A.N: Hey guys, how is it going? Junior here. This is a fic of mine where I write battles between characters of pokemon anime. Initially, I wanted this to be a rewrite of battles that were not satisfactory enough. Then this would majorly be Ash vs someone but I wanted to write between any characters.

The first battle is Ash vs Brandon, I know hypocrisy, but

?: Hey the disclaimer man.

Junior: Ugh, you were not supposed to talk now. I am having a hard time writing this.

?:And that's why you need me, but first

"We don't own pokemon or anything related to it, yes even though we want a nintendo switch with legends Arcues."

Junior: And this is Jade, the annoying voice while I write my fics.

Jade: Annoying? I prefer perfectionist. Anyways, what this loaf of a meat is relaying to you, my enchanting readers, is that this is a redrafted play of all battles you fancy. Just PM me.

Junior: Does anyone even understand this pathetic being?

Jade:(Scoffs slightly) Disregard this loaf's bandy words and

Without further ado, let's take off.

In the vast world of Pokemon, we search for our intended target, Ash Ketchum whom Nintendo has been targeting for the last 2 or so decades.

"Wait? Don't you guys come in some suits or something?"

Ahh yes, before we get to our hero, we first meet Max!

Presently Max alongside May, Brock, Scott, Prof. Oak, Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny were in the seats around the battlefield of Battle Pyramid.

"Max, don't talk like that." May scolded her brother, "Sorry for my brother Scott."

The man in question simply waved his hand off. He was a stout, young looking, fair complex man in his late twenties. His sunglasses cover his eyes but one could easily picture a serene look in them that rivals his calmness in that matter.

"But you didn't say that Ash could be a frontier brain if he wins?" Brock questioned.

"Actually, he won't. He will be entered into the hall of fame for victors of the emerald frontier challenge. But that is the first step in becoming a frontier brain. You either enter the hall of fame or become an apprentice under a brain to get the eligibility to become a frontier brain, of course in addition to being an elite trainer. But what solidifies it is the voting. Hall of fame candidates need to secure at least three-fourth of votes of existing brains while an apprentice needs to get all the votes in favor." Scott explained, briefly this time.

"I think there is an error. Bcoz the last time I checked Ash wasn't an elite trainer." Brock said while all shot a look at Prof. Oak who gave a weak smile.

"Actually, if Ash manages to win the emerald challenge, he will be." Prof. Oak said.

"It will be amazing, a champion from Orange islands, they are gaining in popularity too nowadays. This will bring my dream to reality." Scott with excitement in his voice.

"And what exactly is it?" Max asked, with an ever present hint of sarcasm and suspicion.

"I created this battle frontier to bring out different styles in pokemon battles. I believe that a way to a trainer's heart is a battle and as such, there are far too many battle styles that don't shine due to league restrictions. And my goal is to let people know of these styles." Scott said while looking above as the dome above opened, "And I am very ecstatic to have Ash as a part of this. Nobody on the frontier represents my policy of trainer's heart more than Ash himself."

"Aren't you already in trouble with Anabel alone?" Prof Oak asked, shaking his head negatively.

"I learned from her and thus am waiting for Ash to reach elite level. Also, the kid fair and square got enough achievements to back off people." Scott said back.

"What happened with Anabel?" May asked.

"Heh…. You see it was a starting time for me and my" Scott was meekly explaining when Prof Oak bluntly put it.

"He took Anabel in before she could even participate in her first league. The league was not ok with an inexperienced trainer being given a frontier. Thus the present 'elite trainer only' restriction." prof said.

"Anyways, let's see the battle first." Scott said.

Back to the battlefield.

"This might be my newest pokemon, but don't let it fool you." Brandon said as he threw a pokeball. "Aerodactyl, I need your assistance."

"Aerodactyl huh? Brings back memories." Ash said.

"Memories?" Brandon asked, looking at aerodactyl and Ash.

He is pretty sure Aerodactyls are extinct and the fossil renovation technology is still new in these regions. And he was in the group that brought the technology to Hoenn and subsequently Kanto.

"My charmeleon's evolution. Go Charizard." Ash called and the mighty fire dragon emerged.

It didn't make sense before but now it did. Grand canyon. So this must be the Charizard that evolved there.

When Charizard locked his eyes with Aerodactyl, he smirked. Then proceeded to let out a roar that shook the stadium. Aerodatcyl, never backing down from any challenge due to his alpha pride, returned the favor.

"Let the battle begin." The referee declared. And immediately the aerodactyl and charizard took it to the sky. But Charizard was clearly more nimble and smooth than Aerodactyl.

