Chapter eight:

Frisk finds it is a little bigger than a simple hallway with no side doors to go in.

On the next level the first thing that is seen is that there is two conveyer belts, made with gears and pieces of wood that are probably stolen from another area. There is three tall boxes on one side of the conveyer belt, painted grey and with three switches glowing red. The switches look like some kind of switch toy that goes by either on and off, or by switching between colors to keep kids entertained. Further in the room there is what looks to be another 'vent' puzzle if the set up Frisk is seeing is right. Between the puzzles there is a thicker rope placed across like a laser.

Frisk doubts it's just any 'laser' though as it's thicker than the other one she's seen.

Someone in a black suit rushes in and Frisk swears she's seen this person before. As this person has the same build as the one from the boxes puzzles.

Frisk shivers as the person gets into place turning a handle to make the conveyer belts move. She wonders if that means that they are tracking her progress, or if this person just had to follow in order to operate some puzzles in this area. She feels sick to her stomach if they're tracking her progress. She takes a few deep breaths then notices Alphys up ahead.

Alphys is hiding in a corner past the conveyer belts. She makes ringing sounds so Frisk pretends to answer the phone. "O-Okay. This one is a-actually pretty simple. Y-You just need to flip the t-three switches to deactivate t-the force field that is j-just up ahead. I-I'll call you t-to help. Don't worry w-we got this." With that she 'hangs up' so Frisk does as well.

Frisk approaches the conveyer belt and steps onto it. She finds that is surprisingly sturdy. She stands on it being taken towards the switches. She notices that they are indeed toy switches that look to just change color when hit. She hits the first one then the second then gets ready for the third... That is until Alphys makes ringing sounds surprising her as she was focusing. She jumps missing the third button and steps off the conveyer belt with a groan. She's going to have to do that all over again. She pretends to answer so done with all of this.

"Now!" Alphys calls out as Frisks rubs her hand frustratedly on her face. "O-Oh. I'm sorry." She then pauses then can be heard moving.

Frisk lowers her hand to see what Alphys is doing. She notices that the female heads to the rope and takes it down before retreating.

"O-Oh look at that. I-I guess you just needed t-to hit only two s-switches. Haha. I-I'll go now. I-I'm sure you c-can handle the n-next puzzle by yourself." Alphys hangs up and hurries away, doing the up ahead puzzle like it's real.

The person in the body suit follows doing the same, as they hurry to get to the next floor.

Frisk is glad she doesn't have to do that again. She continues towards the next puzzle. She jumps when someone jumps out at her from by where Alphys had been hiding.

It is a teenager with a painted face like a fire, a bald head so even the teenagers head is painted, a huge grin on his face showing surprisingly perfect white teeth, rope wrapped in a spiral around his body, the rope covering his body plus tying his legs together making him have to hop, his arms popping through the rope on either side, and white with black bottom large goofy looking shoes. "Is it cold in here?" He asks keeping his wide grin on his face.

Frisk is unsettled by the constant wide grin. She jumps back as some plastic bombs are thrown at her. She dodges to the left, then another is sent her way so she goes back to the right. She stops when the attacks stop.

"Feel the heat!" The teenager tells Frisk who gets an idea of what to do here.

Frisk glances around then notices a heater by where the two were hiding. She turns it on and notices the teenager bounce as if getting excited.

"Hot! HOT! Hotter! HOTTER!" The teenager declares before trying to use a rope, lighting the end on fire, like a whip at Frisk.

Frisk jumps out of the way and is relieved to see the floor not catch fire. She jumps out of the way again this time backwards. She stomps out the fire before it lights up this place.

The teenager brings the rope back as if done attacking for now.

Frisk hurries to the heater and cranks it up.

"Yes! Yes! Hot! HOT!" The teenager then hops away in the direction Frisk had come from.

Frisk turns off the heater then continues onward. She glances to the floor and sees that it looks like it was weakened in some spots. She can see the cracks while the areas with the 'vents' seem to be in good shape. She isn't sure how they did it however this looks intentional. She wouldn't put it past them to break the floor to make a puzzle that they hallucinate being there. She hops from one spot to the next ignoring the arrows. She refuses to follow the rules of the puzzle. She gets to the other side faster than if she did do the puzzle. She continues to the next floor. She spots two teenagers or young adults standing on the landing.

