"Seize the day!" Luna yelled, sliding down the banister leading to the second floor of Malfoy Manor. Lucius stared at her. She was dressed in loose fitting clothing and was carrying what looked like a muggle water gun on her back.
"Luna? What are you doing?" he asked, blinking. Had his lover lost her mind? She smiled and tossed him a water gun.
"We're going to have a water gun fight. There's also water balloon mines hidden in the back grounds."
"What? Where?"
"I'm not telling you, it won't be nearly as much fun. Besides, knowing too much of your future is never a good thing. I can only promise you one thing, this is going to be fun, oh, and you're going to get wet," Luna announced, pulling a cord and letting a net of water balloons fall from the ceiling. Lucius blinked looking down at his now soaked suit. Slowly a smile spread across his face as he held up the water gun and looked at it. Luna had slipped past him towards the living room.
"Two can play at this game!" he stated, creating a water fountain from the tip of his wand. He quickly filled the gun and went hunting for Luna. He blinked when he realized the living room was now empty.
"This doesn't look very promising, does it?" he muttered, continuing to search for Luna. He finally spotted a flash of her blond hair and let loose a stream of water. He heard her shriek in delight and return fire. He neatly stepped aside, letting the stream of water hit the wall.
"Dang it!" he heard Luna exclaim as her footsteps fled towards the faucet to refill. Lucius sneaked up behind her and managed to make the water from the faucet fly up into a water ball and splash her head.
"Lucius! Wow, that was impressive."
"Does that mean you're admitting defeat?" he asked. Luna smirked, raising her gun at him.
"No it doesn't, not really, but For one brief embarrassing moment, I chose to give up. But your words were just the reminder I needed," she said, blasting him. This time, though, he didn't manage to avoid the stream. His white shirt, he'd ditched the jacket, turned nearly translucent.
"Which words?" he asked, dodging another stream by ducking past Luna and into the back grounds of the manor.
"Don't get bitter, just get better," she called after him. He smiled. Those words had served him well in business and sometimes in personal matters. Now, Luna was turning them against him in a way he found incredibly sexy.
He was waiting for her, near the pool. He'd already set up a trap involving a few of the balloon mines he'd found and defused. Now, all he had to do was wait. Soon, he heard her coming his direction.
"One more step," he whispered, watching her shadow cross the ground. Once she was in perfect position, he pulled the trip wire he'd rigged and the water balloons came crashing down on her. She burst out laughing as she started to search for him.
"Found you," she stated, grabbing Lucius' arm and pulling him out of his hiding place. He noticed she'd lost her water gun at some point and was currently dripping wet. Her clothing clung to her, but he could see the outline of her bra and knickers beneath them.
"I think I might have won," he stated, taking a step backwards, leading Luna to the pool. He'd just had it cleaned that morning knowing the weather was supposed to be nice.
"Really?" she said, tilting her head and taking another step back. "I think I'm the one winning," she countered. Lucius laughed, shaking his head.
"You've miscalculated, my Luna," he replied, gently pushing her backwards. Instead of falling into the pool, she twisted causing him to lose his balance and fly headfirst into the water. He landed with a loud splash. Wiping the water from his eyes, he could see Luna standing above him laughing.
"I hope it was worth it," he growled playfully, reaching up and grabbing her ankle. He pulled her gently causing her to fall into the water next to him. She surfaced, spitting water into his face.
"It was, just seeing the look on your face. You've never just let go and had fun have you?"
Lucius shook his head slowly.
"So… you're doing this for me?" he asked, unable to keep the shock from his voice. No one had ever done anything like this for him before. Gifts were usually tangible things, mementos, nothing that was an experience, and certainly nothing completely impractical. "You wanted to spend time with me, you wanted to just have fun with me?"
"Of course I did, Lucius! It's always been you, you're the only one I've ever wanted to spend my life with, and sometimes we all need something that isn't serious, that doesn't have consequences, not real ones anyway."
"I don't have the words to say," he whispered. Luna laughed and splashed him, before diving under the water. He waited for a moment until she came up again.
"Chase me?" she offered, about to swim off again. Lucius grabbed her arm, turning her so she was facing him.
"Will you stop being so difficult? I'm trying to say thank you."
"In that case, you're welcome!" she replied, giving him a quick kiss. He let her arm go and followed her under the water, marveling at how lucky he was, how much his life had changed.
"Marry me, Luna," he asked, once they broke the surface again. "I do not want to lose you, I don't want you to leave, not when you're the one thing in my life that makes it worth living."
"You should know by now that I'm not going anywhere," Luna laughed.
"Does that mean yes?" Lucius asked. "I know it's spur of the moment, I've got my mother's ring in the vault at Gringotts, we can go get it later today if you'd like."
"Of course it means yes, Lucius. I'll always be there for you, always care about you. Some people care too much. I think it's called love. I will always love you, and we don't need to worry about the ring for the moment. It's enough you and I know that we're engaged. Let's leave the world guessing about things for a bit. Want to spend the day here, swimming, enjoying each others company?" she asked, giving him a kiss as she slipped off the loose clothing she'd been wearing to reveal not a bra and knickers, but a magenta and violet bikini. Lucius blinked, staring at her. He'd forgotten how skimpy muggle swimwear could be.
"Are you going to kiss me or just keep staring? Remember, we're madly in love, so it's all right to kiss me anytime you feel like it," she laughed. Lucius took that invite and kissed her passionately, vanishing his own shirt and slacks in the process, while transfiguring his pants into a pair of muggle swimming trunks. The forecasters had been right, the weather was beautiful and he rather liked the idea of spending the day lounging around the pool with Luna.
