Here we are! Chapter 2 is upon us! And with it… more comedy gold! I'll be working on this story and Nightmare Shadows quite a bit. I have a lot of ideas for Nightmare Shadows, so eager to put them onto paper XD I also wanna work on Lando Ho as well, but needa think things through, so be patient! Real life has been hectic and I've been busy dealing with personal things, work and all that. But I promise you all regular updates, so please bear with me! Chapter 2: Obsessive Friendship
The next day, Dawn wakes up with a deadpan, monotone expression on her face. She stared blankly at the ceiling while lying down on her bed and was completely naked underneath her sheets, as if she remembered everything that had happened the night before and was currently regretting every single moment. Sleeping next to her, and also completely naked underneath the sheets, was Selene. The black haired 18 year old girl had her smaller, slim, slender arms clinging to Dawn's arms and her head rested comfortably on Dawn's breasts, as if she was using them as pillows. Her smaller, but firm, squishy breasts squished against Dawn's arm as she nuzzled against her comfortably. Dawn takes a deep breath and lets out a deep sigh.
'My name is Dawn Hikari… I'm an 18 year old college student studying abroad in Hoenn… and I have done something truly regrettable…' Dawn monologues in a monotone and comical manner with black bags under her eyes. 'For my first night spent at the mansion I already, for the very first time in my life, have slept with someone… Not with my boyfriend… Not even with someone of the opposite gender… But… with my roommate of all people…' While Dawn is comically contemplating her sexuality as a result of what had transpired, Selene wakes up finally and takes a look at her cell phone with a deadpan expression to her face.
"Morning already, is it?" The black haired girl says. She lies in bed for a few minutes, still snuggling against Dawn. "Bleeeeeeh... I don't want to go to school… It's comfy here..." She says in a deadpan manner. Dawn sweat drops at how unmotivated the black haired girl appeared to be. As Selene lies in bed, Lily is seen heading out of the bathroom, having just brushed her teeth and combed her hair, already diligently getting ready for the first day of class. She then turns to Selene and huffs with a pout.
"Selene, you can't spend the whole day sleeping! Especially on the first day! Don't cause any more trouble for your roommate, please! You've already caused her more than enough trouble as it is!" She says. She's then seen quite red in the cheeks noticing that they were both completely naked and looks the other way. "... A-As I can see… You've already caused her more than enough trouble…" She repeats herself comically while clearing her throat and flushes quite red in the cheeks. Selene has a lazy, deadpan expression on her face while still cuddling to Dawn and hugging her affectionately.
"Bleeeeh… can't move… Bed warm… Dun wanna leave… I wanna play games all day…" Selene says comically and lazily while sticking her tongue out. She then gets a coy glint in her eyes while looking at Lily. "If Lily gives me a kiss, I might be willing to get up~!" She says coyly and in a deadpan manner. Lily grows a deep red in the cheeks and huffs with a pout while looking the other way, annoyed with how impossible the black haired girl was being with her, but at the same time, was also slightly jealous seeing her cling so comfortably with Dawn..
"Moe… I swear, you're impossible! You're just forcing your lesbain tendencies on everyone, aren't you?" Lily stutters while flustered and a deep red in the cheeks. She then twiddles her fingers a bit before leaning in to give Selene a quick peck on the cheeks. "That's it for now, alright? Now get up!" She says with a pout. However, Selene comically takes this chance to drag Lily onto the bed, causing the blonde haired girl to squeal cutely as Selene presses her onto the bed and makes out with the blonde haired girl lovingly off-screen. Hearts float onto the screen while they make out and Lily's muffled squeals and moans of protest can be heard off-screen as Selene moans and makes out with her. Dawn sweat drops, but takes this chance to get out of bed and get dressed herself, preparing herself for the day while the two girls are completely caught up in their lesbian make-out session. It was very much clear to her that there was something more going on between the two of them than that of friendship, something which she wanted no part of.
"Well, you two have fun, don't go at it too long. I have class now. See you later tonight." Dawn says to the two of them comically. Selene is comically seen to be giving a thumbs up off-screen while Lily could be heard letting out muffled moans of protest at Dawn as the blue haired girl finishes getting dressed and ready for the day and heads out of her room. As Dawn closes the door to her room, she's startled as Misty is seen comically in front of her room with a friendly, tomboyish smile on her face, greeting her, but at the same time, completely startling and scaring Dawn with how the orange haired girl appeared out of nowhere.
"Ack, M-Misty! Sorry… You scared me!" Dawn says while startled and bowing her head politely and apologetically out of fear what Misty would do to her if she rubbed her the wrong way. Misty seemed to be oblivious to this and smiles at Dawn in her usual friendly, tomboyish manner.
