I am very sorry about releasing this so late. The next few chapters will be all about Lincoln and his life until the day that the mysterious figure arrives.
Lincoln had arrived at school, and started looking for his friends automatically. He found his friends hanging out next to his locker.
"Hey guys, what's up?" Lincoln enthusiastically greeted his friends.
"The sky." Clyde teased. Everyone had a good laugh at it.
"Lincoln, you look mildly perturbed. What's the problem?" Stella asked with a dash of concern.
"I would tell you, but in order to save myself from a loop of this, I cannot."
"What are you talking about?" Said the rest of the friends in unison.
"I don't know, I had a strange, inexplicable dream last night. I can't talk about it." Lincoln said.
"Well, I guess it's useless to try and talk you into telling us about it." Clyde said solemnly.
The bell rang, and everyone went to class.
"Okay class, Today we will be talking about paranormal activity." Mrs. Johnson informed the class. The boys cheered, while the girls moaned.
Lincoln raised his hand. Mrs. Johnson called on him. "Mrs Johnson, do dreams where you see someone that sounds like a relative but aren't quite that person count as paranormal activity?"
With a small chuckle, she replied with "Well… I guess they can count…"
Lincoln didn't say a word until lunch time, where still he didn't say much of anything.
Once the family had gotten home, Lincoln finally said something. "So you know that forbidden dream thing? Apparently it's a form of paranormal activity."
"Well that's cool, I guess." Lucy said in response.
Lincoln immediately went upstairs. He tried not to focus on it, but it was the only thing he could focus on. He kept on hearing his dream in his head.
"I can't take it any more. I'm hearing voices inside of my head, the same voice I was hearing before. Please stop putting me through this." Lincoln said, about ready to give up.
Then all of a sudden, it stopped. "You stopped? Just like that?"
"Would you like me to continue?" The mysterious voice said.
"Not with that…" Lincoln responded.
Bored, the mysterious voice said, "Lincoln, I know what you are thinking right now. 'Who are you? What are you? Why are you doing this kind of a thing?' I can only answer your last question for the current moment. I am doing this to prepare you for my arrival. I am an imaginary replication of my true form, that only you can know the existence of. Oh, there's one more question that you could possibly have for me. 'How do you know my name?' I made a little something that allows me to learn anybody's name with ease. I used it on you. You didn't feel a thing."
"Wait, how are you even interacting with me if you don't even have a physical body, or even a form, or look?" Lincoln asked the voice in his head.
"Normally, I can only speak to you when you are asleep, but it seems that right now is a little anomaly in the time in which I can speak to you. So I have taken advantage of the anomaly to speak to you, while I am working on my way of coming to your world." It replied.
"Huh. If that is true, then at some point in time, you will randomly vanish from within me." Lincoln said. In which at that time, exactly that happened. He knew this because he never received a response. So afterwards, he went to reading comics until dinner was ready.
"Kids! Dinner's ready!" Lynn Sr. called from downstairs. The children rushed downstairs, except for Lincoln, who took his time.
"Lincoln, we were waiting on you. We don't eat until everyone is at the table." Rita told Lincoln.
"Since when was that a rule?" Lincoln exclaimed.
"Since just now, apparently." Lynn Sr. said. "Your mother and I came up with the rule while I was making dinner."
"Well that's bogus." Lincoln said unenthusiastically. He sat down at the dinner table, and dinner officially started.
"It seems Lincoln has a bit of a 'tude today. What's the problem, Lincoln?" Lori asked.
"I can't stop thinking about that dream I had at midnight." He replied.
"Well why don't you tell us about it?" Rita suggested. "When I told my family about something I couldn't get off my mind, it didn't take long for it to come off my mind."
"I can't talk about it, okay?" Lincoln said, starting to get annoyed with the whole situation.
Trying to reason with him, Lynn Sr. asked him "Why not, Lincoln? What's so private about it?"
"I don't know! All that I know is that I had the dream, I was told that I can't talk about it, and nothing else!" He replied angrily.
"Just tell us, Lincoln. We're family, we don't keep secrets." Rita said, starting to get angry herself.
"I already can't handle the pressure from the dream I cannot talk about. You guys applying more pressure only worsens the situation." Lincoln was starting to get furious.
"Lincoln, telling us will hel-" Lori started.
"Stay out of this, Lori!" Lincoln shouted, frightening his siblings. Lori got angry immediately.
"Lincoln! Y-" Lori started again.
"I said stay. out. Lori." Lincoln had gone overboard by this point, he couldn't control his emotions any more. He let his anger get to him.
"You can't tell her what to do, Lincoln!" Even Lynn Sr. was getting angered by Lincoln's behavior.
"Can we just stop talking about this and eat?" Lincoln shouted, letting anger drown him.
"No, we cannot, Lincoln." Both parents said at the same time.
"Just shut up about it!" Lincoln screamed.
"That's it. Go to your room, Lincoln. You're grounded until Friday." Lynn Sr. said sternly.
Anger's grasp immediately let go, followed immediately with fear and sadness with their grasp, realizing what he had done. "What have I done?" Lincoln said, looking around at his angered family, himself now teary-eyed.
"Go. Bring your food with you." Rita stated with a simple manner.
Never before had he gotten out of his chair, pushed it in, and ran up the stairs as fast as he did just then. The whole time, he was crying. Once he got to his room, he slammed the door.
"Don't you think that was a bit harsh?" Luna questioned.
"Well, we asked, and he persisted to get angrier." Rita replied.
"He never loses his temper that fast." Lori remarked.
"That's exactly what I mean, dudes." Luna replied.
"He didn't even take his food with him." Lola noticed.
"Why don't we just ignore him? He did what he did, with no hesitation whatsoever, so clearly he must have meant it." Lynn said.
"Lynn, You've got to think about it. He has a really large temper, and it's really hard for him to lose it so quickly like that." Lori reminded her.
"You all are so soft over Lincoln, the same way he is. Let's just eat." Lynn retorted.
So the family did that. Meanwhile, Lincoln was in his room, crying.
"Why have you done this to me? You said you would prepare me, and you're only doing the opposite. The constant pressure between you and my family just hurt my family." Lincoln said to the imaginary voice, his voice constantly breaking. He expected an answer, even though he knew he wouldn't get one.
Since he got grounded, the only thing he could do was just lay there in bed. Meanwhile, downstairs, the Loud family just finished dinner. All of Lincoln's sisters came upstairs to check on Lincoln.
Once the sisters opened the door, Lincoln said, "Go away. I know what I did, and now I am receiving the punishment." Meanwhile he proceeded to hide himself under the covers.
"Lincoln, we talked it out with the entire family. Besides Lynn, we're still working it out with her. Besides, we need to figure out what's going on, Lincoln." Lori said calmly.
After a few seconds of silence, he replied back, "It's no use. The same thing is just going to happen."
"We can find other ways of making this happen." Luna said, encouragingly.
"I'm going to be real honest with you guys. If I could talk about it, I would have done it this morning." Lincoln said, in which afterward, his parents and Lynn came up.
"Just leave me be. This whole situation is a mystery to me." He said once he heard the three of them arrive.
"Can we speak to Lincoln alone, girls?" Rita asked.
They all replied, "Okay." and shuffled out of the room. Lynn Sr. closed the door behind him.
Hopefully, the production of the third chapter should not take this long. This chapter turned out to be longer than I had first anticipated it to be. I meant for this to include Tuesday, but Monday's situation got so long I just decided to end it here.
