The women make it down to the dining area.
Sesshomaru could hear her laughter… how he missed that smile.. her voice.. her everything.
The demon put his hands in his pockets as the women moved closer to the dining area. He stood against a wall… waiting to see he r.
Rin was too busy enjoying her time with the two elder women that she hadn't noticed the demon in the room staring at her until he pulled out her chair.
She saw claws and glanced behind her. She never felt so uncomfortable in her life.
She pops his hand as if he was a child and pins him with an evil glare. "I got it!"
If there was no suspicion… it was definitely in the air now.
Izayoi and Kagome's attention falls to Rin and Sesshomaru. They wondered if this exchange would become more volatile. But Toga and Inuyasha enter the area, easing the tension.
"Greetings." Toga side eyes Sesshomaru. "Oh, son, you are here too. I thought you left," he says sarcastically.
Toga wanted to embarrass him, he was sure of it. He knew he wasn't going anywhere. Rin was here. There was no chance he would leave without seeing her.
He couldn't take his mind off of… taking her… right here in front of everyone. His youkai had no care in the world when it came to his mate. She would be claimed and everyone would see it.
Sesshomaru sucked in a breath and moved away from Rin.
Izayoi motioned her hand for everyone to take their seats. "Please, everyone, take your seats."
Rin engages in conversation with everyone except for Sesshomaru. He even tried to make small comments here and there, but Rin would only glance over and half-smile at him.
The night was going smoothly for Rin while Sesshomaru looked pitiful.
"Why do you keep gawking at Rin?" Inuyasha turns to Rin. "Rin, isn't he annoying?"
Rin looks over at Sesshomaru and looks him up and down. "He can't take his eyes off this human woman. A beautiful human woman."
Everyone at the table eyes widened. Rin no longer cared about what Sesshomaru thought of them. But everyone could clearly see something was going on between them.
Sesshomaru chuckles. "Your tail is too far up your ass. You simply annoy me."
Rin shook her head. She didn't need this. She didn't even say anything disrespectful, but he made it seem as so.
Toga rises from his seat. "Sesshomaru!"
Rin stood to stop Toga. "It is fine. I will take my leave." She bows, "thank you for once again inviting me into your home." She turns to her sister. "I will call you later, Kagome."
"Wa-." Toga stops Izayoi from speaking. He spoke with his eyes and she relaxed. He shook his head. They have to handle this on their own.
Izayoi saw Rin as another daughter. She wanted to protect her, but it was out of her hands.
Sesshomaru stood. "This was worthless." He only said what he said to get under her skin.
He had to stop her from leaving. It felt like years since they last were together, and it had only been a week. A week of suffering for the demon.
Inuyasha stood and growled, "Back off, Sesshomaru!"
Rin was Kagome's little sister, therefore, his sister. He wouldn't allow Sesshomaru to be disrespectful to her.
Sesshomaru glares at Inuyasha. His eyes were shifting from amber to red. "Mind yours!" He growled and leaves the room.
"What the he-."Toga grabbed his son's arm. Inuyasha looked at that grip on his arm. "Father!" Toga shook his head no. "Let him go."
Once Sesshomaru was out of the room, Toga says, "This is something he has to deal with… Rin as well."
Toga lets go of Inuyasha's arm.
Inuyasha finally got it. "Is he rejecting her?"
"He will have to deal with consequences if he continues to do so."
Inuyasha crosses his arm and shook his head. "What a damn idiot." He grabs Kagome by the arm. "Come on, Kagome. Let's go."
Kagome waves bye as she is being dragged by Inuyasha.
Izayoi fell back in her chair. "This is a lot."
"Hmm," her husband responds.
