It turned out easier than Bella expected, to lure Marcus after them. While everyone else headed north, she and Edward moved east. It hasn't taken long before they picked up his tail on them. Bella had seen him in the rear view mirror, staying just far enough behind as not to bring attention to himself, yet she saw him. She felt him.

Edward drove them to the little overrun hotel on the outside of Delle, Utah. The hotel had been abandoned years ago, though. Garrett had purchased it with the intension of flipping it for profit, but never got around to it, thanks largely to Marcus Volturi. So, instead, they would use it to lure him out, trap him. Make him pay.

Edward and Bella made a big show of checking into the office, paying the young man, a friend of Jacob's named Seth, who agreed to pose as an employee of the hotel, in cash. They carried their luggage to room six and settling in. While Edward went to get ice, Bella slipped her laptop out of her suitcase, settling at the small wooden desk.

Her tears betrayed her as she scrolled through her pictures of Charlie. The small, raven hair girl grinned toothlessly at her in one picture. Her face was covered in vanilla ice cream, and her skin was pink from hours spent in the sun. She clicked on the next picture. This one of the same small girl hanging on Bella's back. Her arms were wrapped around her neck, her smile bright and loving. She brought her hand up, tracing the delicate features of the small girl. If she tried hard enough, she could almost feel the girls arms wrapped around her, the heat of her skin contracting her constant coolness. The sound of the girl's laughter echoed inside her head, always reminding her of the happier times in her life. Before everything changed.

Bella was about to click on the next picture when the door to the small motel room was thrown open. Startled, she scrambled to her feet as Edward hurried in, giving her a subtle wink before he slammed the door shut, loudly exclaiming, "He's found us. We have to leave. Now."

"How?" she cried out as she closed her laptop and yanked it off the desk.

"I don't know. Just hurry."

Bella choked back the tears that threatened to fall as she turned toward the bed. She shoved her laptop back into her suitcase, but before she could zip the case up, the door was once again thrown open. Like slow motion, she turned toward the door at the same moment that Edward leapt over the bed and stood in front of her, his arm reaching back to cage her against his body as he pulled the black handgun from the holster on his left hip.

Standing in the doorway, an evil grin on his lips, stood Marcus Volturi, exactly where she wanted him. Bella pressed her hands against Edward's back, prompting him to act.

Edward pulled the trigger on his gun. However, it wasn't a real gun, but a Taser, built special for him. The two electric prongs hit him square in the chest, causing him to tense and fall to his knees, his fingers curling as he reached for Bella.

"Fucking, little whore," Marcus snarled.

Edward fired again, sending another set of electric prongs into the side of his neck. Marcus clinched his jaw tight before he slumped over, passing out. Bella and Edward shared a look before they moved to him, incapacitated him, and prepared to make him pay.

Thank you for all the amazing reviews. Time for Marcus to pay.
