*Authors' Note - The Sydney to the Max TV series was 63 episodes long. The Sydney to the Max Season 4 project that myself and many other writers worked on was 15 episodes long. The very Sydney to the Max Season 5 series you are reading is 22 episodes long. Add all those numbers up, and that makes this the Sydney to the Max 100th episode.
2019:
Sydney sat in the cafeteria of Clara Barton Middle School looking humiliated as Olive sat next to her. As Sydney buried her her face under her arms she said, "Ugh. I am having the worst start to 7th grade ever Olive! Why did my dad have to walk into the school hallway and embaress me like that." Then Olive put a hand on Sydney's shoulder and said, "I wouldn't think too hard about it Syd. I'm sure everyone has forgotten it by now." Then Olive heard a beeping sound on her phone. Then Olive saw on her phone, a gif of Sydney's father Max kissing the wrong girl in the school hallway on the head. Then Olive quickly put her phone away as she said, "Or maybe not."
Then from nearby, Emmy and Sophia aproached the two with lunch trays as Sophia said, "Hey Sydney. Hey Olive." Then a smiling Olive said, "Hey girls. Oh, cool. You have the same lunch period as us this year." Then Sophia said, "Yeah, and it's cool we're in half the same classes too. You mind if we join you for lunch? Oh, are you okay with that Emmy?" Then Emmy immediately blurted out, "I'm sitting next to Olive!" Sophia looked at Emmy with a confused expression. Then Emmy blushed a bit as she sat next to Sydney and said, "I mean... I'm cool with sitting next to whoever."
Then as Sophia and Emmy sat down, Sophia said, "So what's wrong Syd?" Then Sydney sighed and said, "My dad totally embaressed me this morning." Then a smiling Emmy said, "I know. I saw the gif that everyone in the school is sharing." Sydney then groaned louder as Sophia glared at Emmy. Then Sydney lifted her head up and said, "I can't stand this. For the rest of the school year, people are gonna look at me and recognize me as the girl with the embaressing dad." Then Emmy with a straight forward tone said, "Then why don't you change your look, so no one will recognize you." Then Sydney's eyes lit up and said, "That's it! I'll go for some crazy new hair style, and then I'll appear to be a whole new person. Emmy, that's an amazing plan." Then with a smile, Emmy said, "Thanks. This is probrably the first time anyone has called an idea of mine amazing."
Then Olive smiled and said, "Hey. We should all hang out after school and help Sydney pick her new hair style." Then Sophia said, "Ooo. Sorry. I have the after school science club my mom's making me do." Then Emmy said, "Yeah, and I have to pick up my brother from elementary school every afternoon for now." Then Sydney said, "Well, we should all definitely make plans to hang out more often." Then Olive said, "Yeah. And we could even start to have a group name. Like the Girl Squad, or the Female Furies, or the Winning Women." Then Emmy with an excited voice said, "Or how about the Four Amigas!?" The other three girls looked at Emmy with disapointed faces and raised eyebrows. Then Emmy looked a bit humiliated, but tried to also put on a determined face as she said, "Well... I'll bring it up again one day and we'll see if your minds change by then."
Later that day, Sydney was pacing back and forth in her room scared as she kept looking in the mirror at her hair which had been dyed with different colors. As Olive stood near Sydney, she said, "Okay Sydney. Just breathe. We'll figure this out. I called Sophia and Emmy and they said they had a plan." Then the two girls heard Max call out, "Sydney! Sophia and Emmy are here! But remember, they can't stay long because we have to get your hair done!" Then Sophia and Emmy walked into the room as their eyes widened at the sight of Sydney's hair. An astonished Sophia said, "Whoa. It really is bad." Then Sydney looking deperate said, "Please. You have to save me. I'm begging you!" Then Sophia said, "Well as soon as Olive called me, I remembered something Emmy had and ran over to her place to get it." Then Emmy took out of her bag a black wig. As Emmy held it out she said, "Here. This wig I have looks just like your regular hair. Put this over your actual hair, and your dad won't know."
Then as Sydney tucked her real hair under the wig, she said, "Thank you so much Emmy!" Then a confused Olive said, "Emmy, why do you have a wig?" Then Emmy said, "Oh. My sister had to wear it after she had a hair cutting incident that went horribly wrong." Then a curious Olive said, "Who was cutting her hair?" Then Emmy with a straight forward tone said, "Me... when she was asleep... I was trying to surprise her with a fun new look for her birthday." Then as Sydney adjusted her wig, Sophia said, "Okay. Here's the plan. You get your dad to leave the hair salon as soon as possible. You let the people at the hair salon do their magic, and your dad will never know your hair was ruined. Hmm. And maybe bring a hat in case the wig doesn't feel like it's working." Then Sydney breathed in deeply, and then said, "Okay. I think I'm ready. See you girls later." Then Sydney headed out of her room. Then Olive looking proud said, "You know. We're a pretty good group of four friends." Then an excited looking Emmy said, "Or maybe instead you could say we're a pretty good group of... four amigas." Then Sophia glared at Emmy and said, "Drop it Emmy."
