Chapter one
The snap that broke the universe
"You should have aimed for the head." Thanos breathed out, snapping his fingers, which held the infinity stones.
"No!" Thor yelled, holding stormbreaker in Thanos's chest.
Konoha, an hour earlier
"Oi, Boruto!" A tall blonde with three whisker marks yelled.
"Tou-chan, come on Kawaki, Hima, and kaa-chan are waiting for us-ttebasa!" Boruto yelled as he ran down the street holding Naruto's wrist.
"Baka kawaki, always doing things." Boruto said to himself as they made their way to Himawari and Hinata.
"Boruto, can you please stop pulling me along?" Naruto sweatdropped.
Boruto realized what he was doing and let go of his father and blushed. "Baka tou-chan." Boruto murmured. Naruto smiled at his son's antics and ruffled his hair. "Hehe." Naruto soon walked over to Himawari and picked her up.
"Hey, tou-chan?" Himawari asked. "Yes?" Naruto answered. "Have you seen Kawaki-kun?" Naruto looked around.
"Now that you say that, I haven't." Hinata spoke up before they could put together a theory. "Kawaki-kun went to get something for Himawari-chan." Himawari blushed and smiled.
"He didn't have to do anything." Himawari said, obviously embarrassed her adoptive brother would get her something. "I didn't do what?" A voice spoke out from above them.
"Kawaki baka!" Boruto yelled at his adoptive brother. "Shut it, shrimp." Kawaki narrowed his eyes, smiling inwardly. He liked Boruto, of course he would never admit it.
"Let's go boys." Hinata said, cutting the two from their bickering. "Hm." Boruto huffed.
A few minutes before the snap
Naruto and his family were sitting by a tree, enjoying each other's company when a portal with a gold outline formed a few meters away. "Naruto Uzumaki?" Naruto stood up to protect his family.
"Who the hell are you?" Naruto asked, seeing a beaten man with a red cape. "My name is Doctor Steven Strange, and the universe needs your help." Dr. Strange said.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Naruto, still cautiously asked.
"Ugh I don't have time to-" Dr. Strange saw the effects of the snap. "I'm too late." Naruto turned around to see Hinata, Himawari, and Kawaki disappear in ash.
"N… Naruto-kun." Hinata said before falling to her knees, succumbing to ash. "HINATA!" "KAA-CHAN, HIMA!" Naruto and Boruto screamed before getting tossed into the portal, along with their gear.
"Dr. Strange, who are these two?" Peter Parker asked. "We don't have time, just make sure these two get back to earth." Dr. Strange said.
"Mr. Stark… I don't feel so good." Peter said as he fell into his mentor's arms. "I… I don't know what's happening, I.. I…" Peter stuttered. "I don't wanna go, I don't wanna go Mr. Stark please." Peter fell onto a boulder. "I'm sorry." Peter said before succumbing to the snap.
"That's…" Naruto looked in shock at how people were falling like his daughter and wife.
"Tou-chan?" Boruto looked at his father with tears in his eyes, finally realizing the situation. "Are Kaa-chan… Hima…" Naruto nodded.
"No." Boruto inhaled. Boruto hugged his father tightly, crying in grief. Naruto, in grief confided in his son until Dr. Strange spoke up. "Uzumaki, before I go, I must trust that you go with that man." Dr. Strange pointed at Tony.
"Why?" Naruto said, voice breaking. "Because he is the key to getting your loved ones back." Dr. Strange hovered over to Tony.
"We're in the endgame now." Dr. Strange spoke for the last time before disappearing.
Naruto and Boruto cautiously walked over to Nebula and Tony. "You're going to explain everything that is going on, do you understand me?"
"Who are you first?" Nebula asked, Tony walking around, still dazed about what just happened.
"My name is Naruto Uzumaki, this is my son, Boruto Uzumaki. We come from a place called the elemental nations." Naruto said, wiping his tears. "That guy pulled us here and now we don't know how to get home." Boruto was about to speak up before getting a hand from Naruto to stop him.
"Let me explain Boruto." Naruto walked up to Nebula, activating KCM. "What the hell?" She backed away. "Do you need help?" Naruto pointed at the broken ship.
"Yes." Nebula looked over at stark. "You!" Nebula shook tony. "Snap out of it." Naruto walked over and punched the man in the face. "We don't have time for this." Naruto growled.