Past them is the last few stairs to the next floor.

Frisk approaches them and they look to her.

They look to be about the same height, both muscular, wearing long sleeved skin tight shirts, they have decent sized foam swords one each, grey fake boxing gloves, cardboard that has one end popped up as shoulder pads, some ripped black fabric sown on to give the look of armor, black boots, different painted black plastic masks with one long and the other more round, then finally they have two different head pieces. One has bunny ears, the other has some blue fin like horns on the top middle of his head, then broken plastic painted blue that must be meant to be wings.

"Hold it. We got a report of a human in the area. I know sounds scary right? Don't worry. Come with us well keep you safe." The one with the bunny ears tells Frisk.

Before they can turn the second one stares at Frisks shirt.

The first one seems to notice. "Huh? What is it bro?"

"The shirt they're wearing?"

"Like what about it?"

The two look at Frisk as if giving her a closer look. They stand up straight and look at each other.

"Bro..."

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

The two share a nod then turn back to Frisk.

"This is like... Mega embarrassing. We like actually totally have to kill you and stuff."

The two prepare their swords for a fight.

Frisk hurries up some of the steps to not get hit by their swords. She doubts it'd really hurt but the speed that they're swinging them would hit hard. She moves forward and is about to talk to them when she moves away again. She watches as star shaped glitter is thrown at her. She knows that stuff gets everywhere. She doesn't want to end up bringing it home. She moves forward then gasps as she stumbles. She falls forward accidentally ripping the shirt of the one with the horns, before she manages to catch herself on that persons waist. She quickly moves away with a few apologies. Out of the corner of her eye she swears she sees movement. She turns fearful of attack. She pauses as she notices that the one with bunny ears seems bothered by something. She sees him looking at where she ripped the other ones shirt. She blinks as she realizes what they need.

The bunny eared one is too distracted to notice Frisk approaching. He pauses as Frisk whispers encouragements in his ear, at least where Frisk knows his real ear is, to ask the other out. He swallows harshly as the other throws the glitter at Frisk, making sure to not hit the bunny eared other, causing her to move away from said one with the bunny ears.

"O-Okay bro! I can't take this anymore!" The bunny eared one exclaims making the other pause. "Listen bro... I like... I like... LIKE you... So maybe would you... Want to go out together like maybe?" He pauses waiting anxiously for a response.

Frisk swears she can see him sweating despite the mask.

"Bro..." The other one says then his posture looks really happy as it straightens. "Of course bro! I'd love that!"

The two look happy and with thanks to Frisk they hurry off for a date together.

Frisk feels a little proud about that. She knows they're mentally unwell but it's still nice to help two get together. She stops at the next floor's entrance finding the area ahead pitch black.

No sign of anyone around.

Frisk takes a deep breath before walking forward into the darkness. She makes every step careful and slow as she has no idea what's in this room. She jumps with a small squeak when Alphys is heard making the ringing sound. So she pretends to answer the phone with her heart racing from the surprise of it. She could really use Alphys's help with the lights... Even though she has a bad feeling about this room.

"I-It's pretty dark in h-here isn't it? Hold o-on I'll get the lights t-turned on." Alphys then goes silent as Frisk hears shuffling.

Frisk waits a few moments as Alphys sounds like she knows exactly where she is going. She guesses it shouldn't a surprise since they've been here for two years. She covers her eyes briefly when the lights flick on. She blinks as her eyes adjust then she lowers her hand when her eyes are good. She finds like the map said it's a decently open room with a closed door across the room. She remembers from the map that there's another area past it before the stairs. She wonders if this spot was once a living room or something. She sees Mettaton using the camera with wheels from earlier.

Mettaton is off to the side in a place he set up with the rest of the area open to Frisk. His area includes, a cardboard box with two calculators on either side of him, plus MTT painted on the front of the box, a plank of wood behind him painted like a city scape silhouette, a square around a Tv showing white fuzz isn't painted showing the wood, and Mettaton put on boxes with a painted suit on it.

The rest of this room has painted ledges, that with the black areas makes Frisk unsure if the floor is broken or if it's all painted. Plus a closed door at the other side of the room.

She notices different objects sitting around the area.

A basketball, a white plush dog, a present, a glass of water, a stack of papers, and what looks like a DVD or video game.