"Aerodactyl use agility." Brandon called.

Aerodactyl's body got a faint glow as it sped up in a blink was moving faster than one could track. When it reappeared in front of Charizard, it was moer faster than before in its movements.

"Charizard don't let it get out of your sight." Ash commanded.

And even though aerodactyl has a higher base speed and has its speed increased by two stages, Charizard is able to not lose sight of Aerodactyl.

"Use DragonBreath." Ash called.

"Aerodactyl, you too use DragonBreath." Brandon called.

Just when charizard's attack was about to hit, aerodactyl fired.

"Wow, it is very fast." Max said.

"Yes, I wonder how Ash will hold up." May exclaimed.

Even though Charizard fired back just when the attack was mere feet away from touching him, Charizard's dragon breath instantly knocked back the attack onto Aerodactyl and exploded in its face.

"Charizard, grab and use seismic toss." Ash commanded as Charizard flew towards Aerodactyl who was still reeling from an explosion in his face.

"Aerodactyl use Ancient Power." Brandon called, with Aerodactyl getting his gear back just in time and firing his ancient power at the incoming Charizard.

But it didn't make any difference.

While most thought Charizard would be hit badly by the incoming rocks, Charizard flew straight through them.

Dodging to the side in the blink of an eye to escape rocks, sometimes even folding his wings to squeeze through the opening, Charizard was in front of Aerodactyl in seconds.

"DragonBreadth" Ash ordered, but before he could finish Charizard fired.

"Dodge and use DragonBreadth." Brandon called, amazed by the display.

Due to raised speed, Aerodactyl dodged the thin column of fire and ignited his own attack at Charizard's back.

But amazingly, Charizard turned in time as fired his dragon breath, but the attacks are at a stalemate. Near Charizard's face this time.

"Full power." Brandon smirked.

But Ash too smirked, "Full power? Ok, you heard them Charizard."

This time the result was comical. While Aerodactyl's breath grew by a noticeable margin, Charizard's doubled in size and cut through Aerodactyl's one as if it was thin paper. It was as if Charizard was holding back just to show who the weakling is.

'Nolan wasn't kidding when he said this Charizard is a dragon in power.' Brandon thought.

Needless to say, Charizard struck hard and Aerodactyl recoiled due to paralysis.

"Now." Ash called.

This time, Charizard flew at great speed, enough to rival Aerodactyl and took it further into the sky and did 2 rounds quite fast and descended.

"Use steel wing to get out." Brandon called.

But Aerodactyl was out of his mind from the attack and spin. As soon as Charizard finished, the land shook as Charizard tossed Aerodactyl like a rag doll. When the dust cleared, Aerodactyl was knocked out.

"Wow, Charizard is even stronger now. He looks undefeatable." May exclaimed.

"Charizard is Ash's first ace next to Pikachu. He is obviously strong." Brock exclaimed.

"But don't underestimate bulbasaur." Prof Oak said, defending his friend.

"We have to see that. But it is true that Bulbasaur isn't someone to be looked down upon." Brock said.

"Regirock, I need your assistance." Brandon called.

"Charizard return. Thanks buddy. Go bulbasaur." Ash called.

"Battle begin." Referee called.

"Bulbasaur use razor petal." Ash called.

"Razor petal?" May asked.

"Ash's Bulbasaur wanted to learn petal dance ever since your bulbasaur did it. But no matter what, Bulbasaur's razor leaves weren't strong enough to be a petal dance. But by the end, Razor leaf was significantly stronger and faster. But it looks like Ash trained it to the next level." Prof Oak explained.

True to professor's words, Bulbasaur's razor petal move had multiple wide-ranged barrages of fast and quick spinning small leafy discs that were going towards Regirock like a hurricane wave in a condensed beam.

Brandon gritted through his teeth as he realized this move is having some damage on Regirock.

"Regirock, use ancient power." He called.

The rocks collided with the storm, resulting in a small explosion in the middle of the field. Regirock's body glowed red as his stats were increased by secondary effect.

"Now use lock on." Brandon called.

"Charge your solarbeam" Ash called.

Brandon smiled at Ash's counter. It would have worked if it was any other pokemon but not a legendary with stat increased.

"Use Zap cannon." Brandon called strongly. Regirock got the hint as he charged a strong zap cannon and unleashed his zap cannon.

"Now, unleash your solar beam." Ash called.

The blinding white light from Bulbasaur's back fought with the zap cannon. And soon enough the beam cut through the cannon, causing another explosion. Out of the smoke, what was left of the Solar beam attacked Regirock who slipped back an inch.