"Hm? Oh don't worry about it, bestie. I kinda came out of nowhere anyway!" Misty says cheerily and in a friendly manner. "I just wanted to check up on you! How was your first night sleeping in the manor? Your roommates cause you any trouble?" Dawn sweat drops as she remembers the whole scuffle with Selene and looks the other way.
"M-More or less… But they're friendly enough." She muses comically, avoiding mentioning Selene with her lesbian tendencies. "Anyways, I'm about to have breakfast and then I'm off to school. Would you like to join me?" Dawn asks. Misty seemed friendly enough when approaching her. Maybe she was thinking too hard… Maybe… Just maybe… They could actually be friends?
Misty looked as if she was considering it for a bit, but then, shakes her head. "I would love to, but I'm sorry. I'm about to go for my morning jog. I just thought I would drop by and check on how my bestie is doing! Maybe some other time though." She says in a friendly manner. "Maybe some other time though!" She then gives Dawn a friendly wave before heading the other way. Dawn waves as well before heading to the dining room for breakfast.
"Well, I really can't be too discouraged. Misty is probably busy as well. She's older than me and probably has a billion other things to take care of and worry about. I-It's not like she hates me or something like that… R-Right…?" Dawn shudders at this thought, the thought that maybe Misty was simply pretending to be friendly with her and actually hated her guts, looking for the right time to snap her pretty little neck. Dawn swallows hard at this gruesome imagery and tries to take her mind off it and decides to enjoy breakfast.
Dawn grabs a plate of toast, bacon and eggs from the mansion's buffet line and has line eyes as she tentatively takes a seat. 'I'll never get used to how diverse this mansion's cafeteria is…' She thinks to herself, finding it very very hard to choose from so many options available to her. As she takes a seat, she coincidentally finds herself sitting next to Ash, who has a comically large pile of food on his tray.
"Morning, Dawn!" Ash says in a cheerful, friendly manner while grinning goofily. "How are you holding up? Getting the hang of things here yet?" He asks. Dawn sweat drops at how much food Ash had on his tray
"More or less." Dawn says while still staring at the pile of food Ash was ready to dive into. "Um, Ash, it's kinda rude for me to ask this, but you're not actually going to eat all that, are you?" She finally asks, her genuine curiosity taking over. Ash blinks at this, but then laughs cheerily and smiles.
"Oh, this? Yeah, this amount is normal for me!" Ash explains while grinning goofily. "Back when we met for the first time yesterday, I already had lunch before we met, so when we went out to eat, I figured a little snack wouldn't hurt!" Dawn sweat drops at this comically, unsure which was more scarier: his sheer appetite, or Misty… She was veering towards Misty… "But that's enough about me. What are your plans today?" Ash asks Dawn. Dawn finishes up her breakfast and gets up from the table.
"School. I was just getting a quick bite to eat before I left." She explains to the raven haired boy. "See you later!" She waves to Ash politely and in a casual manner. The raven haired boy waves back before diving into his pile of food like a hungry wolf. Dawn takes a look at her watch, getting a look at the time, realizing all the distractions caused her to be later than expected.
"Ack, I got waaaaaay too distracted from all those diversions!" Dawn muses to herself while looking at her watch. "I'd better hurry if I'm going to follow that personal schedule I planned for myself!" She then makes haste and heads out of the mansion and heads towards Mauville University. It was within walking distance, but she would have to hurry if she didn't want to be late.
Moments later, Dawn managed to make it to Mauville University and took her seat in the orientation hall. The blue haired woman takes her seat and melts into her seat with line eyes and gets herself settled for the orientation speech. 'Phew, I made it right on time!' Dawn thinks to herself while relieved. As Dawn takes her seat, a blonde haired boy and a blue haired boy wearing a beret sit next to the blue haired girl. The blonde takes notice of Dawn and grins.
"Hey, I knew I recognized you! You're Dawn, aren't you? Long time no see, Dawn!" The blonde boy says while grinning cheerily. "It's me, Barry! And this is Lucas! We haven't seen each other since we graduated high school!" Dawn looks up at the blonde haired boy and looks up while surprised to see her friends from high school were in the same university as her.
"No way! Barry? Lucas? You two are here too?" She asks, glad to see some familiar faces around. Barry grins and puffs his chest proudly.
"Hehe, after you told us about your plans for college, Lukkie and I decided that we would try and surprise you! To great success it seems~! The two of us are staying in the campus dorms, but we can come over and visit you at that mansion you're staying at any time~!" Barry says triumphantly. "So, how are things at the mansion? How's the food there? Have you gotten yourself a boyfriend yet?" He asks comically. Lucas has line eyes and comically pushes Barry's overeager face away nonchalantly.
