''Oh no Ash just lost a Pokémon.'' Delia said sadly. She knew that this was likely given how powerful her estranged husband's Pokémon were, still she never liked any of her son's Pokémon be defeated. Lance however could not resist given a small jab to Ash's Pokémon in spite of the immense respect he had for him.

''It was too arrogant but that is common with Garchomps especially with young males.'' Lance said with a dismissive tone. Misty wasn't so sure of that she knew Ash had drilled into his Pokémon how powerful Red's team was and they had seen for themselves how tough this battle would be.

''Red is just that strong.'' she whispered to herself.

''Well there's no doubt who Ash will sent out.'' Lorelei said. ''That Sceptile of his really did a number on my Pokémon. Outside of water a Lapras no matter how strong is a sitting target especially to a fast grass type Pokémon.''

Misty hoped she was right because this match was far from over.

''I choose you Sceptile.'' Out came his most powerful Pokémon from the Hoenn region and one of the few that had faced and defeated a legendary Pokémon. Calm and cool as ever he sized up the Lapras that was facing before him. A confident smirk formed on his face with his signature twig, he knew what he was looking at and unlike Garchomp he wasn't going to allow arrogance defeat him. He was amused that the arrogant dragon went down, after his boast to the others that Ash would only need him to win this match, perhaps the arrogant welp would become more humble after this. Sceptile knew the difference between arrogance and confidence and he was the latter.

Taking a look around he pieced together what had happened on the battlefield and he faced his opponent. The Lapras facing him had a cool expression on his face giving away nothing to him. Sceptile was weary true Lapras was a water type but it was also an ice type and he knew how powerful Red's Pokémon were. Ash told him to be careful of the two ice paths Lapras had made. ''Sceptile be careful Lapras can still move quickly even if we are on a mountain.''

Red of course said nothing but he did allow himself a small smirk than Lapras fired an ice beam at Sceptile which he dodged easily. This was a faint to forced Sceptile to land on one of the lce paths but Ash was thinking ahead ''use Leaf Blade on the ice''. which his Pokémon did which created a tremendous amount of power, shattering the ice field of course the ice shards from the destroyed paths would hurt but that was a hard choice that Ash had to make and he knew Sceptile understood that. Without a way to slide across the mountain field The Transport Pokémon was a sitting Psyduck.

Ash knew his Pokémon had the type advantage overall and the speed advantage so he decided he was going to go all in to finish Lapras off as fast as he could. after all it was effected by the weather here unlike Sceptile. The hail an the ice splinters were going to hurt Sceptile and he didn't want an Ice type one the field any longer.

''Leaf blade.'' Sceptile began to run at Lapras but then Ash noticed it's eyes beginning to glow. 'Oh no confuse ray.''

''Quick Sceptile use bullet seed and be sure to hit Lapras on the head. " Quickly changing his attack Sceptile did as he was told unleashing the seeds right at Lapras' forehead before it could compete the devastating psychic move. While it didn't do enough to take down Lapras it did cause it to lose it's focus and lose track of His foe. Sceptile and Ash was ready to take full advantage of that.

''Use Leaf blade now and keep going until it stops you or it faints.'' Not needing to be told twice the mighty grass type used it's speed to quickly get over to his foe and took full advantage of it's distraction and pain. With a loud roar Sceptile used his most powerful move repeatedly on the helpless Transport Pokemon. Ash could sense this battle was just about over.

''Sceptile, Don't give in use Leaf Blade with everything you got.'' Sceptile begin to charge up to finish his foe once and for all with despite Lapras trying to defend it self with an Ice Beam, it was no match for the Leaf Blade. Sceptile unleashed his final cry.

''SCEPTILE'' and with that final blow across it's body Larpas fainted. ''Great job Sceptile" Ash praised his Pokémon for his victory while he gave his trainer a proud nod and thumbs up.

''Well'' Lorelei at she watched the scene unfold on screen ''Looks like Master Red is just as vulnerable to that tactic as anyone.'' said with a smirk. Her own Larpas had been defeated by the same moves when she battled Ash when he was battling the Elite 4 to become the champion of Kanto.

Misty couldn't help but notice the Ice Master's tone.

Red recalled Lapras with the same cool impassionate expression on his face but Ash thought he saw something in his fathers eyes for just a second it looked like pride. "Could he actually be proud of me?"Ash however had no doubt to dwell on this he had to continue the battle. ''He only has one type advantage Pokémon left over Sceptile but will he use it here?'' Ash said to himself.

Red answered quickly ''Venusaur''Came the loud cry an interesting choice giving that it was not nearly has fast as Sceptile and a Solar Beam that would do real damage to a Pokémon as strong as Sceptile who was the same Pokémon type as that move would take a while to charge up . Sceptile was also much faster than the Venusaur which was build like tank but almost as slow as a Muk however Sceptile has no attacks that were non grass type moves that were reliable outside of Pound, Quick attack, and Agility.

''Looks like we'll have to grind this one out. All right Sceptile use quick attack." Sceptile did as he was told and true to form the Venusaur was unable to move and once more it didn't even try. ''I suppose it would be useless for it to do so.'' Ash thought. Still Like all of Red's Pokémon thus far Venusaur was much bigger and stronger than an average member of it's species. So was Sceptile.

"We could try using Iron Tail but Sceptile hasn't mastered it Yet." HE didn't want to take the risk but them again it wasn't like Venusaur was going to move fast, then Ash began to feel the ground move under him . Earthquake but that was a ground type move and it wouldn't do much a grass type still it was easy to see what Red was doing. Sceptile get ready to move when Earthquake ends.'' Sceptile began to brace himself for the inevitable attack and sure enough it came.

Vine wipe, the attack came fast as soon as Earthquake was over but Sceptile was faster and began to move toward his foe for another attack. ''Well no time like the present.'' Ash said to himself.

''Sceptile use Iron tail'' Sceptile's tail began to glow white but Venusaur had it's own attack waiting for him, as soon as Sceptile tail made contact a yellow powder began to fall on Sceptile. ''Damn it. Is that Stun spore?'' Ash curse to himself, unfortunately it was now the speed advantage was complete gone. Sure the Iron Tail worked and that did some damage but clearly Red was willing to take that pain to trap Sceptile.

Sceptile has managed to land half way across the field from Venusaur after his attack before the full effects of the Sun Spore took effect but once it did Sceptile would be helpless. Ash was able to call an attack but before he could Sceptile was hit with a powerful Vine wipe and this time this nothing could be done to avoid it. The two powerful vines hit Sceptile square in the chest and when he tried to get up he was picked up and slammed into the ground. While this didn't knock out the proud Pokémon Ash could see where this was going.

''Sceptile Can't move which means he can't battle.'' Even though he could tell Sceptile didn't want to return to his ball and leave the battlefield there really was no choice he could barley move due to the effect of stun sport. Sceptile could sense what he was able to do and tried to shake his head no, he wanted to finish this battle damn it. By now Red was getting boring with this drama and Venusaur could sense his trainer boredom and felt the same as well. it was time to end this battle no matter how determined Sceptile was.

''SAUR'' he send out his vine wipe again to lift up Sceptile and this time he was lifted high into the air and slammed down on the field. Ash didn't need to look at Sceptile to know that know he was out. "Return Sceptile. Good Work out there take a rest.''

''That's two down for both of us'' Ash though this battle was not close to being finished.