Brandon narrowed his eyes, Bulbasaur looks like a really strong special attacker. He could even bet that he can take on a venasaur. Impressive strength, but maybe not enough.

"Use zap cannon." Brandon ordered.

"Dodge it and use vine whip." Ash ordered.

Bulbasaur used his vine whips to get off the ground by slapping them on ground and escaped the fast coming Zap cannon. And Bulbasaur then proceeded to attack Regirock with his vines.

"Grab the wine and reel him in." Brandon called, but Ash smiled.

When Bulbasaur was 5 feet away, Ash made his move before brandon.

"Use brick break." Brandon called.

"Now sludge bomb." Ash ordered.

Due to close proximity, the attack struck true but bulbasaur was hit by a strong brick break.

Bulbasaur skidded to the ground a few feet away but Regirock was toppled from the proximity of the splash. Bulbasaur stood back up, with a few scratches.

"Now use leech seed." Ash called. Bulbasaur immediately launched the seed which latched onto Regirock and zapped its energy.

"Regirock ancient power." Brandon called, knowing he needs to end this faster.

"Dodge and use razor petal." Ash called.

Bulbasaur dodged most of the rocks and those that got near were smashed by the razor storm. Finally when bulbasaur found the opening, he unleashed quite the attack on Regirock.

"Use brick break." Brandon called as Regirock's stats were increased again.

"Solar Beam." Ash called.

Bulbasaur gathered his energy as Regirock charged towards him with increased speed and struck him true.

Bulbasaur was flung towards the wall by the blow but he turned the table as he bounced from the ball and reached above Regirock.

'What is with this kid's pokemon bouncing from walls? That is not the purpose of walls.' Brandon thought as he gritted his teeth seeing the solar beam ready to hit head on.

"Brick Break." Brandon ordered.

Regirock powered through the solarbeam, slashing at it while Bulbasaur remained above and kept on unleashing his solar beam. Brandon had to admit it was quite the long one.

When the attack ended, Regirock was still standing but bulbasaur was panting. But then Regirock was suddenly zapped of his energy as he fell face down to ground while Bulbsaur's bulb glowed signaling the absorption of energy.

"Regirock is unable to battle. Bulbasaur wins." The referee declared, looking at bulbasaur.

'Great job bulbasaur, you made my venusaur proud.' Prof Oak thought back in the stands.

Even as Brandon was retrieving his pokeball he was waiting. 'Any minute now' he thought. "Registeel, lend us your assistance."

"Bulbasaur return. You did a great job buddy." Ash said as he recalled bulbasaur. "Go squirtle."

"Battle begin." The referee called.

"Registeel sandstorm." Brandon called, wanting any chip damage he could.

"Squirtle use rapid spin and get in there." Ash ordered.

Squirtle's rapid spin plowed through the sandstorm and hit Registeel with great speed on the knee causing it to lose control of the sandstorm. Thus, the sandstorm has not fully kicked up yet.

"Wow, squirtle looks completely unaffected." Max pointed out as Brock looked at Officer Jenny.

"Of course Kid, he is the leader of the strongest firefighter squad in all of kanto." She exclaimed proudly.

"I didn't know that." May said, "Ash was not joking when he said these four are his strongest ones."

"Registeel, complete the sandstorm." Brandon commanded.

"Use hydro pump." Ash called.

Squirtle didn't stop his spinning and released a torrent of water jets surrounding him as it was above Registeel in the middle of a sandstorm.

The five holes of Squirtle's shell were blasting out water continuously, which formed tentacles around Squirtle. The tentacles were powered from the rotation speed, thus were continuously slapping Registeel and constricted his movements. Many tentacles kicked up dust circularly and further increased the sandstorm, which further increased the number of tentacles from Squirtle's attacks.

"What a beautiful move!" May exclaimed with her eyes shining despite the amount of dust that is being kicked up.

"This is Squirlte's idea of putting off flames, but this would generally make rain splatter that caused the flames to lighten, not a full on water tentacle god." Jenny exclaimed, taking notes.

"Well, that is Ash for you. He brings out the best in pokemon and their true inner strength." Brock exclaimed.

"Use zap cannon." Brandon ordered.

Registeel somehow powered through the water tentacles, slapping him at every turn and releasing a zap cannon. Squirtle was surrounded by a brown aquatic wave of water that had most dirt kicked up and was in equilibrium with sandstorm's speed. Thus, when Zap cannon went up to the ring, instead of blasting it was swinged away from the currents movement, yet when the move blasted, it caused a section of Squirtle's watery prison to be splashed out and the feedback loop between Squirtle and Sandstorm ended.

