"Wait, so you and Lucius broke up?" Ginny asked, wrinkling her nose. "Why? You two seemed perfect for each other!"

"I don't even know, Ginny. One minute we were perfectly happy in love and the next, he's shutting me out. He won't look me in the eyes, won't touch me. Then he says maybe we should see other people, that my plan to use him wasn't going to work. I have no idea what he was talking about?"

"What would you even be using him for? It's not like the Malfoy name really means that much anymore, totally disgraced during the war. He is rich though?"

"And I'm just as rich, you wouldn't know it by looking at me or my father, but we're probably just as rich as the Malfoys used to be. If anything, I should have said he was using me for my money."

"Does he know you're rich?" Ginny asked.

"I have no idea. We never really talked about money, or anything actually," Luna giggled, gving Ginny a sheepish smile.

"Luna!"

"What? It was casual, at first, and now... now I guess it doesn't matter."

"It does! Does he even know you like him like that?"

"I think so? We didn't-"

"Yeah, got that. Of course, when Harry came back from the war, we didn't talk for a few months straight," Ginny laughed. "Maybe you should tell him how you feel? And tell him that you don't need his money or name? Wealthy famous people always seem so paranoid about people not wanting them for themselves and only wanting the fame and money. Maybe Lucius is like that? Or he's just evil and likes the fact he broke your heart? Just don't take any diaries from him," Ginny added. Luna rolled her eyes.

"You're never going to forgive him."

"Nope! I almost died! I don't care if he's changed, I still owe him a nice little hex for that. Oh, and for breaking your heart," she added, twirling her wand in her fingers.

"And this is why I love you, Ginny. Not that way I love him, mind you, unless-"

"Still not interested in you that way, Luna. Besides, Harry's not one to share."

Luna stood outside the outer gate of Malfoy Manor, holding a small bunch of flowers, all white and tied in a golden ribbon. She saw Lucius walk out the door and down the paved path.

"Luna?"

"Hi, Lucius, um, I wanted to talk to you, about how we left things," she said, looking down at the ground. Ginny had made some good points and Luna had to know exactly why Lucius had broken up with her. Once she knew that, maybe she could move on from it? "Oh, these are for you," she said, thrusting the flowers through the bars of the gate. Lucius took them and looked at them.

"You're right. We should talk, come in?"

"Thank you," she replied as the gate opened itself and she stepped through. Lucius led her to the porch and sat down in one of the white wicker chairs. Luna took the other next to him.

"Lucius-"

"Luna, I'm sorry!" Lucius blurted out. Luna blinked. Out of everything she'd expected to hear coming from Lucius' mouth, an apology wasn't one of them.

"I'm a fool. I listened to rumors, to people talking about how you could only be with me because of my name, my wealth. I couldn't believe that you could truly care about me. I was a monster during the war, a broken man afterwards and I couldn't see anyone ever loving me again."

Luna reached out and put her hand on Lucius'.

"And yet, I do. I love how you try so hard to prove that you're not the same man. I don't care about your name or money. I've heard that you're only with me because of my money, because you lost everything with the war. I know it's not true," she said, before Lucius had a chance to say just that.

"Does this mean you forgive me?"

"I do."

"Will you give me a second chance, Luna? I want to make this right, I want to make everything right for you," Lucius begged, his eyes searching Luna's face for some sign. She smiled at him, her eyes shining with tears of joy.

"Yes, Lucius. I'll give you a second chance, but if you break my heart again, I will not stop Ginny from hexing you," Luna stated. Lucius shuddered at the idea of Ginny Weasley, now Potter, hexing him and mentally vowed then and there he would never do a thing to hurt Luna.

"Thank you," he whispered, his shoulders sagging in relief as he leaned forward and gave Luna a quick kiss, which she returned happily.
