Not all stories have a happy ending...

The glistening moonlight showered the Eifel Tower in a beautiful white hue, the stars shining miraculously bright as if to taunt her, the lights of the nearby houses dimmed to let the people inside rest after another long day. The scene was beautiful, although it did little to sooth her broken soul.

Ladybug sat alone on top of the rooftop, the same place she watched her friends and the people she considered family lose their magic charms weeks prior. She stared, eyes hollow as she recounted the events that took place leading up to their demise. The dread she had felt months before about becoming guardian had finally became a reality, a reality she wasnt ready for.

The red heroine curled her legs closer to her chest, resting her head on her knee's as a stray tear fell from her eye. She had taken too many risks that day, and she had paid the price. The tears slowly began to fall as she buried her face deeper to her legs, a quiet sob escaping her lips.

The sound of quiet tapping caught her attention, and she jolted up in alert when it morphed into a thud by her side. She whipped her head to her left to see a black figure towering over her. Quickly whiping her eyes, she wrapped her arms around herself and buried her tear laden face again. She really didnt want to see Chat noir.

As much as she kept denying it over the years, she had slowly fallen for the black cat, and the event that happened solidified her feelings. She had fallen deeply in love with her knight in shining armour, but her feelings were conflicting with the ones she had for Adrien. Loving two equally amazing people at the same time weighed heavily on her heart, her only wish was she didn't have to choose between them.

Chat's soothing voice rang through her ears, calling out to her in a hushed whisper, soft as to not frighten the fragile form. "Hey m'ladybug, you ok?"

A gentle hand on her shoulder made her jolt, but as soon as the heat caressed her it was gone, replaced by the chill of the late night. "No, thanks for asking" She croaked, the sound of her own voice foreign to her ears.

She heard shuffling to her side, and the warmth she craved reappeared hotter than before. A sigh escaped the mans lips sending involuntary shivers down her spine.

"If you dont wanna talk about what happened that's fine, but could you at least tell me why you're here if it hurts so much." He whispered, hesitantly placing a hand on the small of her back. She slowly turned her head to look at the feline, moonlight dusting his hair making him look enchanting.

Letting out a shaky breath the bluenette straightened her back and rested her head on his shoulder, causing the man to freeze for a moment. "I dont know" She answered honestly.

A frown tugged at Chat's lips, moving his hand to wrap around her side and pull her closer. "Do you wanna talk about something else to take your mind off it?" He asked, resting his head atop hers.

She sighed and snuggled closer to the warmth. "Did you have anything in mind?" She pulled back to look at him directly, causing Chat's head to shift as he turned to look at her. Eyes all red and puffy from crying, her lips chapped and a deep sorrow hidden under her beautiful bluebell eyes.

"Not particularly" He whispered, "Is there anything you wanna talk about? I'd be willing to listen."

Silence followed as Ladybug figured out what to say, not wanting to talk about anything but not wanting to stay in the silence for long, although the chirp of nearby cicadas filled the emptiness of the night. She debated whether or not to ask the question nagging at the back of her mind, one she had been thinking about since that fatefully day.

She couldn't choose, she didn't want to. She was stuck between Adrien and Chat noir and she hated it. She had fallen for both and her mind was all jumbled up. Her heart was crying out for one of them though, and that one was the person in front of her. Gathering up her courage, she asked the question that would for sure crush her over the answer.

"Have you ever fallen for two people at the same time"

"Why? Have you fallen for my charm m'lady" He joked, his lips parting as she turned away to hide her scarlet cheeks, "Have you?" He asked more seriously, turning his body forward to get a better look at the figure beside him. His breath caught in his throat at the sight of her rosy complexion.

He removed his hand from her side and placed them behind him, leaning back and looking up into the night sky. Ladybug watched as he closed his eyes and let out a breath.

"I have yea" He whispered, making her heart stop. "They're amazing people, both with blue hair ironically enough" Chat chuckled, glancing over to the woman by his side and his eyes widened at the scene. She felt tears prickle the corners of her eyes as she let out a shaky breath, turning away from the cat.

Her heart felt crushed, knowing she wasn't the only one in his eyes hurt more than getting the miraculous stolen. She didn't want to lose him, but if there was someone else, she would. It was selfish of her, especially after all the years of not reciprocating his feelings. "I'm sorry," she whispers. "I'm so sorry."

She turned her tear ridden face towards the man she loved, furiously trying to wipe away her tears, but was stopped by gloved hands holding her wrists. "M'lady stop, talk to me" He begged, his eyebrows knitting together in concern.

"I cant!" She cried, more tears falling from her eyes, "I dont want to lose you, I can't lose you! You're the only thing I have left, and I'm scared Chat!" A sob escaped her lips as she tried to pull her hands away from his grasp, only to be brought into a hug, his arms wrapped around her tightly as her own were pressed against his chest.