"Breaking news! There's school cancellations due to reactivated puzzles. But on other news there is something happening out in Hotlands." Mettaton announces then gestures to the Tv behind him. "Luckily our correspondent is out there. Reporting live!" He then lowers his hand and waits.

Frisk realizes he wants her to approach an item. She approaches the papers noticing it's a script. She checks the DVD which she finds is a game. She then glances to the other ones. She decides to go with the script to hopefully keep Mettaton happy. She turns to Mettaton once by the script.

"Oh my! It seems that our reporter has found the preview to my latest movie! Mettaton the Movie XXVIIIstarring me Mettaton! Oh my! What a find our reporter has reported on!" Mettaton puts his hands on either side of what could be considered his face. "Oh no! But wait! Somethings not right!" he exclaims as Frisk gets a worried feeling about this. "That preview isn't real! It's actually a bomb!" He hurries over putting string, that looks like a cartoon bomb string, on the script then runs back. He pretends he hadn't left. "Oh no! Our poor brave reporter! All of the things there are bombs! And it seems that our reporter has two minutes to diffuse all of them!" He quickly adds strings to the other items then goes to sit to watch in his little booth area.

Alphys makes ringing sounds as she pokes out from where she's hiding by Mettaton.

Frisk answers the phone.

"D-Don't worry. I w-was worried you w-would run into a bomb. I-I couldn't let it be the reason y-your adventure ended. I-I installed a defuser o-on your phone. Push t-the button on the side. T-Then approach them and use it t-to diffuse the bombs."

Frisk just picks a random button then 'uses' her fake phone gifted by Alphys on the script. She does this by putting it by the item. She does this with the other ones, figuring that in their heads maybe they're moving since they watch as if this is intense, then as she approaches the glass of water it rises. She realizes there's a clear string attached which she follows to Mettaton holding a fishing rod.

"Oh no! The last bomb is going wild! Can our brave reporter catch it before it goes off?" Mettaton questions with a decent sounding actors gasp of worry. He starts to swing the cup around causing water to fly everywhere.

Frisk groans and chases after it. She is being watched closely by them, and she knows that those living here have killed before. She might as well play nice and not test them on that. She leaps at it waving her arms but Mettaton is just too fast. She stops as she watches the now mostly empty cup fly around. She waits hoping it'll fly closer. She spots her chance as it swings closer as Mettaton tries to turn it. She reaches for it trying to be quick. She grabs the base though as Mettaton tries to keep it moving it slips away.

Only the glass is pulled out of the string wrapped around it. It falls to the floor shattering upon impact.

Frisk stands there for a moment then glances to Mettaton, who puts the fishing rod away. She 'uses' her fake phone on it. She sees Mettaton hurry over carrying a globe painted like a decent sized cartoon bomb. She also sees the string to be the fuse is tied to the top of the stand holding the globe in place.

Mettaton sets it down on the middle then returns to his booth. He gasps dramatically. "That bomb! It'll now explode in two seconds! This may get ugly folks!"

Frisk hurries towards it to play along. She stops as Mettaton makes a worried noise as if it's too late. She pretends to answer her phone when Alphys calls.

"Ha! M-Mettaton is no m-match for us! I just d-defused that bomb w-with my hacking skills!"

Frisk wants to roll her eyes at this whole thing though holds back.

"Oh. I see Alphys has diffused the bomb by hacking it. Well it seems everything is alright now folks! This is MTT news signing off! Stay tuned for more this channel will have to offer today." Mettaton leaves after that and Alphys hurries off as well.

Frisk continues on so just wanting out of this place. She checks the map confirming she's not done with this floor yet. She groans wondering what Mettaton is planning next. She heads to the door opening it to find a small room with a dimly lit hallway up ahead. She sees a young adult girl dressed as some kind of spider monster, and an older adult male in what she can guess is a cat outfit.

The girl dressed as a spider is sitting in front of a table. She has a purple table cloth over it, some goodies placed on the table, and seems to be waiting for someone else to check them out. Her outfit is a dress with different shades of red darker top then lighter bottom, black leggings, black flats shoes, four purple fake fabric looking arms, all fake arms are holding either a white teapot or a white teacup, a painted purple spider face with dark grey spider eyes, and black hair framing her face with two small pigtails at the top.