"Quit bombarding her with questions, Barry. Orientation is starting soon. We'll have plenty of time to catch up later." He says matter-of-factly. He then looks at Dawn and pauses for a bit before looking away while a slight red in the cheeks. "N-Nice to see you again too, Dawn…" He mumbles while hiding the deep blush in his cheeks. Dawn tips her head to one side and smiles at Lucas, completely missing the flushed look on Lucas' face.
"Yeah, you too, Lucas! Great to know I have some friends here!" She says cheerily. She then recalls Misty calling her 'bestie' and sweat drops. "Old, familiar friends, I mean…" She quickly adds as if looking to not incur the wrath of a certain orange haired girl despite the fact she wasn't present at the moment. Barry and Lucas raise an eyebrow at Dawn as she says this, but have no time to question her as their professor enters the classroom and orientation begins.
After their first day of university was over, Lucas and Barry meet up with Dawn outside of the university as she's heading back to the mansion. Barry grins at Dawn and waves cheerfully alongside Lucas. "Heya, Dawn, it's been a while since we've hung out, so wanna chill for a bit? We can catch up with things and you can tell us how things are at the mansion!" The blue haired girl was all for hanging out with old friends and smiles cheerily at this notion.
"I'm-" She chimes in, but is then cut off as she notices Misty and her eyes widen as she sees the orange haired girl heading her way, waving in her direction as she heads her way. "O-On second thought, I have things to take care of. Maybe tomorrow, okay? Okay! Byeeeeeeee!" She says in a hurry as she comically turns the other way and makes a break for it while Barry and Lucas sweat drop at how Dawn was acting. An orange blur is then seen rushing past them as Barry's eyes become white circles as he narrowly avoids being trampled by the orange haired figure. He's then seen shaking his fist at the figure comically.
"Hey, what's the big idea, lady~! I'll fine you ten million dollars~!" He exclaims comically while shaking his fist at Misty as she runs past them. Lucas tries to calm the raging Barry and then ponders what had Dawn so scared that she changed her mind so quickly,
"I hope nothing bad happened to her while she was in the mansion." He muses to himself. Although he had his doubts and concerns, they would have to wait another day seeing Dawn was probably in no place to explain herself here and now.
Meanwhile, back with Dawn, the blue haired girl is comically seen to be running as fast as she could away from the orange haired girl chasing after her, who is seen making a mad sprint after her. Dawn could only see this as terrifying, even though she had no idea why she was running in the first place, but she felt in her bones that if she stopped now and Misty caught up, she would be killed on the spot.
'Why is she still following me? Why is she so persistent?' Dawn thinks in her head comically while running for her life. 'Crap crap crap… If I stop now, she's going to murder me… She's definitely going to murder me!' Dawn could think of nothing else as she ran for her life. She turns her head to see how close Misty was to catching up to her, but then pauses as she sees Misty just standing there with her eyes shadowed and her fists clenched. Dawn slows down and pauses for a bit. Misty seemed genuinely upset and saddened by how Dawn was treating her.
"... Why are you running from me…?" Misty asks while sniffling and her eyes shadowed, her voice sounding genuinely hurt. "We're besties, right?" A twinge of guilt is caught in the back of Dawn's mind as Misty asks this question. She slowly walks towards Misty. Maybe she had the wrong impression of the girl this whole time. Maybe she just needed to be truthful and tell her how she felt towards her.
"... I'm sorry for running. I honestly have no idea why I ran from you in the first place." Dawn says apologetically to Misty while bowing her head. "But, this might have something to do with it. I'm going to tell you the honest truth, Misty and I mean no offense at all when I say this. I, in no way shape or form, think you're a bad person… but to be frank... You terrify me. When we first met, it seemed like you were a ticking time bomb, where if I wind up upsetting you, you would absolutely murder me. I'm really sorry if I offended you in any way, but this is really how I felt!" Misty looks up as Dawn genuinely bows her head and looks to repent for the way she had treated her and pauses for a bit. She was being honest and was telling nothing but the truth. Misty smiles at this and puts her hand on Dawn's shoulder.
"I'm sorry as well, Dawn. The way I looked at you when we first met, that was supposed to be a joke. I thought I would break the ice a bit with a little dark humor, but I guess I took it a bit too far. I guess I should have made that more clear with you. But I swear, I would never do anything to hurt you!" She says with a friendly, reassuring smile. "We're besties after all, right?" Dawn looks up at Misty. She sounded genuine, like she really valued her as her best friend.