"What the hell!" Tony yelled. Naruto grabbed Tony by the collar. "Take us back to earth now!" Naruto threw tony.
"You." Naruto pointed at Nebula. "Explain now." Naruto glared at the blue skinned woman.
Nebula nodded and entered the Milano.
"Tou-chan?" Boruto asked. "Boruto, do you have soldier pills and rations?" Naruto asked seriously. "Hai." Boruto nodded.
"Good, something tells me we will need to use them sparingly." Naruto said before the blonde duo entered the Milano with Tony.
"This technology is far more advanced than anything I've ever seen." Naruto said as Tony and Nebula got the engine to work.
"Woah what's happening?!" Boruto yelled as the ship took off. "We're taking off, strap yourselves in." Tony said.
Naruto takes Boruto and straps him in before strapping himself in. "How long till we get there?" Naruto asks. "Unknown." Tony replies.
20 days later
Naruto was remembering what happened over the last few days. Boruto was lying down on one of the seats in the bridge. Naruto was thinking things over, thanks to Kurama, Naruto didn't need food. With the rations from both Naruto and Boruto, they were able to survive longer.
Tony was sitting down in the entrance of the bridge, holding his helmet as he recorded a message to a woman named Pepper.
"This thing on?" Tony laid back as Naruto with Boruto, warming him up. "Hey Miss Potts. Pep. If you find this recording… Don't post it on social media, it's gonna be a real tearjerker. I don't know if you're ever gonna see these. I don't even know if you're still… Oh god I hope so." Tony started his conversation with his helmet. "Today is day 21 no, uh, 22. You know if it wasn't for the existential terror… of staring into the literal void of space, I'd say I'm feeling a little better today."
Tony looked over at Naruto and Boruto and saw Naruto was perfectly healthy. Then back at the message. "Infection runs its course, thanks to the Blue Meanie back there. Oh you'd love her. Very practical. Only a tiny bit sadistic."
"So, the fuel cells were cracked during battle and we figured out a way to reverse the ion charge and bought ourselves about 48 hours of flight time." Tony looked down, depressed. "Uh, but it's now dead in the water. Thousand lightyears from the nearest 7-eleven." Naruto looked at Boruto when Tony said his last few comments. "Oxygen will run out tomorrow morning, and that'll be it."
Naruto hugged his sleeping son and kissed his forehead. "Pep, I know I said no more surprises, but I gotta say I was really hoping to pull off one last one. But it looks like, well you know what it looks like." Tony started to tear up a little. "Don't feel bad about this. I mean if you grovel for a couple weeks, and then move on with enormous guilt"
'Jesus tony.' Naruto looked at Tony like he was a little crazy. "I should probably lie down for a minute. Go rest my eyes." Boruto hugged his father unconsciously.
"I'm sorry, Boruto." Naruto kissed Boruto again.
"Please know… when I drift off, it'll be like every night lately. I'm fine. Totally fine. I dream about you." Naruto looked out into the stars. "Because it's always you." Tony finished his message as he shut his helmet off.
"We're gonna make it back Tony." Naruto spoke up. Tony didn't respond, he just layed down on the floor, dazing off.
Tony was laying down on the ground for a while before Nebula walked in. Nebula, with the help of Naruto, put Tony into one of the seats.
Naruto sat down next to Boruto's seat. 'Hinata, what would you do?' The blonde hokage thought.
'Himawari's would've enjoyed looking at these stars.' Naruto to Kurama as he looked out into the stars.
"Naruto, there is nothing you could've done. That Strange doctor guy said this guy was the key to get them back though." Kurama said through their link. 'When I find this Thanos, I'll kill him.' Naruto seethed at the name.
"Hang on Naruto, I sense something… Powerful coming." Kurama commented.
A bright light appeared in front of them. "Boruto, wake up… Stark!" Naruto called out to everyone. Tony weakly opened his eyes to find a woman floating in space with a powerful aura surrounding her.
"Tou-chan?" Boruto groggily asked. "Who is that?" Boruto soon woke up completely.
Earth
Steve Rogers finished shaving his beard and cleaning his razor. 'Where are you tony?' He thought to himself.