The one dressed as a possible cat looks a little distressed. He's also staring at a donut as if that's the source of his distress. He has a bright yellow suit, green gloves, a green painted face, green dyed cat ears, black facial hair though a bald painted head, and his arms are long for his body size.

This area is a hallway with a few doors to some rooms up ahead. It's noticeable that the last bit of the hall is painted in purple colours, with some white thrown in though it's hard to make out details from here.

Frisk decides to leave the man alone. She goes over by the spider girls table as it's by where she needs to go. She pauses to glance to the table. She finds a croissant and a donut which said donut looks like the one from earlier.

"9999G each." The spider girl tells Frisk causing her eyes to widen.

Frisk can see some sort of challenging spark in the girls eyes. She wonders if she doesn't get something here then the spider girl may be a problem later. She doesn't want to have to deal with another issue. She sighs heavily and pulls out the rest of her old pocket change. She can easily replace it after all. Once she gets out of here. She offers it to the spider girl who looks it over.

The spider girl shakes her head and crosses her real arms. "That's not nearly enough." She tells Frisk who puts her change away.

Frisk guesses she has no choice but to have to deal with this girl later. She turns hurrying right past the man that she hears is mumbling to himself. She continues forth and checks the rooms for anyone that might attack. She finds some puzzles and does them, after seeing someone in a black suit ready to stop her from continuing. She then heads to the way forward once done as the person lets her through. She spots the floor is covered in the fake halloween spider webs, plastic black spiders hanging from the ceiling, and dimmer lighting though bright enough to see the path. She just needs to reach the stairs on the other side. She steps onto the surface of the webbed ground. She walks along noticing a possibly ten year old boy in a black spider outfit walk beside her.

The boy wiggles the fake spiders while pretending they're speaking. "Did you hear what they just said?" He moves to the next as Frisk watches while trying to not get too tangled in the fake web. "They said that a human wearing a striped shirt will come through." He moves to the next. "I heard that they hate spiders." He has only two more. "I heard they love to stomp on them." He goes to the last one. "I heard that they like to tear their legs off." He then runs into one of the rooms so Frisk proceeds a little further.

Frisk stops as she hears a door freak open beside her. She turns to see a pitch black room is revealed.

"I heard..." The spider girl's voice comes from within the room. She then flicks on the light switch revealing a purple room. She seems to have made it her room as there is a mattress on the floor in the corner behind her. She's standing on a pretty decent fake web, that looks more real than the tangled stuff beneath Frisks feet. "That they're real stingy with their money." She glares at Frisk as though she was wronged in someway. "Ahuhuhuhu. You think that your taste is too refined for our fine pastries, don't you, deary? Ahuhuhuhu." Her laugh unnerves Frisk as it shows the mad delusions this woman is in. "I disagree with that notion. I think that your taste..." She smirks to Frisk who tenses wondering if something will come her way. "Is exactly what this next batch needs."

"Oh come on I just got out of something like that not that long ago!" Frisk complains then groans as of course this is how it'll go. She's getting tired and just wants rest and to get out. She is also hungry as she hasn't had much to eat in a bit. She's snuck what she could eat here and there keeping it all hidden from everyone but her. So she's working on limited food intake. Since all she really has is snacks not full meals.

The spider girl starts throwing plastic spiders. She's grabbing them from a bucket behind her. She does the one side then the other.

Frisk dodges from one side to the other not feeling like being hit by the fake attacks. She sees that the girl doesn't care if she might throw them too hard.

Some are faster than others so it's best to just avoid them anyways.

Frisk is glad when the spider girl stops for a moment as if it's her turn. "I showed you the money I had. I didn't have enough!" She tells the other. "I can't make money out of thin air."

"Ahuhuhuhu. Don't pretend you don't have more money. Pretending that you don't. Don't worry. You'll make an excellent cake." The girl then throws some more plastic spiders with some so fast they'd hurt if hit.

Frisk does her best to dodge only to gasp as one of the faster ones hits her in the stomach. She pauses from the sting and gets hit by a few more. She gives an unimpressed look at the girl. "Why don't you just let me go? I haven't hurt a spider." She points out hoping that she'll be free. Her eyes glance to the way out of this section. She contemplates just running for it. Her attention is brought back when a purple blanket is tossed at her. She gets covered by it and throws it off to her feet.

