Carrie absolutely adores Steve and vise versa. They have a grandpa/granddaughter relationship at times, He's also protective of her and deeply cares about her as much as the rest of the team.
Steve tells Carrie his stories from the 1940s as if she was his actual granddaughter. He tells her stories about his experience of being in the war and what it was like back then. She's gets fascinated every time she hears about his life experience back in those days, including his days in the war before he got frozen.