Steve looked into the mirror and sighed. Steve noticed his small mirror shake and held it to make it stop. Noticing the ground was shaking.
Steve, Pepper, Rhodey, Natasha, and Bruce Banner ran out to find the Milano landing with Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel, holding it.
Pepper looked on in anticipation and worry when the alien ship finally landed. Carol looked over at them and nodded as she walked away.
As Nebula held Tony, Steve ran to aid him. "Couldn't stop him." Tony spoke out.
"Neither could I." Steve replied.
Naruto and Boruto walked out and Rhodey spoke up. "Woah, woah, woah, who are they?"
Tony said. "Oh, their friendly don't worry. Hang on." Tony looked at Steve like his world broke.
"I lost the kid." Steve suddenly realized who he was talking about. "Tony, we lost."
"Is, uh…?" Tony couldn't finish his words as Pepper ran to him. "Oh, good." Tony felt happy that his love at least survived.
"Oh, my god!" Pepper gasped, looking at the state he was in. "Oh, my God!" Pepper hugged Tony tightly as she sobbed.
"It's okay." Tony whispered.
"Tou-chan… what now?" Boruto asked. "Now? We made a plan." Naruto said walking with the rest of them.
Boruto looked at his hand to see his karma mark. 'Momoshiki…' Boruto finally wondered something. "Hey tou-chan!" Everyone looked to see the blonde boy running to his father.
"Did he just speak japanese?" Bruce asked. "What's that?" Naruto asked.
"Hey Tou-chan, if Kawaki is gone, doesn't that mean Ishiki is gone forever as well?" Boruto asked, Naruto's eyes widened. "He is, I forgot about the Otsutsuki, they're going through the same thing." Naruto spoke.
"Excuse me, what is an Otsutsuki?" Bruce asked. "Not what… Who." Naruto said.
"Now's not the time, fill me in on what happened and why people suddenly disappeared." Naruto said, walking with tony.
Naruto and Boruto entered what seems to be a meeting room until Naruto stopped his son. "Tou-chan?" Boruto asked.
"Boruto, you're staying out here." Naruto said, looking directly at Boruto. "No, I want to help." Boruto frowned. "Boruto, please listen to me."
"No, if this will bring kaa-chan and Hima back then I-" "ENOUGH BORUTO!" Naruto yelled at Boruto, causing the younger blonde to stumble back.
Before anyone could say anything, Naruto pulled Boruto into a bone crushing hug. "Please Boruto, let me take care of it." Naruto said with silent tears escaping his eyes.
"Is everything okay?" Natasha asked. "Yes ma'am." Boruto nodded. "Where's Tony?" Naruto asked. "He's sitting down, taking a breather." Steve walked over. "Good, now I want to know EXACTLY what's going on, can someone please take my son to get some rest?" Naruto asked as Natasha nodded.
"Come with me." Natasha smiled as she put a hand on Boruto's shoulder. "Thank you." Naruto whispered to Natasha.
"We'll wait for Nat to come back and we'll explain everything, for now tell us who you are." Bruce suggested.
"I'll just start from the beginning." Naruto sat down as Tony and everyone else looked at the whisker marked man.
"So I'm not sure how this place exists since I live on a planet called earth. In a continent called the 5 great shinobi nations." Naruto said, making eyebrows quirk up. "When I was born there was a giant creature called the Kyuubi no kitsune that was forced to attack my village, Konoha." Naruto sighed.
"My parents sacrificed themselves to seal the Kyuubi, saving my village." "Hold on, you said sealed… What does that mean?" Bruce asked. "You guys don't have fuinjutsu, do you?" Naruto deadpanned.
"Fuin is Japanese for sealing, and no." Natasha said as she walked in. "Also Kyuubi means nine tailed fox, if I'm not mistaken." Naruto nodded.
"So where is it?" Steve asked. Naruto lifted up his shirt, making Natasha and Nebula blush at the muscle Naruto had. "See this tattoo?" Naruto asked as the seal appeared. "The fox is here." Naruto dropped his shirt. "I've trained in the shinobi arts my entire life, along with my son." Naruto said.
"Why?" Rhodey asked. "War." Naruto shrugged.
"Wait, so you use children in the army?" Natasha asked, having some experience with being bred to be a soldier.
"With their consent, I'm not like a war hawk who thinks people can't have emotions." Naruto said, reminding himself of Danzo.