"I can't let you go. Don't be silly. And by the way dearie I think purple looks much better on you." The girl chuckles then turns to pick something up. "Oh, how rude of me. I almost forgot to introduce you to my pet! It's breakfast time, isn't it? Have fun you two." She turns back revealing a plush spider cupcake that's a decent size too. She tosses it at Frisk who moves back letting it land on the floor. She hurries over picking it up then races back to her spot.

Frisk is about to speak but the girl cuts in.

"The one who warned us about you... Well they offered us a lot of money for your soul. They had such a sweet smile and... Ahuhuhuhu." The girl then gives a confused look. "It's strange though. I thought I saw them in the shadows... Changing shape..."

Frisk blinks to an equally confused look at the mention of this. She wonders if this girl hallucinated more than she already is.

The girl returns her face to a smirk and continues the throwing of spiders. She stops after some dodging from Frisk. "But it doesn't matter. With the money they offered we can finally reunite the spider clans!" She looks rather happy about this.

Frisk regains her confused look at hearing this.

"You haven't heard? Spiders have been trapped in the ruins for generations. Though even if they went under the door Snowdin's cold is impassable to them. So we'll get a heated limo and they can finally reunite with us! All thanks to the money from your soul!" The girl explains and Frisk then remembers something.

"Wait! I met them in the ruins!" Frisk then sees the girl about to throw the plushie again.

"Just meeting them doesn't mean much to us. Oh would you look at the time. It's lunch time dearie." The girl then tosses the plush at Frisk again. She goes to grab the plush returning to her spot.

Frisk tries to grab the donut from her bag only to be interrupted by a plastic donut. She gets hit on the side of the head and she brings her hand to there. "Ow!" She complains about the impact. She has to leap away from her bag as more plastic donuts are thrown.

"And with the leftovers we could go on a nice vacation!" The girl looks rather excited as her eyes shine. "Or we could even build a spider baseball field..." She throws a croissant acting as though it is a boomerang.

Frisk easily dodges the fake boomerang. She tries to go for her bag but trips as her feet get tangled in the fake web. She groans after she hits the slightly soft ground. She gets hit by some fake spiders. She tries to struggle out of the entanglement of the fake web. She moves to use her hands to help.

"But enough of that... It's time for dinner isn't it? Ahuhuhuhu." The girl prepares to throw the plushie once more as Frisk looks to her.

Frisk stops her attempts to get out only to move as the plush is thrown. She watches it land where she just was.

The girl hurries over picking up the plush is then returning to her spot again. "You're still alive?" She sounds rather shocked at this. "Ahuhuhuhu. We can change that." She raises the plushie again. "Oh, my pet. Looks like it's time for dessert." She is about to throw the plush when the boy hurries to her with a piece of paper. She lowers the plush turning her attention to the boy. "Huh? A telegram from the spiders in the ruins?" She puts the plush down and takes the piece of paper. She reads what's on it. "What!? They saw you and..." She turns to Frisk with a softer grateful look. "... You helped donate to their cause! Oh my, this has been a big misunderstanding! I thought you were someone who hated spiders. Seems that I was wrong on that. I guess the one who asked for that soul... They must have meant a different human in a striped shirt." She smiles rather warmly. "Sorry for all the trouble. Ahuhuhuhu. I'll make it up to you." Her eyes gain a devious glint in them. "You can come back here at anytime, and for no charge at all I'll wrap you up then let you play with my pet again! Ahuhuhuhu." She chuckles in amusement to this. "Just kidding! I'll spare you for now." She turns off the light to the room indicating that Frisk is free to go.

Frisk works on freeing herself then once out she grabs her camera. She shows the mess from the 'battle'. "I can't wait to get out of here. I'm so close." She turns and heads to the next floor down the stairs. She pauses just outside at seeing the first part which she shows on camera.

The first part is a hallway with painted cardboard pieces, that are right by the wall, to look like some kind of castle. There's some coloured sheets of paper stuck to the floor stretching to the end of the hall.

Frisk knows that further down there's another open area before the stairs; the door to the open area seems to be open or missing. She just needs to get past this part of this floor first. She puts her camera away before she heads to enter the room. She keeps an eye out for anyone that might jump out at her.

