A/N: First time writing for SPD so I apologize if Bridge and Sky are OOC at all. This is a Bridge/Sky brotherly/friendship story. As you can probably tell by the summary, this does have mentions of Sky x Syd because I couldn't help myself.

Are Sky and Syd dating? Because it was starting to look like they were. Sky reading the SPD manual was nothing unusual, since he did it at least once a day. Even him reading it while one of his teammates talked to him wasn't unusual. Although, they all knew not to bother him at this point. Even the new girl. So you can imagine Bridge's surprise at seeing Sky and Syd fully engaged in conversation while the former read the manual. Okay maybe calling it a fully engaged conversation was exaggerating a bit. But Syd was talking to him, and he would respond every now and then.

Which was more than the usual 'leave me alone' or 'why are you bothering me' that Bridge or his other two teammates would get. But even if there was still a frown fixed on Sky's face, his aura said differently. He was happy, and there was something else… Strong feelings of happiness? Sky had been happy before, even if he often tried to act like he wasn't. But this was a different kind of happiness. It was almost like a love. But not the normal kind of love Bridge would often see when Sky was around the team. Or even when their new green ranger's family dog had shown up while on a team jog.

(Yes, Sky was a dog person. Who would've thought?) It was more like the kind of love Bridge would see if he was to read the auras of an old married couple. (Not that he made it a habit to spy on old married couples, but sometimes he would get curious. How was he to know what romantic love looked like if he never read the aura of someone in love?) The door opens, and Sky enters the room. Bridge is lying on his back in bed, staring up at the ceiling, but he can feel his roommate's presence.

"What are you doing?" Sky asks. The red clad man moves around the room, preparing for bed.

"I'm thinking."

"Oh no." Sky sits down on his own bed, pulling out his headphones. "Just don't tell me about… whatever you're thinking about."

Bridge sits up in bed. "I'm actually thinking about you."

"Really?"

"So what's going on with you and Syd?"

Sky's eyes go wide, and he chokes on air. But he quickly recovers from the momentary shock. "There's nothing going on between us."

"It didn't look like that earlier. You don't let anyone talk to you like that when you're reading the manual. Not even me. And I'm your best friend." Sky had never called him his best friend, but he also never argued with Bridge when he said it. So he took that as confirmation.

"Well… it was a really interesting conversation but I didn't want to put the book down."

"Really? What was the conversation about?"

Sky stammers before eventually saying, "you're talking crazy. I'm going to bed."

Sky puts his headphones on, lying down on his bed. He pretends to be asleep, but there isn't a force field around him like there usually is when he sleeps. Bridge stands up, pulling the headphones off Sky's head. "Nice try."

"There isn't anything going on between me and Syd. We were just talking." Sky sits up.

"I read your auras. You are in love."

"That's…" Sky trails off, looking up at the ceiling as if he was thinking. "I'm not in love."

He was starting to sound unsure now. "I'm psychic, Sky. I know you better than you know yourself. And a brother knows."

Sky laughs and rolls his eyes, but doesn't argue with him. Bridge also takes this as confirmation. "You love her. You should ask her out. She does love you too."

Sky sighs. "Can I have my headphones back?"

Bridge starts to hand the headphones back to his roommate, but instead gets an idea. He puts them behind his back. "Bridge."

"Are you going to ask her out?"

"Give me the headphones, Bridge."

"Are you going to ask her out?"

"I'll do it tomorrow. Just give me the head-" Bridge hands him the headphones, "phones."

Bridge gets into bed, and Sky does the same. "Goodnight Bridge."

"Goodnight Sky."

the end.