"Yeah. Besties!" Dawn says with a small smile on her face, all her doubt and fear dissipating as she finds herself able to trust the orange haired girl. She then tips her head to one side and looks at Misty curiously. "By the way, I was just wondering. Why do you consider me your bestie anyways? We just met yesterday and our first impression of each other was… well… You know…" She muses while sweat dropping at the terrifying memory of Misty's deranged yandere face. Misty tips her head at this as Dawn asks her this and smiles.
"Because, you asked me to. You wanted to be friends, right? So I had no reason to deny you." Misty says honestly and with the purest of intentions. "No one, aside from Ash, had asked me if they wanted to be my friend. So when you asked me if you hoped we could get along and become friends, that made me really happy!" Dawn is genuinely touched hearing Misty say this to her and goes up to her and hugs her affectionately.
"Uwaaaaaaaaah, Misty, I'm so sorry for being scared of you!" Dawn bawls comically while moved to tears at how pure and genuine Misty was as a friend and a person. Misty simply pets Dawn's head in a big sisterly manner, as if there were no hard feelings.
"Well, we should head back to the mansion. I'm sure you have lots to talk about and ask now that we've broken the ice. Comfortably, that is, with no need to fear!" Misty says with a friendly, tomboyish smile. Dawn nods her head as the two girls head back to the mansion while holding each other's hand.
"So, about Ash." Dawn asks as they walk to the mansion. "If what you said earlier was a joke, how do you really feel about him?" She asks curiously. Misty has line eyes and shrugs tomboyishly as she asks this question.
"Weeeeeell, I will admit I guess I had a biiiiiiiiiit of a crush on him in high school. But I came to realize it was nothing more than a crush and well, he's a dense idiot, so he would never be able to reciprocate my feelings." Misty explains to Dawn. "I'm over it now though, no worries. I'm not all that interested in romance at the moment anyways! My only love at the moment is swimming and sports~!" She says with a wide, tomboyish smile while cracking her knuckles. Dawn smiles and sticks her tongue out playfully and teasingly at Misty.
"Sooooooooo… What you're telling me is he's free~?!" Dawn says coyly and jokingly, getting back at Misty for earlier, but at the same time, she genuinely wanted to know. Misty simply laughs at this with the same tomboyish smile and puts a hand on her shoulder.
"Ahahahahaha~! Oh bestie, you're so funny~!"Misty laughs cheerily and tomboyishly. She then grips Dawn on the shoulder hard while still having the same sweet, friendly, tomboyish smile on her face..".. Don't push your luck though~!" She adds sweetly and comically. Dawn sweat drops at this and winces as Misty grips her shoulder hard. This made her unsure if Misty was joking with her or if she was actually being serious and decided to not take the risk, no longer pressing the issue as she quickly changed the subject, the two enjoying their conversation and laughing as they walked long into the sunset paved road.
'I think I just might get used to living here!' Dawn says to herself as the two friends head back to the mansion together, the sun setting in the distance as the chapter comes to a close.
Phew, that's chapter 2 done and right in time for Thanksgiving! Sorry for the long wait. Bit of a writer's block with this chappy. I'm glad I gave myself the push to get it all done. Sorry if it seemed just a liiiiiiittle rushed. I really wanted to get this chapter done.
This one's a nice little wholesome chapter for you all to enjoy. I know, I know, you're all wondering where's the harem at? It'll come soon. This chappie is just to go a liiiiittle more in detail regarding Misty's character, yknow? She's a yandere… buuuuuuuut… I thought it would be interesting to put a fun little twist to things. XD Besides, you're all starting to see the signs of the harem forming itself, yes?
Also Selene and Lily are totally lesbian for each other… Even after all these years, I still ship the two of them. Not nearly as hardcore as before nor as much as I ship Pecorine x Karyl, but I still like quite a bit! Not sure if we're gonna see Sword and Shield chars in this story, btw, the cast is already quite jam-packed as it is. XD
Anyways, enough rambling. Hope you all enjoyed this chappy. I'm still a little rusty when it comes to writing and such and I'll get better as I get back into the swing of things! Here's the preview for the next chapter!
Next time: Things get wild and wacky when Dawn's high school friends, Lucas and Barry, come over for a visit. Chaos ensues… And Lucas seems quite uncomfortable seeing Dawn living in the same mansion with all these handsome young boys who seem to be eyeing her one way or another. Next time on Mayhem in Mauville Mansion, The Two Stooges. "Are they going to be alright living here?" Dawn asks herself while sounding concerned and doubtful.