"You're not gonna lose me" Chat whispered against her ear, using his free hand to grasp the back of her head and pulling it towards him.

She sobbed against him, slowly prying her arms from his chest to wrap them around his torso, burying her face into the crook of his neck, soft hair brushing against her face.

They stayed like that for the longest time, her eyes turned red and puffy again, and her throat sore and dry. Chat stroked her hair the whole time she cried against him, wanting to comfort the distressed woman in his arms. After she calmed down she tightened her arms around him, stuffing her face closer to his neck, so close her lips brushed against him.

She yearned for him, she wanted to stay in his arms all night, just soaking in his warmth, but she couldn't. Knowing he was in love with someone else stung. She missed his flirting, his teasing, his chase kisses to her hands, all of which have nearly stopped over the last few months, she couldn't take it anymore.

She wanted her kitty back.

Prying herself from him, she watched as he did the same before resting her forehead against his, a single tear rolled down her cheek, closing her eyes in the process. He cupped her cheek and traced his thumb along the bottom of her mask to catch the wet droplet, his breath tickled her lips as he spoke, "I love you Ladybug, so I know you're not gonna lose me."

His words snapped her eyes wide open, surely he didnt say what she think he said. Quickly pulling back to look at him, she whispered, "What?" Wanting to make sure she wasn't hallucinating, she searched his eyes for an answer and thankfully he provided one.

"I love you" He whispered as he slowly leaned forward and hesitantly kissed her lips. Her eyes widened even more as she felt his lips against her own, slightly chapped and soft. As quickly as the kiss started it was over as Chat pulled back, slowly opening his eyes to see Ladybug's wide open in shock. Thinking he'd done something wrong he pulled away, saying a quick sorry and started to get up.

Coming back to her senses she cried out to him, "Wait!" and grabbed his hand. Not wanting to be alone again, she got up with him, wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. His eyes widen a fraction before closing, he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her back, much more passionately than before. It was a dream come true for the both of them.

The kiss was over once they both were out of breath, their lips red and moist. "I love you too kitty." She whispered against his lips before capturing them again, pouring all the pent up emotions into that kiss. All those years of dancing around her partner had driven her insane, being too focused on the man she had obsessed over since the first time they met.

She stopped herself, freezing against the man holding her tightly, causing him to notice. Pulling back Chat brought his hand from around her waist to cup her cheek, whiping away moisture she hadn't known was there.

"M'lady what's wrong" He asked, concern knitting at his brows. She shook her head and placed her hand on top of his, leaning into his touch.

Ladybug sighed as she turned her head over to bury her face into his hand, craving his warmth as it felt her heart was tearing into a million pieces. Another tear rolled down her cheek onto the leather she was buried into. She was surprised she could even cry this much, she was starting to develop a headache from the constant pressure to her skull.

"I'm so sorry," She mumbled into the warmth, more tears trickling down. "I'm so conflicted."

The feline looked down at the woman in his arms once again, his heart aching at the sight of his love in so much pain. "About what M'lady?" He asked tenderly, pulling away to drag her back into a hug again, his chin resting atop her head.

Ladybug sighed sadly and gathered up her courage, leaning back to look Chat in the eyes, illuminated by the moon, she whispered what was making her so distraught. "I can't decide who to love"

His breathing stopped. He looked into the eyes of the woman he loved so dearly, feeling his own tears sting at his eyes he gave her a bitter smile, trying to hide how much her words stung. He gave her a chase kiss to her forehead, lips lingering for a moment to enjoy the feel of her skin before he pulled back.

"Then I'll wait for you to decide my love," He whispered into the night. "I'll wait an eternity for you, because I know that after tonight, you'll choose what feels right."

Ladybug sniffed as she listened, taking in his words as they spilled into the air. Years of denying and being blinded by the brightest person in her life, she craved the darkness that was Chat Noir.

"Can I kiss you" She whispered, looking up into the bright green eyes that shone with so much emotion. The man nodded, and taking his consent she slowly leaned up and pressed her lips softly to his. She wanted to go further, kiss him deeply and show him just how much she loved him, but her heart was in knots.

She felt something wet against her face again, not knowing if it was from her or from Chat. The kiss lasted for so long yet so short when they pulled away. The feline slowly backed up, not before he gently caressed her face, whiping away the tears that refused to stop as she sobbed.

Feeling his own tears start to fall he took that as his cue to leave, taking her hand in his, he placed one last kiss before wrapping his arms behind him to grab his staff. He gave her one last look before jumping down and flying off into the night, illuminated by the moon, leaving behind the love of his life and the memories of her lips.