"That's an improvement." Natasha whispered so no one could hear. "How so?" Naruto looked at her.
"What?" Natasha tried to play it off. "I can hear well, one of the perks of having this furball in me." Naruto said. "Oh it's nothing." Natasha smiled.
Naruto looked at Steve. "Alright now, your explanation." Naruto said.
Rhodey spoke up, pulling a hologram up. "It's been 23 days since Thanos came to Earth."
Natasha started. "World governments are in pieces. The parts that are still working… Are trying to take a census and it looks like he did…" Natasha took a breath. "He did exactly what he said he was gonna do. Thanos wiped out…" She looked at Naruto then back at everyone else. "...50% of all living creatures."
Naruto looked over to where Natasha was looking, seeing a man brooding. 'He looks like a young Sasuke.'
"Where is he now? Where?" Tony asked.
"We don't know. He just opened a portal and walked through." Steve replied.
'Space ninjutsu?' Naruto raised an eyebrow
Tony sighed. "What's wrong with him?"
Naruto was wondering the same thing until he noticed a raccoon. "Oh, he's pissed. He thinks he failed. Which, of course, he did but there's a lot of that going around, ain't there?"
Naruto's eyes widened. 'Did it just speak?!'
"Honestly, until this exact second I thought you were a build-a-bear." Tony said.
"Maybe I am." Rocket said, exhausted. "We've been hunting Thanos for three weeks now. Deep space scans and satellites, and we got nothing." Steve sighed. "Tony, you fought him." Steve said before he was interrupted.
"Who told you that?" Tony looked at Steve. 'Your damn condition and the fact we were in space.' Naruto thought as he rolled his eyes.
"I didn't fight him. No he wiped my face with a planet while the Bleecker Street magician gave away the store, and took him and his kid from their home." All eyes were on Naruto. "Don't look at me."
"That's what happened. There was no fight, 'cause he's not beatable." Naruto noticed Tony's heart rate go up.
"Did he give you any clues, any coordinates, anything?" Steve asked.
"Uh…" Tony sputtered. "I saw this coming a few years back." Tony started. "I had a vision. I didn't want to believe it. Thought I was dreaming."
"Alright Tony I'm gonna need you to focus." Steve sighed.
"And I needed you." Tony interrupted. "As in past tense. That trumps what you need. It's too late, buddy." Tony spouted. "Sorry."
"You know what I need? I need a shave." Tony started to stand up. "And I believe I remember telling all youse." Tony started to pull the needle from his arm while Steve tried to stop him.
"Alive and otherwise, that what we needed was a suit of armor around the world. Remember that? Whether it impacted our precious freedoms or not. That's what we needed." Tony rambled on.
"Well that didn't work out, did it." Steve said.
Naruto walked out to check on Boruto, the loss of losing his mother and sister hit harder for him than it did on Naruto.
Naruto walked around till he found Boruto looking at his palm while a familiar seal spread across his body. "Boruto?" Naruto walked in. "Tou-chan." Boruto looked his father in the eye and saw that they were void of life.
"You miss them, don't you?" Naruto asked his son.
Boruto just chuckled. "Heh, we watched them die before our very eyes." Naruto walked over and pulled Boruto into a hug. "We'll get them back, don't worry."
Naruto could sense Boruto wasn't being truthful about what's happening to him. "Boruto, what's wrong, is it karma?" Boruto nodded.
"I've been feeling its pulse since we got here. As if it's trying to send out a message." Boruto deactivated the Karma seal. "Something caused it to freak out."
The duo heard a knock at the door. "We found thanos." Naruto's eyes widened. "You in?" Steve asked.
"Yeah, time to get our families back." Naruto had a determined look.
"Got a suit?" Steve said. "Yeah." Naruto said. "Then suit up." Steve left.
Naruto pulled out his old ninja headband. "Tou-chan? I thought you got rid of that?" Boruto said. "Heh, Boruto, guess there are some things you still don't know, stay here and I'll return with Hinata, Himawari, and Kawaki." Naruto said as he put on his headband.
Space
Naruto POV
"Okay. Who here hasn't been to space?" Rocket asked. Rhodey, Steve, Natasha raised their hands. "You better not throw up on my ship." Rocket said as he neared the jump point.
