When things begin to change.
Four months into their meetings with the same routine.
Rin still hadn't found a way to tell Sesshomaru her feelings, but tonight, in his warm embrace she found herself yet again in, she couldn't deny it anymore.
They were in their meeting place once as usual and tonight it felt as if Sesshomaru was making love to Rin. They both noticed the difference in each other's actions.
It only made one open to becoming more than this situationship. While the other was contemplating how they will no longer see each other.
Sesshomaru couldn't stop himself from making love to Rin. He loved how she responded to him, and he took great pleasure in her warm embrace. But reality came back with a force once they both came down from their high. Sesshomaru had to put an end to this. He was falling for her.
But before he could get the words out…his Rin spoke.
"I love you, Sesshomaru."
He felt everything leave him when he exhaled.
His youkai appeased, but the selfish part of Sesshomaru wanted to run away. His fears came to light, him falling for a human and she was irresistible. He found himself seeing her more than he should have. It was supposed to be on a weekly basis, but now he needed to be within her presence almost daily and hear from her every day.
He hums, "we sleep, my dear sweet Rin." Ignoring her, he now had to make his move…to leave her.
Rin wanted to believe that maybe the reason he didn't respond was that he didn't hear her clearly. So she didn't take it to heart. She nodded and soon fell asleep.
Sesshomaru held her close to him..peppering kisses on her throughout the night. He hated to leave her, but this needed to be done.
Sesshomaru's Get Away
During the early morning, Sesshomaru makes his getaway. He was grateful his movements didn't wake her. He kissed her temple before he would leave her forever. It tore into his soul, but he couldn't make himself stay and be with this…human.
Sesshomaru walks to the front desk and talks to the clerk. "The young lady in the suite, make her vacate the premises and if she refuses, then you may take necessary actions."
"Yes, my lord."
Sesshomaru steps out of the building and looks back. "Goodbye, my dear sweet Rin."
Morning for Rin has come. The sun's rays hit her body, warming her up instantly. She stretched and reached out to where another warm body was supposed to be. Surprisingly, it was empty.
She was alarmed at first, but then she thought he may have gone and got them some breakfast, or maybe he was showering. That is until she reached for her phone.
She looked at her notifications and there was one from fluffy. She was so excited to open it until she read the message.
Fluffy: We are not to see each other anymore. You are to pack your things and leave the premises or you will be escorted out, so I suggest you move quickly.
Rin read the message over several times. "What?"
She scoots off the bed, wrapped in a sheet, and ran around the suite hoping that this was a joke. She checked each room, yelling out for Sesshomaru, but she got no answer.
Tears fell down her eyes. Was this because I told him I loved him? She thought.
She sent text messages back to back frantically and dialed his number, but it kept going to voicemail.
She leaves a voice message.
"What the hell is the meaning of this Sesshomaru? Is this because I said I loved you, well I take it back! Just don't do this! We can act like this never happened! It wasn't supposed to slip from my lips. I understand this was only supposed to be friends with benefits. Urgh! Please answer the phone, Sesshomaru!"
Her hands shaking, she holds her phone to her chest. "Please, Sesshomaru."
She sat for an hour until there was a knock on the door. She runs to the door hoping it was him but it was security.
She wraps herself tightly in her sheet. "Excuse me, ma'am, but we were asked to escort you off the premises."
"What? This is some kind of mistake." She tried to close the door, but it was pushed back open. "Ma'am, please follow me downstairs."
"Wait, just hold on, he will answer." face heated with embarrassment, tears threatening to fall down her puffy eyes.
The security calls on the radio, "we will need backup."
They are serious ; she thought. She was defeated. "Okay, I will get my things. That is unnecessary."
Arriving at his office, he begins his day; leaving Rin a thing of the past.
About an hour later, he received a text message from Rin; he ignored it. But then several other texts soon followed. The phone rings. He presses the end button.
He pondered, why did he still have this phone? If he truly wanted to be apart from her, he would get rid of the phone. But this phone would keep him attached to Rin.
As he was in his thoughts, his father entered. "What are you doing here, father?"
"I came to check up on you. I have not seen you and I wanted to see if you are still avoiding mating Rin."
He scoffs. "You really came here for that, father?"
Toga sniffs, "You have been with her, but you have not mated, I see."
Sesshomaru rolled his eyes at his father. He received another voicemail notification and contemplated on listening to it.
Rin , he thought.
He couldn't ignore it, not even with his father there. He needed to hear her voice.
He turned away from his father's view and listened to the voicemail. His mate was frantic. He could tell she was crying. She wanted to take back her love for him. He didn't want that. He wanted her to love him, to never stop loving him.
Was that too selfish to ask?
He whines and puts the phones down. His father walks up behind him and puts a hand on his shoulder. "I heard your mate, Sesshomaru; look at me."
Sesshomaru's eyes were crimson red. He did not want to hear what his father had to say.
"You must calm down. We can talk about this. I can help you through this, my son."
"I have hurt my mate!" he growls with his fangs protruding.
"I understand." Toga points to the chair, and he sits in the one beside it. "She says she loves you and you reject that. Why do you continue to torture yourself? She is your mate."
His hue returns to gold. "I know what she is, but this Sesshomaru cannot…no, will not bow down to this human woman."
"Are you kidding me? You're battling with your youkai because you are so furious with me to accept her as your mate."
"I don't care what my inner beast says. I will never make her mine."
"I beg you, son, do not keep this up; it is taboo."
"Enough! I have another meeting to attend to. If you have nothing else to say, then you may take your leave."
Toga shook his head and scoffed. He knows his son is going through something, so he will let that little comment slide. But this thing with Rin, is something he would have to see for himself.
Toga sees himself out. He knew Sesshomaru would crawl back to him, asking for help. He wondered how his dear son has that much restraint against his own mate.
He would have gone into a rage if he couldn't have Izayoi by his side.
Sesshomaru fixed his suit jacket and tie and went to his next meeting, hoping to keep that human woman from his thoughts.