Brandon thought he was an idiot for handing Ash the perfect conditions to ruin him. Registeel was badly hit while squirtle was reeling away from Registeel due to residual spin.

"Now use zap cannon." Brandon called.

"Use rapid spin and go to the walls." Ash ordered, which got a raised eyebrow from Brandon.

Squirtle nonetheless did what his trainer said and started to use his rapid spin to glide along the walls.

'This kid and walls. Maybe I should have a battle in the jungle like…. No, that would be giving more ammo to this kid.' Brandon thought.

Just as squirtle was about to crash into a corner, Ash called, "Hydro pump, disc mode."

Unlike before, Squirtle's hydro pump formed a concentrated disc around himself. He hit the corner and bounced away, on the way the disc further propelled the zap cannon into the corner creating an explosion that further Squirtle. Towards Registeel.

"Zap cannon quick." Brandon ordered.

Registeel powered a quick zap cannon and shot it forward, but the disc was only a few feet away. And somehow it pushed the zap cannon towards Registeel in front of the hydro pump.

The resulting explosion flung both Registeel and Squirtle away, Squirtle going feet while Registeel a few inches.

There were still some sparks coming from squirtle showing that he was hit with a zap cannon. But Registeel too was hit by its own Zap cannon and hydro pump.

"Return squirtle. Thanks buddy." Ash said, "Go Charizard."

'These are a bit too much even for me. They are unnaturally fast for their species and quite strong hitters and he seems to have unbeatable strategies for them.' Brandon thought.

"Better end this quickly, use lock on." Brandon ordered.

"Use overheat." Ash ordered.

Charizard took a deep breath and reared his head back as the target was locked on. Then Charizard unleashed his torrent of flames that completely engulfed Registeel. The flames were not widespread but completely concentrated near Registeel who was indirectly facing a wrath of the Sun.

When the flames died down, the ground beside Registeel was still fuming and Registeel fell forward.

"Registeel is unable to battle." The referee declared.

"Regice, your assistance is required." Brandon declared as he tossed his last pokemon. It was embarrassing that he couldn't hold long enough with Registeel.

"Use Ice beam." Brandon ordered.

"Dodge it and use dragon breath." Ash called.

Brandon didn't understand why Ash would go for dragon breath but he thought maybe Charizard's only fire type move is overheat. Which was a good advantage to have, but a dangerous one too considering Charizard's flame power before.

"Overheat." Ash called.

"Use water pulse." Brandon ordered.

The flames once again overtook regice, but were less hot compared to last times. Yet Regice was taking more time to deal a blow. When the flames ended, the sparks on Regice's body showed why. Paralysis due to dragon breath, risky but clever.

"Now." Brandon ordered.

"Sunny day." Ash ordered.

The sun was late as the water pulse hit Charizard. Yet Charizard stood back up.

"Good. Use overheat now." Ash ordered.

"Counter with your Ice beam." Brandon commanded.

Even with the sun, the ice beam is tied with Overheat. Brandon smirked as Regice was finally making some progress in his direction.

"Go use seismic toss." Ash commanded.

And like before, Regice was in the air before long, in revolution.

"Water pulse." Brandon commanded.

Miraculously, Regice conjured a water pulse mid-descent, through paralysis. It blasted the pulse in between Regice and Charizard, causing both to take damage from the explosion. But due to types, Charizard took much damage. Yet Regice was half flung to Earth from the momentum. Not a full power seismic toss but a move nevertheless. Then the Harsh Sun ended.

"Charizard return." Ash called "Let's do this. Pikachu, I chose you."

"Regice use ice beam." Brandon said, finally something his way.

"Use quick attack to dodge it." Ash ordered.

While Pikachu dodged the attack, the ground where he was is now covered with slight frost. This continued as Pikachu kept on running around Regice.

"Iron Tail." Ash called when Pikachu was near enough.

"Brick break." Brandon called.

The attacks clashed and Pikachu flipped back into the air as he landed back on the ground. Regice too was dragged back a few inches.

"Use Ice beam." Brandon called again as the ground near Regice was not frosty enough from the first ice beam, most likely due to Charizard's overheat.

"Use thunderbolt." Ash called.

Both attacks clashed and resulted in an explosion.

Brandon was not sure if Ash caught on or not but he was ready to take this risk.

"Blizzard." Brandon called.

The entire battlefield was covered in ice as blizzard caused the frost to solidify the field into ice. Brandon could see that ice near his side was comparatively thin, but that is not visible to an untrained eye.