"Approaching jump in three… two… one…" Nebula said.
The ship moved at lightspeed and Steve's, and my eyes widened. The ship wasn't able to do this last time.
It only took a few moments for the ship to stop and Carol got up. "I'll head down for recon." She said,
"Let me come with you." I Got up out of the chair and went for the exit. "Naruto, you can't breathe in space." Rhodey said.
"You wanna bet?" I asked sarcastically as I went into my chakra form. "What the… hell." Everyone said as they backed away from me. "Heh."
Normal POV
I went and flew next to Carol as we reconnected around the planet. "Naruto, got anything?" Carol asked over comms. "Nadda, found that Thanos-teme?" Naruto asked. "Teme? What's that?" Carol asked. "Nevermind, regroup at the ship." Naruto said as he blasted off from the ground.
"Roger." Carol said before she cut comms.
Naruto and Carol flew back to Milano and hovered in front of it.
"No satellites, no ships, no armies. No ground defenses of any kind." Carol said as she smirked. "It's just him."
"And that's enough." Nebula said as Naruto looked over to her and raised an eyebrow.
Ground
Thanos was picking fruit from his garden and limped back to his hut. "Ugh." The titan grunted. He was making stew and sprinkling spices into a pot before taking it to the fire pit.
Creak
Thanos looked up to see an energy blast aiming at the gauntlet. Thanos blocked the attack but took a lot of energy from him.
"Rasengan!" Naruto shouted as he threw the ball of chakra into Thanos's chest, throwing him into Carol's path. Carol took her foot and blocked Thanos from using the glove.
Naruto stood there as a massive mechanical machine came from the ground and grabbed the arm that held the metal glove. And a suit of metal holding the other arm back.
Thor flew in and chopped off Thanos's arm, causing him to scream. "AURGH!"
Naruto moved out of the way as Captain America and Natasha entered the hut.
Rocket turned the glove over to find the 'infinity stones' missing. "Oh no." Naruto looked over to see what happened. "What? What's wrong?" Naruto asked. "The stones… They're gone." Rocket said.
"Where are they?" Steve demanded. "Answer the question." Carol tightened her arm around his neck. "The universe required correction. After that, the stones served no purpose beyond temptation." Thanos seethed to the pain.
"You murdered trillions!" Banner yelled as he threw Thanos to the ground. "You should be grateful." Thanos said.
Naruto punched Thanos hard, using chakra. "You murdered my family and possibly my friends! I will never thank you!" Naruto yelled before Steve held him back.
"Where are the stones?" Natasha asked, holding her breath.
"Gone. Reduced to atoms." Thanos said, breathing heavily. "You used them two days ago!" Banner called out.
"I used the stones to destroy the stones… It nearly killed me." Thanos looked over himself. "But the work is done. It always will be. I am inevitable." Naruto clenched his fists tightly. "Get the hell off your damn high horse Teme!" Naruto seethed.
"We have to tear this place apart. He has to be lying!" Rhodey said.
"My father is many things… a liar is not one of them." Nebula said.
"Father?" Naruto looked at her. "Adopted." Nebula looked at the pissed blonde.
"Ah. Thank you, daughter." Thanos looked appreciatively at Nebula. "Perhaps I treated you too harshly." Thanos said before Thor and Naruto Killed him. Thor chopped off his head, Naruto shoved a kunai in his chest.
"What did you do?" Rocket asked, still shaken by the events that took place.
"I ended it." Naruto said as Thor and Naruto both walked out.
Naruto walked to the ship as Thor took some time to grieve.
"Damn it!" Naruto growled as he punched a tree, throwing it 20 meters. "Naruto!" A voice Naruto recognized. "Sasuke?!" Naruto frantically looked around to find the Uchiha entering the clearing.
"How did you get here?!" Naruto yelled as he ran to his childhood friend. "Better question yet, how did you find me?"
Sasuke slapped Naruto before grabbing the collar of his shirt. "Where the fuck have you been?!"
Naruto paled and threw his hand to knock Sasuke off of him. "Boruto and I have been thrown into a new situation." Naruto said. "What situation could cause you to abandon your home… YOUR VILLAGE?!" Sasuke wanted to chidori Naruto but he needed answers.
