Kagami looks down at his work area. He should have everything needed to complete the task set before him.

Chicken? Check.

Rice? Check.

Vegetables? Check.

Eggs? Check.

Pan? Check.

Cutting board? Check.

Knife? Check.

Lastly, he looks at the clock on his stove showing the time. Kuroko should be here any minute now. Kagami had invited him over the day before for dinner, and Kuroko had been excited to have Kagami cook for him. He plans on cooking something simple, fried rice with chicken and veggies.

His mind flashes back to Kuroko's excitement, well… Kuroko's level of showing excitement. But it had seemed so sincere that Kagami could practically smell it coming off of Kuroko in waves when he invited the blue haired teen over.

A knock on the door pulls him from his reminiscing. Kagami smiles, standing up and heading over to the front door. It opens to reveal a smiling Kuroko, his hair a bit windswept but still styled in the exact same way he wears it every day.

"Thanks for coming, Kuroko!" Kagami addresses his guest, smiling.

"Thanks for inviting me," Kuroko says as he enters the redhead's apartment, leaving his shoes at the door.

"I'm just getting started on everything," Kagami says as he moves into the kitchen.

Kuroko follows behind him and asks, "Is there anything you need me to help you with?"

"No you're a guest," Kagami says, picking up a knife and starting to cut the vegetables he laid out. "I can't make you work."

"Really Kagami," Kuroko starts. "You're already letting us use your place and giving me a free meal, the least I can do is help you."

Kagami hums to himself, thinking. "Fine," he sighs. "If you really want you can make some miso soup."

"Okay, I'll do that," Kuroko says with a small smile on his face as he enters the kitchen, starting the task Kagami laid out for him.

The two work in companionable silence, each focusing on their tasks. As Kagami starts cutting the chicken, about to throw it onto the pan, Kuroko asks where he can find the bowls.

The question startles Kagami. The blue haired man was so quiet, Kagami almost forgot he was in the kitchen with him. Just as he thought he would stop losing track of Kuroko, it seems his record of time is over. By being startled however, Kagami drops the knife he was holding, cutting his finger.

"Ow!" he exclaims, pulling the hurt appendage away from the kitchen counter. "You gotta stop scaring me like that, Kuroko!" he exclaims as he brings his hand up to his face to look at the damage.

It's a small cut, not too large, but it is bleeding a lot.

"Are you alright, Kagami?" Kuroko says, moving around the kitchen to face Kagami and looks at the larger man's hand.

"Yeah I'm fine," Kagami assures the smaller man, waving his hand dismissively. He turns to look at Kuroko and notices his eyes are full of concern.

"Are you sure?" Kuroko asks. He grabs Kagami's hand to check it himself. And sure enough, the cut isn't that large or deep, but there is a lot of blood, probably because Kagami's hands are wet causing the blood to be more thin and runny. "We should still clean and bandage it," Kuroko says. "Wait here while I get your first aid kit."

Kagami only sighs as he watches Kuroko go grab the kit from where he always keeps it in the bathroom. Using his good hand, he turns the stove on its lowest setting. Knowing Kurko, it may take a while for him to treat his hand, and Kagami doesn't want the food to burn in the meantime.

Kuroko returns quickly and pulls Kagami over to the kitchen sink. He starts to clean and bandage the cut and before Kagami knows it he looks down to see a giant wad of gauze wrapping his finger.

"Kuroko," Kagami interrupts the smaller man's movements.

"Yes," Kurko looks up at Kagami's face.

"It is only a small cut. Do I really need all of these bandages? Couldn't a small band-aid have worked?" Kagami asks, trying to move and bend his finger. He finds that it's almost impossible and is making his hand movements very cumbersome.

"Oh," Kuroko says. "I must have lost track of what I was doing."