"Oh? That human... Could it be...?" Mettatons voice speaks out casuing Frisk to groan as she figures of course. He shows himself in a window of a castle wearing a dress of all things. Him in the dress actually slightly amuses Frisk as he looks silly. "My one true love?" If he heard her slight laughter he ignored it. "Oomph! I am so overwhelmed with tragedies! The king has ordered you to waste away in the castle basement. And before we even had time to to sing a sweet song about it. My dear heart! I can barely look upon you, knowing what comes next..." He brings an arm up as if doing the dramatic faint pose.

Frisk prepares for this though glances to Mettaton having a feeling he's not done.

"So sad. So sad." Mettaton pretends to still be rather upset about it. "That you are in the dungeon. Well toodles." He hits a button causing the papers to be lit up by flashlights that act as spotlights.

Frisk has a feeling she's seen this style of puzzle before. She then remembers the puzzle with Papyrus. She realizes that she was right, that there wouldn't be enough parts to make another one. She is at least glad that this one doesn't show danger.

"Oh no! Whatever shall I do?" Mettaton moves along a pathway he seems to have built behind the fake castle. "My love has been cast away into the dungeon! One that holds a puzzle so dastardly, my love will surely perish!" He stops and does the fainting pose again. "O, heavens have mercy! The horrible colored tile maze! Each colored tile has its own sadistic function." He shifts to just stand normally as he begins the explanation.

Frisk is glad since she could use a reminder on this puzzle.

"For example, a green tile sounds a noise, sand then you must fight a monster. Red tiles will..." Mettaton pauses as though something had just occurred to him, giving Frisk a sinking feeling. "Actually, wait a second. Didn't we see this puzzle about a hundred rooms ago?"

Frisk's heart drops. She can't believe it, no she needs to remember how to move so Mettaton won't think she's cheating.

"That's right. You remember all the rules, don't you?" Mettaton continues before Frisk can even get a word in. "Great! Then I won't waste your time repeating them! Oh, and you'd better hurry." He grabs something just out of view for Frisk. "Because if you don't get through in thirty seconds..." He pulls a rope causing fake fire to drop down. He seems to have made sandbags into painted on flames. He clearly doesn't care or he knows that he could do damage to Frisk with the heavy sandbags. His hand still on the rope as though he'll control it by pulling it. The way he's holding it makes Frisk worry that he can pull them up so they'll swing, which would cause them to do even more damage to Frisk if hit. "You'll be incinerated by these jets of fire!" He almost sounds maniacal and truly crazy as he lets out a huge laugh. He is now unnerving Frisk rather than be amusing.

All before she could push aside the fact that he's delusional so his outfit amused her. However now with that laugh, a crazy person laugh, it all hits Frisk hard. Her heart racing wondering what Mettaton will really do if she fails this. She is brought back to reality enough to listen when he speaks.

"My poor love! I'm so filled with grief, I can't stop laughing!" Mettaton dramatically calls out. "Good luck, darling!" He begins walking along pulling the fire to move closer to Frisk.

Frisk's body instinctively gets her moving as it just wants to get out of here. She tries to go in a straight line but slips as she finds the one paper isn't paper, but a slanted square. Her heart pounding so loud she can't hear Mettatons singing, not that she was listening to whatever song he's singing. She gets to her feet and tries to pay more attention to where she is stepping. She can hear the dragging sound growing closer. She turns to see the sandbag like flames dragging closer to her. She turns back and keeps going as the fake fire keeps coming. She slips a few more times as she steps on the wrong spot. She jumps with a squeak when another sandbag looking fire drops down in front of her. She starts to feel true panic shoot through her. She must not have made it in time. She glances around wanting a way out. She doesn't want to be squished between the bags and Mettaton definitely won't show mercy. She can't climb over them as the close together ropes would make it harder to get by, also she knows if Mettaton saw her do so he'd raise them then she'd get struck by swinging sandbags. She'll have to see if there's another way so she keeps looking.

There doesn't seem to be anything as the two walls of fake fire close in on her.

Frisk can't escape this. She wonders if this is all Mettaton plans for her. She starts to turn to look at him fearing he'll attack. She then notices Alphys crouched by the fake castle wall. She notices the other act as if she's calling her. Her heart settling down a little as she pretends to answer, finally able to hear over her heart pounding.

Alphys may be just as crazy as the rest of them, but she surely will be able to help her.

