Lucius walked into the pub, looking around. It was fairly empty being that it was middle of the day. There was one witch sitting on a bar stool, drink in her hand, she was stirring it with a red stir stick with her other hand. Her chipped ultramarine nail polish glittered in the dim lights. Lucius walked over to her and sat on the stool next to hers.

"People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day," she commented, taking a drink as she watched Lucius order his usual scotch. When she raised an eyebrow, he smiled.

"It's five o'clock somewhere, right? Besides, I just arrived back in town after a business trip gone horribly wrong. I deserve it."

"Didn't say you didn't. I was just thinking, I know you from somewhere, don't I?" she asked.

"I don't believe so," Lucius answered. He was certain if he knew this young lady, there was no way he would have forgotten her, not for a minute. Her blue eyes searched his lined face and for a moment, he was sure she was looking straight into his soul.

"Maybe I'm wrong. I'm Luna by the way."

"Lucius."

"Oh! Malfoy?"

"Yes," Lucius answered, knowing there was no way this witch hadn't heard of him, everyone knew his family. He wondered if he'd seen her at Hogwarts, she was too young to have gone to school with him, but maybe his son? It didn't matter. Luna took another drink and looked up when the door swung open again. Her eyes widened.

"Shit," she muttered and it was Lucius' turn to stare. He'd never expected a curse word from her lips.

"Something wrong?"

"I don't know, what would call it if a person is following you around, trying to get information out of you because you happen to be the editor of an important paper and he's just walked in the door and I do not want to face him. Last time, he got violent," Luna answered with a shudder. Lucius frowned. Who would dare hurt this witch?

"I've got an idea, do you trust me?" Lucius asked, knowing time was ticking. The idea was something so absurd that he wondered where the thought had even come from. Luna nodded.

"I do, and you can trust me, Lucius," she said. Lucius put an arm around Luna's shoulder and pulled her close to him. He could smell the fruit flavored drink on her lips.

"I'm going to kiss you now, he'll only see a couple snogging, ready?"

"Yes, I am," she answered, wrapping her own arms around his neck and kissing him with a passion that shocked him. He returned the kiss, his hands gliding over her back, his fingertips toying with the hem of her jumper. He heard the door slam and slowly broke the kiss, his eyes meeting Luna's.

"Has anyone ever told you that you're a wonderful kisser, not that have much experience, but I did rather enjoy that. Maybe we should do it again, without having to only pretend?" she suggested, giving Lucius a smile. Lucius returned it, wondering how this could have even happened. He'd sworn off love, off romance, off women in general after Narcissa had left him. Now, this witch, this beautiful witch wanted to kiss him again.

"I don't know what to say."

"That means you want to but are afraid of something? Did someone hurt you in the past?" she asked, taking a sip of her drink. Lucius picked up his own, downing it. Maybe all he needed was a little liquid courage?

"My wife, she left me, said I was too into my work," Lucius stated, ordering another drink. It was placed in front of him. He reached for it, curling his fingers around the glass. Luna smiled at him again, and this time, he returned it.

"I think I know what that smile means," she teased. "I think you're starting to think that maybe you want to kiss me again."

Lucius was about answer when he lost grip on the glass, sending the liquid tumbling across the top of the bar and splashing onto Luna's jumper. She yelped, leaning back but ended up splattered anyway.

"I'm sorry."

"It's nothing that can't be fixed," she laughed. "They've got rooms upstairs, we could go up and talk? Or at least I can dry this wet thing?"

"Alright," Lucius agreed, letting Luna take his hand and lead him up the spiral staircase. Once upstairs, she opened one of the rooms.

"You're staying here, that's why you were downstairs in the middle of the day."

"You figured out my secret," Luna laughed, sliding her jumper off to reveal she was only wearing a pale blue bra beneath it. "I'm staying here while I'm working on a story, an exclusive about the mating habits of some of the local cryptids. There's these birds that do a whole dance to attract a mate, and then there's this type of lagomorph, that's what rabbits are. Most people think they're rodents," Luna paused, noticing Lucius staring at her. "You don't mind my rambling, do you?"

"No, actually, I find it refreshing. It's been a long time since someone has talked to me about random things that have nothing to do with business," he answered, glancing around the room. Luna's suitcase was sitting on the floor at the foot of the queen sized bed. Luna had tossed her jumper onto the floor and was pulling on a tank top. He had to admit, even though he'd liked the view of just her bra, the fit of the blue top was quite breathtaking. It also matched her eyes.

"Would you like to see my sketches? I do it all free hand, or maybe, you'd like to see how soft the mattress is?" she suggested, sitting down on the bed. There was a leather bound sketchbook on the nightstand. Lucius sat down next to her.

"I think, I'd like another kiss," he replied. Luna obliged, wrapping her arms around him and kissing him with the same passion she'd shown downstairs.

"You really are a wonderful kisser," she stated. "But before this goes too far, I want to know what this is? You saved me, but I am not interested in just some casual fling."

"Luna, I am not the kind of man, well, I used to be once, but I am too old for sleeping with every beautiful girl I meet. I feel something for you, something that I thought I'd never feel again. I thought you knew! That you felt it too, the moment we first kissed?"

"I did, I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page, Lucius. Now, how about you show me what else you're wonderful at?" Luna teased, running her fingers down Lucius' shirt, slowly unbuttoning it.

"Only if I am allowed the same," he replied, sliding a strap of her tank top down her shoulder. He really did love how the blue looked against her skin and how it was going to look on the floor, eventually when they were both ready.