That evening, Sydney sat in her room looking frustrated when she heard her phone ring. Sydney answered it and said, "Hello?" Then Sydney heard Sophia say, "Hey Syd. It's Sophia. So how did the plan go?" Sydney moaned and said, "Horrible. My dad saw through the ruse, and I got in serious trouble." Then Sophia said, "Oh. I'm so sorry Syd." Then Sydney angerly said, "But you know what's worse? My grandma told me my dad once tried to change his hair color too when he was my age. Ugggh! My dad is so annoying. He is a complete and total hyprocite, he embaresses me at school, and is always in my space." Then Sophia slowly spoke up and said, "Well Syd... at least he's in your space. I mean I barely see my dad now since my parents seperated and... I mean, as annoying as dads are, at least your dad is there to help you out. I mean an embaressing dad that tries is better that no dad at all." Then Sydney sighed and said, "I guess. Thanks for checking in Sophia. Now if you excuse me, I need to get some emotions out of me on my bass guitar." Then Sophia said, "Okay. I have to go get some new shoes with my mom anyway. See you tomorrow Syd." Then Sydney turned off her phone, and then picked up her bass guitar.
Later, Sydney and Max walked out of the hair salon as Sydney smiled as she glanced at herself and her much nicer looking hair in a nearby mirror. Sydney looked at her father as she said, "Thank you for paying for this dad. I love it! You're the best!" Then a smiling Max said, "Well Syd, just remember this happy feeling you're experiencing now... as you're spending the next week grounded." Sydney sighed and said, "Look dad. I'm sorry I dyed my hair behind your back. But it's not like me dying my hair hurt you or your business. I mean it's nowhere near as awful as me and Olive going to a different smoothie stand than the one at the bike shop and supporting your competition out of pure spite at you." Then Max looked at Sydney with a surprised and deeply dissapointed face. A suddenly very guilty looking Sydney said, "Perhaps I said too much."
Then suddenly the two heard a voice said, "Hello Max!" Sydney and Max turned their heads and saw Sophia and her mother Angela walking towards them. Max waved and said, "Hey Angela. What are you two ladies doing here?" Then Angela said, "Getting my daughter some new shoes. Oh, Max. I was hoping you could donate some smoothies to the upcoming PTA fundraiser. Plus, I'd love to have your help on the committee this year too. I mean you do always have such great ideas." Then Max said, "Let me think about it, and I'll get back to you." Then a smiling Angela said, "Great. See ya later."
Then as Sophia and Angela walked away, Sydney began to grin as she said, "Dad, did you see that? Sophia's mom was totally flirting with you." A surprised looking Max said, "What? No. That was just grown ups talking about boring grown up stuff." Then Sydney said, "Well you know, she's single now, and you're single, so maybe one day you two could..." Then Max raised one eybrow at Sydney as he said, "Are you interested in my love life or are you triying to postpone your grounding?" Sydney looked guilty again as she said, "Can it be both?" Then Max glared at Sydney as he said, "We're going home now Sydney!" Then Sydney put on a smile as she said, "But come on dad. Sophia's mom could be a great step-mom, and then you both could finally give me that baby sister I've always wanted. You know, Lauren would be a great name for a little girl." Then an annoyed looking Max said, "Home, now, Sydney!"
THE END
*Author's Note - This special episode marks the end of the Sydney to the Max Season 5 project. Despite not being as large in scale in terms of collaboration or attention as the Season 4 project, this amazing group of stories definitely contains tales that I am extremely proud of, and as far as I'm concerned, really pushed the boundries of how good fanfiction can get. Thank you to JoshFics, Katy Kear, StuckFan, and WritingWithKeon for providing me with ideas and support for my stories. And BIG thanks go to the person who wound up becoming my co-author on many of these stories: DrDoom2006. It was literally his desire to want to keep on telling stories in my Sydney to the Max Season 4 universe, that lit the spark that made me want to start this Season 5 project.
However, THIS IS NOT THE END! We will be making a sequel to our Sydney to the Max Season 5 project, that will mostly focus on Sydney and her friends in their college years. This new project will be more stream-lined and take place mostly in just one time-frame, with the goal to also make the new stories very new-reader friendly, but will not throw out any of the continuity established in the first 100 episodes of the Sydney to the Max TV Series, Season 4 project, and Season 5 project. So be ready, because...
