AN: Welcome to my Glee/House of Ashes fic. I just finished the game and instantly knew who Kurt's pairing Jason would be, so that's what's happening here. There will be info on how Kurt became linked to the marines before the fic be sure to read it, yes it will be mainly horror and action but the love between Jason and Kurt will be just as strong of a topic.

So, I decided to change the year to 2021 and have the enemy actually be ISIS, well the human enemy the group is in war with. Also, Salim isn't an ISIS fighter, he works with the Americans as an informant and interpreters on occasion.
Kurt joined the Marines when Finn did, hoping to ease Finn's fears of going alone, it only worked up until the day Finn was killed by a suicide bomber and Kurt was injured. That happened 2 years prior to this story.
Eric is Kurt's older cousin and overly protective of him though Kurt has been with Rachel, Nick, Joey, Merwin and Jason the past year.
Jason was instantly attracted to Kurt the day his laid eyes on him, that attraction turned into a massive crush over eight months, one which only Nick knew of because he constantly had to hear about how amazing Kurt was but also hear how scared Jason was of being rejected by Kurt not knowing Kurt had feelings for the boy as well.
To Nick's excitement, Jason finally confessed to Kurt the night Kurt got hit on by a creep who wouldn't take no for an answer, and in return got a broken jaw the minute the guy tried to drag Kurt into an alley to sexually assault him, leaving Kurt shaken for weeks and feeling like that was all he could expect from anyone who had any interest in him. They were a couple not even ten minutes after Jason's confession.
Kurt is an extremely skilled fighter, mastering Krav Maga and several other lethal forms of martial arts as well as expert marksmen with his shotgun, AK-47 and revolver. He also is very skilled with the say swords he always keeps on him as well as being fluent in English, Spanish, French, Greek, German, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic and Italian.
Salim and his son were saved from ISIS fighters by Kurt and recruited to join his team.
Jason and Kurt have been dating the past four years, and unknown to his boyfriend Jason actually got in touch with Burt to ask for his permission in asking Kurt to marry him.
Kurt and Jason's time in the Marines is coming to an end with both only having six months left in their service

WALK THROUGH HELL WITH YOU (CH.1: Didn't Go as Planned)
"So that's the plan, I want you already to go in the next two hours, dismissed" Eric King announced to his team that would be escorting him on a mission to find chemical weapons in the area. The team consisting of some new faces in the form of Nick, Joey and Merwin while also having mixed feelings about the ones he knew. He was thrilled to finally see his cousin after a year apart in the extremely long hug he gave Kurt didn't say it loud enough, while also smirking wide while quickly sneaking a box that contained an engagement ring, to Kurt's boyfriend Jason both excited as fuck to hopefully bring some joy to Kurt's life, after losing Finn only a few months ago. Both men clearly were reliving the nightmare of a day, Jason being right beside Kurt's crying his eyes out as his boyfriend heavily bled from his head due to being thrown several feet away from the building he had started walking into, while Eric was sobbing hundreds of miles away, listening to the news that one of his cousins was dead and the other was seriously wounded. Neither knowing if Kurt would make it, and neither men had ever heard the other so broken than they did those few days Kurt remained in a coma until finally Jason tears stopped the minute the limp hand he was holding squeezed him gently, causing him to snap his neck so quick up he was sure he got whiplash as he stared into the open eyes of his crying boyfriend.
"Finn's dead, isn't he?" Kurt choked out to which tears reformed in Jason's eyes as he scooped his boyfriend into his arms and held Kurt as he broke down, weeks later when Kurt was finally released from the hospital, but still miserable Jason brought love back in the boys heart as they lay in each other's arms that night.
"I'm so sorry about Finn babe, but Kurt, I thought you were going to die, and I, fuck I can't. You can't die Kurt, I love you, I love you fucking much, please don't do that to me again please." Jason pleaded to which Kurt simply promised to do his best before the tears came again and the two men fell asleep pleasing their love
It was only a day later that Jason asked Burt in him blessing the man in asking Kurt to marry him, and just like that months later he was finally getting the ring to propose during their days off after this mission. Fuck he wanted to do it the minute Kurt turned to him and gave him his gorgeous smile, before pulling him into a kiss, which could've gotten very heated had they not had an audience.
"Where were you just now?" Kurt asked as he linked his fingers with Jason as they sat and waited for the others
"Lost in your beauty, well and your fucking masterpiece of an ass" Jason added making Kurt laugh loudly
"Hey, I want you close to me when we are out there okay?" Jason asked, the fear in his voice not going unnoticed by Kurt
"Jason come on; I can take care of myself" Kurt started exasperated only to have his boyfriend cut him off
"I know you can babe, and I know how capable you are, but it doesn't stop me from worrying. I love you Kurt, I love you more than I've ever loved anyone" Jason confessed, tears barely held back is what changed his boyfriend's attitude about Kurt's safety as he pulled Jason tightly against him and locked their lips in a heated exchange before breaking away and whispering.
"By your side is the only place I want to be, forever and ever" Kurt replied not knowing the weight of those words in Jason's ears, before within a blink of an eye they had boarded the chopper and just as quickly exited it as they group separated and started interrogating several groups of enemy soldiers. Jason only losing his cool and striking one in the side of the head when the fucker spat in Kurt's face, though his boyfriend was about to reprimand him, instead Jason found himself tackled to the floor by Kurt as a militia of bullets shot through the room and killed all of the men, they had captured. Jason and Rachel only made it out due to Kurt's quick reflexes as he took four enemy fighters out faster than anyone else could blink while also getting Jason and Rachel outside and covered before he and Salim continued to assault on the men who began firing on them, to Jason's horror the dead body of Joey lay next to him, his friends eyes wide though without life.
"Kurt BEHIND YOU!" Eric screamed making Jason turn to his boyfriend quicker than ever before as he watched as Kurt barely dodged a bullet to the head, anger surged in his veins as he targeted the bastard who tried to kill the love of his life and just as quickly took the bastard and three of his friends out.
Eric and Kurt had taken the lead and were instructing their team who to handle the situation, when without warning the ground beneath them sunk in and swallowed each and every member down, the only thing that comforted Jason was that he, Kurt and Salim were next to each other when it happened and that's the group he woke up with several seconds later, as they appeared to have landed in some decades old tomb.
"KURT! Can you hear me? Kurt come in!" Eric's voice shouted from Kurt's walkie making Jason's boyfriend answer quickly, and within a few seconds they had a plan to try and meet up, just as Kurt seemed to stop talking and freeze in front of him with wide eyes.
"Babe what's wrong?" Jason asked only to see what Kurt saw and judging by Salim's fear they had all seen something, not human run past them with a shriek only a few feet away.
"Something's down here with us." Kurt barely got out before a closer shriek wailed and Kurt was having Jason and Salim run next to him as the three of them made it through a door and working together managed to slam it shut just as whatever was chasing them shrieked in anger at not getting to what it wanted.
"What the fuck was that?" Jason demanded as he brought Kurt into his arms, eyes meeting Salim's and the other man simply shaking with fear not knowing how to answer Jason's question. The only thing the three men knew was that they had a bigger problem than enemy soldiers. None of them knew just how big the problem was, by the end of it they would be walking out of the tomb with two of their friends dead and another turned, a problem they weren't ready to face but had no choice now.