"Alphys help me!" Frisk pleads fearing that the other may be her last hope at making it past here.

"D-Don't worry! I'll s-save you! I'm hacking i-into the firewall n-now!" Alphys assures her so Frisk turns to the sandbag flames closing in.

Frisk is willing Alphys to actually do something. She is about to turn to Mettaton still having fear of an attack. She then sees the fake flames stop moving. She glances to Mettaton who almost seems to be pretending he's surprised.

"Oh no! How could this happen? Foiled by the great Dr. Alphys!" Mettaton calls out tossing away the ropes he had been holding.

"That's r-right!" Alphys calls out triumphantly acting as though voice is coming out of Frisks 'phone'. "Give it u-up Mettaton! You c-can't draft us! Not a-as long as we work together! Y-Your puzzle is finished! G-Go home and leave u-us alone!"

"Puzzle? Finished? Oh dear Alphys you've forgotten one thing." Mettaton says and Frisk is tense ready to be attacked; she just knows that it is surely coming. "Don't tel me you forgot about the green tiles and what they do. They make a sound and you have to fight a monster... Well darling, that monster is me!" He jumps down landing in front of Frisk.

Frisk in her panic holds out her phone as if hoping it'll magically defend her. She doesn't want to die in here and certainly not by the hands of this crazy lunatic.

"This is it darling!" Mettaton declares staring at Frisk as he inches closer. "Goodbye!" He starts to reach for her as Frisk starts to take steps backwards.

Suddenly the two of them pause as Alphys calls out to Frisk. "H-Hey! This s-seems bad, but don't w-worry! There's one l-last thing that I installed on y-your phone...! Y-You see that yellow button...? Go a-ahead and press it. "

"Ha! That little button won't save you darling." Mettaton chuckles but Frisk pushes the first yellow button she sees. He then seems a little worried, perking Frisk up a little. "Oh! That yellow glow...!"

N-Now press it a-again." Alphys tells Frisk who does so.

Mettaton moves back as if having been hit. "Oooh! Oooooh! You've defeated me! How can this be, you were stronger than I though, etc. whatever." He almost seems a bit fed up with this. He runs off as Frisk sighs in relief.

Frisk collapses to the ground, hardly hearing Alphys say good job before pretending to hang up. She sits there for a little bit, so much has happened that she needs to recollect herself. She gets up after she finally feels a little better. "Okay." She heads towards the entryway finding that there is no door at all. She moves through being greeted by a fake wall, painted dark grey, with space on either side. She spots two painted pieces of wood above the double doors.

One sign is painted red with bright yellow letters spelling out MTT, while the other is a white and yellow checkerboard style.

Frisk also notices that the light here is dimmer as it looks like the lightbulbs need replacing. She turns happening to notice Sans waiting on the right side of the building. She decides to peek around the left corner to be safe. She does so and sees two girls, one slender and one chubby.

The slender girl is wearing an alligator mask, that seems to have been made of down together fabric on a frame. She might have used a wire to make the shape of Frisk had to guess. She has curly blonde hair, a pink shawl, with yellow and blue markings on the sides, and blue pants.

The chubby girl as on purple cat ears, she has a gold hoop earring in the right one, her face painted to look more cat like, her black hair is short, with the top being pushed to the right side with blue dyed tips, blue overalls with yellow buttons that barely fit her large breasts, and what looks to be fake yellow feathers acting like fur sticking out of the overalls on her outer shoulders.

Frisk moves away from them deciding to leave them alone and turns to Sans, who patiently waits for her to approach. She heads over to him. "Hey."

"Hey Kiddo." Sans greets with his casual smile on his face. "Say. Do you got a minute? I can take you into the resorts restaurant area. I was just hoping we could talk a little." Sans tells her as they watch one another. "Don't worry. I don't have the nerve to cowardly take you out back to attack so to speak." He lightly jokes easing Frisks mind a little. He must have picked up on her nervousness, she doesn't blame herself after all that has happened.

Frisk slightly glances to the only other way in that she knows. She thinks that listening to Sans is a much better than possibly finding a Mettaton trap. She doesn't trust Mettaton to put something just inside of the building for her. She turns back to him. "Alright." She agrees causing Sans to smile more.

"Great! This way. I know a shortcut." Sans leads the way around the right side.

Frisk follows putting trust in him but also being cautious. She crawls through a hole that he leads her to.

