Sesshomaru leans against the balcony wall with his arms crossed, watching Rin scurry away.
He curves his mouth into a mischievous smile. She will be mine .
Rin returns to the party. She felt like everyone had their eye on her as if she was walking the walk of shame.
Toga looks at his wife and nods. He knew Sesshomaru did something to her; she looked disheveled. Her cheeks flushed, and she seemed to be in a bit of a panic.
Kagome, relieved, says, "Oh, there you are, Rin. Naraku came looking for you. He said you never came out of the bathroom. So I went in to check on you, but you weren't there."
Rin had to think fast, and she remembered a garden on the way in. "I was with Sesshomaru; he was showing me the garden here. I told him I was fond of plants."
Inuyasha blurts out, "You guys talked? I thought he ditched you."
Kagome slaps Inuyasha gently on his arm.
Rin giggled, "He did, but he apologized for his behavior."
"You apologized?" Inuyasha says, looking behind Rin.
Rin slowly turned around to Sesshomaru standing very close behind her. Her cheeks change to a pink tint.
"I did; you annoyed me earlier, and I took my frustrations out on Rin. So I had to apologize." He looked down at Rin and over her body lustfully. "To Rin."
Rin felt her body heat up. She felt as if her poor heart was about to come out of her chest. He left that memory with her, and he seemed to take joy in her not keeping her composure.
Izayoi understood Rin's signals, so she moved toward Rin to whisk her away along with Kagome. "I think this is about enough tonight. Boys will be making our way out." She looks to her husband. "I will see you home, dearest."
Toga nods and looks at both of his sons. He couldn't let this secret out; it was Sesshomaru's to tell. He also could tell Sesshomaru felt pride in what he did to Rin. His eldest was not like him nor like his brother. He knew he would push to different limits with his mate.
He was grateful that Rin's attire was still intact. He honestly expected the girl to have a ripped dress and her hair in an untamed manner and...barely walking straight.
"I am heading out too, pops." He turns to Sesshomaru, "See ya later, loser!" Inuyasha turns his back and waves to his father and Sesshomaru.
"Might as well take our leave too as both of our mates have left for the night," Toga says.
Sesshomaru walks beside his father, "How did you know she was my mate?"
Toga clasped his hands behind his back and smiled, "A parental instinct. I knew when I felt your glare and demonic energy as I moved closer to Rin. I thought I would mess with you the whole night."
"Father." Sesshomaru icily said.
"I know, I know, I shouldn't have, but it was the only way to get you to recognize it, recognize her. You were going to blow your chances."
Sesshomaru opened the doors to the venue so they could step outside. "I thought you would ravish her."
Sesshomaru chuckled, "She will not be who you think. She will not stand beside me, father." He looks at his father from the corner of his eye. "She is a human; she could never stand beside me as such. She will not hold that title."
Toga stops in his tracks, "Now, Sesshomaru, I have warned you. You don't want to play with your mate. It is taboo to do such a thing."
Sesshomaru puts his finger across his chin and smiles, "A playmate, yes that sounds better, father, thank you." Sesshomaru completely ignored his father.
Toga yelled across the parking lot to Sesshomaru. "That is not what I meant, Sesshomaru."
Sesshomaru waves his father off and enters his vehicle. "Yes indeed, Ms. Rin, you will become my playmate."
A week passed, and everything seemed to go back to normal.
Rin was still startled by what happened that night of the party. At times she felt shameful for her actions.
Other times...
She found herself sliding her fingers into her panties, finding relief.
She knew he could find her, but they never seemed to run into each other. Rin wanted to ask Kagome about any family gatherings she may have with the family.
She thought about what he said when he took over her body. He told her she belonged to him; she was his.
If that was the case, why did he let her leave without some contact information? Why isn't he here now? Is he playing some game to see if she will seek him out? She didn't like whatever game he was playing; she was suffering.
While Rin was suffering, she didn't know that Sesshomaru had been watching her from afar ever since that night.
He wanted to study his prey.
He wanted to know what she did on a daily basis.
He knows where she lives, what kind of work she does for a living, the type of coffee she drinks, and the grocery store she shops at.
He has learned a lot about young Rin this past week.
He didn't need to get any information from Kagome.
He didn't want anyone to know his interest.
His father is the only one who was privy to Rin being his mate so far.
He didn't accept her as his mate, but he wanted her. He realized he said she was his while in the moment. It didn't truly mean anything to him, so he thinks.
After gathering as much information as possible about Rin, he pondered his next move. He needed to approach her, but he had to figure out the right setting.
The new age called it "Friends with Benefits" He wondered if she would be accepting of this title. He highly doubted she would reject it because it had something to do with him. His inner demon purred at the memory of her giving in to her pleasure.
That was it, he was doing it.
Sesshomaru stepped out of the shower and wiped the mirror.
He smiles, "I can't wait any longer. I shall have you, Rin. You will belong to me, to this Sesshomaru."
