept in step, she could see that they brought a tank, before she could even react, she felt her body being flung off the steps. Hitting the ground hard, she bit her lip to keep from crying out, but the explosion above her made her scream, she needed to cover her head as pieces of the building came down on top of her.

Looking around, she couldn't see Toll anywhere, she carefully sat up, trying to find anyone, but as she looked around the street, she could see that the tank was taking aim at her again, not even caring she bolted, the sounds of bullets bouncing off the pavement as she ran seemed to fuel her, jumping over the car she heard the tank fire, covering her head again, she stared to panic, this was way out of her wheel house.

Leaning against the car, Amelia took long breaths, knowing that she needed to keep her head calm, or she'd end up getting killed by doing something stupid. A hand touched her side, and she went to swing only to find Maggie staring at her, "HI." She stammered out.

Maggie felt relief, while she was sure that the guys were fine, she wanted to keep her promise to the woman, she said that she would protect her, and she will, "Where's Toll?" she asked her.

Shrugging, carefully peeking out, she could see him firing at the men approaching, smiling that he wasn't hurt, "Over there." Looking back, "We can't stay here."

Maggie stood quickly and fired a few shots off, tossing the gun on the ground, "I'm out."

Toll ducked down as he shot his last round, he could see in the distance that Amelia was with Maggie, hunkered by the car. She was safe, so far, she was safe. "I'm out." He called out.

He could hear the guys call out that they were out as well, fear crept up, with no bullets they were dead, which meant Amelia was dead. Looking towards her, he watched as she handed Maggie the machine gun, and to his horror, her stand up and run across the street. It was slow motion, as every gun turned towards her.
Amelia knew that between the two of them Maggie was the better shot, "I have a very stupid plan." Handing her the gun, "I'm going to draw their fire, you shoot as many as you can." Crouching up, she could see that Maggie didn't like the plan, "Give me something else then?" she quipped.

Shaking her head, "This isn't going to stop them from killing us."

"I know, but I'm not dying without a fight. You?" she asked.

"No." Maggie looked resigned, "Go. NOW." With that she watched a very quick footed Amelia pull the guns towards her. She was able to take out another 8 before she was out too.

Amelia jumped over the back of a truck as gun shots rang out around her, "FUCK!" she yelled as the glass exploded around her. Closing her eyes, she knew that this was probably the last moment, and she was more upset of not being with Toll, but no one really gets to plan their murder.

Shot fired around her, but it from what she could see it was being returned towards the approaching Army, carefully peering out, she could see that the men were falling, and running. The biggest surprise, was a damn missile shot the tank, effectively putting out of commission.

This silence around was deafening, keeping low, she made her way towards Barney who was standing around looking for the source of help.

Toll saw her standing next to Maggie and Barney, his blood boiled with rage that she was hurt, he could see that her head was bleeding, but what's more frustrating that she ran out in the open as bait, as he reached her, he could see that she was barely holding it together, now was not the time to yell, but he planned on it as soon as they got home. Pulling her into a deep hug, "Are you OK?"

Burying her face in his chest, "Worst vacation ever. I pick where we go next time." She joked. Hearing him chuckle made her relax a bit, but as she turned to check on the other guys, she could see movement coming towards them, "Who's that?" she asked, carefully moving behind Toll.

Toll felt her tense and grip the top of his pants, she was scared, and using him to center herself. Ready to kill the approaching danger, but as the outline of the person came into focus, he relaxed a bit, he could see it was Booker.

Amelia felt relief as the man explained about the village, at least this Booker wasn't a threat to them, at least for the moment, but when he locked eyes with her, she felt like she was being judged.

Booker could see out of all of them, she was the one that didn't belong her, but the way she was holding on to Toll, he could see that she was keenly aware of that fact. Wishing them good luck, he made his way back to his truck.

Amelia sat in the back of the truck, her body still vibrating with adrenaline, pulling her knees to her chest, she let out a long sigh. If they got out of this, she was never leaving the house again.