They stand up to find themselves in a decent sized restaurant looking area.

Sans takes her to one of the tables where they sit across from each other. "Thank you for agreeing to talk." He begins as Frisk takes in this calming break from her life being at risk. "There's something interesting. You see, and don't tell Papyrus, but I've been talking to this lady on the other side of a door. The ruins door." He begins to explain and Frisk has a feeling who that lady is. "We like to tickle each other's funny bones with all sorts of jokes and puns. She's hilarious! But that's not what I wanted to tell you. You see one day she made me promise something. I don't usually have the stomach for making promises. She managed to get me into it though. Heh. I suppose in that way her and Papyrus are the same. Well her promise request was that I protect and watch over the next human that came out. Which was you." He pauses for a moment as Frisk takes it in. "I've been watching your progress, and it doesn't really seem like you need help."

Frisk pauses at this and realizes that Sans may have seen her in the offices. She doesn't notice any sign of him being upset by it. She feels relieved by seeing this since for a moment she was worried he was angry. She opens her mouth to ask if he could travel with her to the security room... However she is quick to shut her mouth closed. She doubts that Sans would understand what she would be asking of him; not with him being as deep into the delusions as the others. She also doesn't know what the area with the security room is, at least in their minds. So she probably shouldn't bother.

"Still. Pretty crazy promise huh?" Sans pauses to which Frisk finds herself a little worried.

Frisk tenses at that realization. No, she can't start to genuinely care about them. She's going to get out of here and won't be returning. She can't let even the kindest one of these delusion people get too close. "Yeah. I appreciate your guys thoughtfulness." She mentions, just hoping that Sans didn't notice her internal struggle.

"Heh. Don't worry about it kiddo." Sans then turns as if he is about to leave. "Well thanks for talking with me. I'll see you around."

"See you." Frisk responds and sits for a little longer. She's been on her feet for so long, it feels nice to sit for a little bit. She gets up after just a little bit the heads out of the restaurant area. She looks to a fake fountain that is in the lobby.

It's a Mettaton looking figure with two boxes beneath one large then one half the size. The Mettaton is made of a metal rod sticking out of the top box, a wooden box on the top, two planks of wood making the arms, then just a random pair of gloves for the hands. It has some paint on it to show details of Mettaton, or at least how they see him.

Frisk decides to ignore it and heads further into this place. She stops at one of the bathroom areas, she's seen a few here and there mainly in homes or towns, and continues further into the resort once done. She had to be gentle as the homemade toilet paper is more hard than what's she's used to. She passes by a burger emporium which she decides it backtrack to. She heads inside deciding to get some food in her. She's going to need to be able to get past whoever is guarding the way out. So she might as well get some food in her. She sees others eating food from here so it must be safe. She can see them sitting in chairs using end tables in front of them as fast food tables.

"Welcome to MTT-brand burger emporium." The young adult or teen man greets his hands raised as he gives a bit of a crazy look. "Home of the glamburger! What can I do for you little buddy?" He has on a pair of orange cat ears, a paper hat with an M on it, an orangish red t-shirt, and Frisk can't see the rest behind the wooden box counter.

Frisk offers her pocket change. "Is this enough to get a burger?"

"Sure is." The other informs her taking the money. He turns and after a few moments hands her a burger in a bag. "Here you go! Thanks! Have a fabu-ful day!" His face looking as crazy as before making Frisk really uncomfortable.

Frisk backs away and sits down in one of the empty chairs. She digs into the burger which is a little over cooked but it'll do. She can have better food once she's out of here. She can't be too picky in a place like this. She finishes the food then heads to leave the area. She pauses seeing two doors and wonders which one will take her down. She decides to get a closer look at the two doors. She notices one seems to be an elevator as there is probably fake buttons beside it. She knows from the map there's no elevator. She turns her attention to the other door and opens it. She heads through it and down the stairs before her. She's so close to getting out of here. She's going to make it. Her heart pounding in her chest at the thought that this is the last floor then she's free. She gets to the final step and can see the security office marked up ahead. She hops down from the last step only to hear cracking beneath her feet.

It is loud and clear.

Before she can do anything the floor breaks beneath her causing her to fall. She hits the ground knocking the breath out of her. Her eyes shut from the impact as she passes out into darkness.