"The situation that helps bring back OUR FAMILIES!" Naruto yelled, causing everyone leaving the hut to get their attention.
"Rhodey, wanna go see what's up with Naruto?" Natasha asked, making him fly searching for him.
"Right." Rhodey said simply.
"So you're telling me some wizard captured you and trapped you on an alien planet with Boruto?" Sasuke deadpanned. "Yeah." Naruto said.
Screeching could be heard as the two shinobi looked up to find Rhodey entering the opening.
"Naruto!" Sasuke said as he got in a defensive position. "It's alright Sasuke." Rhodey pointed at Sasuke and asked. "Naruto, you know this guy?" Naruto nodded. "Well how the hell did he get all the way out here?" Rhodey asked, confused.
Sasuke threw a kunai next to a tree and activated his rinnegan ability, switching places with it. "I have the ability to teleport." Rhodey just looked at Sasuke with a blank expression. "Rhodes?" Naruto asked.
"Sorry, just never seen someone teleport before." Sasuke turned to Naruto. "So what's your plan?" Naruto looked at his friend. "I'm going to keep Boruto safe, that's all I care about at this point." Naruto said. "Naruto, you can't be serious." Sasuke demanded.
"I am, Sasuke, I will allow you to be the next hokage in my place." Naruto said while walking to Rodey before Sasuke grabbed his arm.
"I can't allow you to abandon the village." Sasuke said seriously. "Hinata-chan was my village… Now she's gone so I will take care of my only son." Naruto said, flaring his chakra. "Naruto calm down." Sasuke grabbed the hilt of his blade.
"Go back and take care of everyone Sasuke." Naruto said, forming a Rasengan. "Or I'll make you." Naruto growled.
Sasuke sighed. "I didn't come to fight, I'll tell everyone you and all of your family died from this." Sasuke eased his tense stance.
"Rhodes, let's get back to the ship." Naruto said as he walked back, taking deep breaths.
War Machine just flew off back to steve.
"I'll see you later… Hokage-sama." Naruto said before shunshinning away.
Earth
Boruto was laying down on the bed crying over the loss of his family. "Hima.." He said broken heartedly. He loved his sister and his mother with all his heart. Kawaki was a bastard but he still mattered to Boruto.
The young blonde stood up and left to go to the front yard. "Tou-chan, please come home." Boruto made a couple of clones. "Alright, we need to train in order to keep people safe." Boruto said as his clones went into their gentle fist stance as Boruto went into his own stance.
"What's that?" A clone asked. "It's a stance I'm coming up with, trying to make my own style." Boruto said as he narrowed his eyes. "Now let's go 'ttebasa." Boruto ordered.
The real Boruto Ran in first as the first clone sent a palm strike to Boruto's left shoulder, but in the last second Boruto blocked the strike with a forearm.
"Try harder!" Boruto yelled as he sent a wind enhanced palm strike to the clone, making it fly back. Boruto was surrounded by 4 clones. "Aww 4v1… doesn't seem fair." Boruto said, mocking them.
"Boss, what's wrong with you?" A clone asked before getting a rasengan to the torso, dispelling it. "Nothing damn it, now spar!" Boruto activated his Karma seal and got serious.
Atmosphere
Rhodey walked over to the sulking Naruto. "So you wanna explain what the hell that was?" The blonde sighed. "His name is Sasuke Uchiha, he's my best friend." Rhodey rubbed his chin. "Then why do his eyes look that way?"
"That was the rinnegan and the sharingan. It's the visual prowess of the Uchiha family, they have extraordinary abilities." Naruto sighed. "And he probably found me via my chakra." Naruto explained.
Rhodey nodded. "Alright."
"Alright we're back." Rocket announced, getting everyone's attention.
Earth
Boruto just took out the last of his clones as the Milano flew down into the landing zone. "Finally." Boruto rolled his eyes. The door opened to show everyone with grim looks.
Boruto walked over to his father. "What happened?" Naruto sighed and hugged Boruto. "I'm sorry, we couldn't find a way to get them back." Naruto sat by a tree.
"Tou-chan." Boruto looked at his father then walked back inside.
We are done, sorry I've not been focused on the other stories but this one is already written out I just need to upload it, that is what I've been doing the entire time. You may have realized that this is a Naruto x Avengers endgame/MCU story.
