Immediately upon entering floroma town, ash and misty are enveloped by floating flower petals. Misty gasps in amazement at the sight, flowers as far as she can see in all manners of variety and colour!

"ash it's incredible! I've never seen so many different flowers in my entire life!" her face was absolutely beaming at the sight.

Floroma town isn't a large place, only a few sparse buildings in existence, but every other inch of town filled with some form of plant life or another.

"why don't we find a nice place and we'll relax?" ash asks, they'd been walking at least half a day so it was well overdue.

They walk past a small group of houses into some of the larger fields and find a nice shaded spot to sit under a tree. Ash takes his pokéballs and releases all of his monsters so they can all have a nice bit of fresh air and fun, misty seeing this quickly follows suit.

Propping themselves up against a tree they watch as their pokémon blow off steam. Some run and chase each other, others take time to lay in the field basking in the sunlight, and some take it as a prime opportunity to get a little floral snack!

"hey, misty.."

"yeah?" she's currently laying there, eyes closed as he turns to face her a bit more.

"about everything that's happened between us, I was hoping maybe we could talk about that."

"oh, what's on your mind ash?"

"on our way here I was thinking about all of it, what you told me that morning, about me not noticing, and um.. The things we've done to each other since."

Misty can sense how nervous he is and let's a little giggle out, catching herself though as clearly ash is trying to say something important.

"oh ash.. sorry, go on. Are you ok with what's happened?"

Looking her directly in her eyes he says with sudden confidence "misty, I want you to be my girlfriend. If we are going to keep exploring these feelings we have, especially as I'm just now realizing how much you mean to me in ways more than just as a traveling companion, if we're serious about this, I just want to make it more official. I want you to know that when I say I want to be with you that I mean it. Is that ok?" the determination in his face is evidence enough to her the level of promise he's trying to make to her.

"it'd mean the world to me if I could be your girlfriend." as she said it she realized that as quickly as things had progressed, it seems she never really let ash fully express his own feelings on the situation. She felt a little guilty to have pushed him so far so fast, but seeing the look on his face now it's clear he's thought about this more than just the fact they've been a bit intimate with each other, though it's certainly not out of the question that it's at least related.

The pressure of the situation off a little, ash lets out a long sigh of relief. Misty slides closer to him, leaning her head against his shoulder and placing her hand on his.

"this is important to you, isn't it ash?"

"while we were walking here I was thinking about all the friends I'd travelled with. All of the people who had left their lives behind to join me on my journey, or that I'd helped out in their own. There was a girl a long time ago in kalos who I think I knew was interested in me but I was far too dumb to notice. I thought about her and then the things you told me that morning about how you felt ignored and I didn't want you to have to feel that way anymore. I wanted you to know that I do think about you, that you do mean something to me, that I do like you more than just as a friend."

Misty lifts her head towards ash's face and sees that he's tearing up a little.

"ash, in the past two days I have seen you clearly make an attempt to pay more attention to me, doing and saying things you don't normally. You don't need to convince me this means something to you, I can clearly see it. I know my approach to the whole matter could have used some, control.. You've been more than accepting and I appreciate that."

"you did come on pretty strong.." he's blushing now, a smirk appearing on his face he leans his body more against hers

"well you didn't give me much choice.. I swear to arceus that if what I did hadn't worked not even the stars falling out of the sky in front of you would have gotten your attention!" she retorts with a big laugh.

Barely able to get words out past his own laughter he puts his arm around her and brings her close.

"clearly I noticed! But I won't say I wouldn't mind being shown a thing or two more!"

"oh really ash?.. What do you want to see hmm? I hope you're not just in it for my body.." she says this with a very lewd look on her face, reaching a hand up and rubbing it gingerly across his chest.

"oh, uh i-uh.. I didn't mean th-" confidence gone he's at a loss for words again, he'd clearly stepped further out of his comfort zone than he'd thought and misty was calling his bluff.

"relax" she says lightly. "I'm playing with you dummy.."

Moving her face closer to his they kiss tenderly, all of ash's fears and worries disappear and he relaxes into her embrace.

Breaking apart they settle back against the tree and watch their companions a bit longer. Dusk is falling and the sky turns those wondrous shades of pink, orange, and purple again.

Ash feeling happy that he actually spoke his mind and that she accepted his feelings, misty glad that ash showed off a side she hadn't seen before letting her know his actions and feelings were true.

As evening came they gathered their crew and looked to make way to the local center and turn in for the night.