"A clever strategy. Regice will be faster on ice, but the same cannot be said for Pikachu." Brock said in the stands.

"Regice use Ice beam" Brandon called.

"Use quick attack and dodge this." Ash called.

But due to ice, Pikachu was steered chaotically across ice until he was hit with ice beam.

'It seems as if Brandon has trained Regice for speed and accuracy here.' Ash thought.

"Use Rest." Brandon called, as Pikachu was now in between ice tombs.

"Use iron tail and get out from there." Ash called.

Pikachu broke from the ice and climbed onto the nearest ice pillar. "Volt tackle" Ash called.

Pikachu pushed off from the pillar with a charged volt tackle, the height allowing him to aim perfectly without touching the ice once again. But during the time Pikachu stabilized himself, Regice woke up.

"Use Ice beam." Brandon called as Regice was standing on the thin side. If the Iron tail connects, the blow to the ground beneath will cause a crack in Ice.

The attack hit true and Pikachu was knocked back, but he flipped and landed again, albeit this time he was about to fall face down.

"That's it. Pikachu use Iron tail on the ice." Ash ordered.

PIkachu rooted his Iron tail into the ice, "Quick attack, charge it up." Ash commanded.

"Blizzard." Brandon called.

As Pikachu continued to charge his attack, the air around him coconned with his increasing speed and his fur was standing on. The blizzard hit true and Pikachu was encased in an ice cocoon due to the Blizzard freezing the air around him.

"Rest." Brandon called.

"Volt tackle." Ash called.

And this time Pikachu launched like a missile at Regice, breaking the cocoon around him and tackled Regice.

Due to charged speed, the blow was quite strong as Regice skidded a few feet back and all the thin ice underneath him broke. And Ash did notice this.

"Go use iron tail, back to back." Ash called. With Pikachu on broken open ice, it gave him enough grip to jump and land an iron tail again and again.

"Brick break." Regice woke up after the second blow and countered the next one with a brick break. But unlike before, the attacks didn't clash for long.

As soon as the brick break connected, Pikachu immediately twirled back, using the impulse from counter attack to flip above and land the iron tail on Regice's head, which gave Regice a nice headache.

"Thunderbolt." Ash called. Pikachu, now above Regice, unleashed a strong thunderbolt that broke away all the ice near Regice.

"Ice beam" Brandon called, wanting the ice field to stay.

"Quick attack." Ash called.

Regice violently spun around, getting Pikachu off and re-icing a few parts of the field. After Pikachu landed, he quickly bolted towards Regice, hitting on the arm causing the attack to miss as Regice was rotated. This continued for two more times.

"Iron tail." Ash called then, causing Regice to take quite a blow as the momentum from quick attack carried on.

Regice fell face down on Earth as he fainted.

"Regice is unable to battle. Challenger Ash is the winner." The referee declared.

"Wow, Ash's pokemon are quite strong." Max exclaimed.

"That is because they pushed themselves to be. Bulbasaur would quite often stop fights between groups and he did train with a very strong Venasaur to be the strongest at Ranch." Prof Oak explained.

"Even though the squirtle squad is about teamwork, Ash's squirtle is the backbone and powerhouse of the squad. He had to even put a stop to rampaging dragons and fire types." Officer Jenny said, quite proudly.

"And Charizard is training at the Charicific valley. There are not only more mature and developed charizards but also more versed and powerful charizards than Ash's. Yet he always does his best and has reached quite the heights." Brock exclaimed.

"Pikachu has seen as many battles and battle strategies as Ash himself. He fought against many foes, getting stronger each and every time." Max said with a smile.

"Bond frontier." Scott said for the first time.

"What is that?" May asked, confused.

"Yes, Bond frontier Ash ketchum. Ash mastered the deep bond between a pokemon and trainer. The spinning hydro pump trick, razor petal and even the charged volt tackle, these all come from Ash's true understanding of his pokemon and their complete trust in him." Scott said.

"This is Ash afterall, and he might not agree to be a frontier." Prof Oak said.

"We can see about that." Scott said as Ash and his pokemon striked their victory pose.

"I am surprised and offended that at least bulbasaur didn't evolve." Brandon said.

"Hehe, you see bulbasaur doesn't like to evolve and if he doesn't want to, he need not." Ash replied sheepishly.

"The bond between you and your pokemon is one of the best I have ever seen. You have reached the true strength of a pokemon trainer Ash. You are truly eligible for the brave symbol." Brandon said as he smiled.

"Thanks." Ash said.

And there you have it, Brandon vs Ash, with our OG4 being the powerhouse they should be. I hope you like my work…
