Variable of Interest

You hear Viktor exhale, his hand on his hip as he looks at the board. You don't see his face as his back is currently turned to you but you can imagine the frown very clearly. Viktor should have stopped working several hours ago yet he's still staring at the same problem.

"Stop staring, love." Viktor says without turning around. "Why are you even here still? Your shift ended hours ago."

You roll your eyes, "So did yours. And I planned on us going home together, it's you who's insisting on still working."

Viktor glances back at you right as you stand up from the chair your were sitting on. You smile at him as you start to walk towards him. He smiles briefly before returning his attention to the problem at hand.

There's a sigh heard as you wrap your arms around him and over his chest. Viktor immediately melts against you, his hand reaching up to envelop yours, "Science doesn't sleep." As if that's was a good point to make.

"But you need to. You're only human, Viktor. And as your girlfriend I won't stand here and watch you drown in hextech work like a maniac. So..." You tighten our grip around him as you begin to pull him backwards.

"Hey!" Viktor protests but does very little to actually try and break from your hold.

You sit him down in his chair, humming triumphantly. Viktor chuckles as he once again smooths over your hands with his own. He tilts his head backwards to get a better look at you, an amused smile on his face.

"What is this supposed to accomplish?" You shrug, Viktor smiles even more. "So nothing."

"Not true. I got you to smile." You cup his face with one hand as you lace your fingers with his with your other hand. Viktor closes his eyes, drinking in the gentle contact, "Come on Viktor, you and that beautiful mind of yours need to get some rest." You whisper against his forehead, slowly tilting his lips toward yours.

Viktor hums, his lips slightly parting in anticipation. Your lips brush against his, barely putting any pressure into it at first. Viktor moves his lips further against yours.

"Viktor, my boy are you still... oh! Pardon me!" Heimerdinger's chipper voice cuts trough your moment like an axe.

You're quick to jump apart from each other, which causes Viktor to stumble out of the chair and nearly fall over. Luckily he was able to catch himself on time.

"Oh. Professor. Good evening to you." Viktor blushes in embarrassment as he scratches the back of his head while you pray that staying completely still will somehow make you invisible. "We were just about to go."

Heimerdinger's small, bright eyes moves between you two, his mustache moving, indicating a smile behind them, "Of course. Of course."

Viktor blushes even more, like he's a kid who was just caught sneaking a girl into his room by his parent, "See you in the morning Professor. Shall we go now, my love?" Viktor offers you his hand.

"Uh... yeah, go. We shall. Go, now. Have a nice night Professor Heimerdinger." Both you and Viktor quickly walk past the yordle, heads kept low and avoiding his eyes.

"Ah. Young love." Heimerdinger chuckles to himself as he closes up the lab door.
