When I'd asked Rain whether there would be another movie night at Harrington's this Friday night, they had lied to me. Terribly. Trying to get closer to Rain Wheeler was like Sarah trying to reach the Goblin City in 'Labyrinth' - nothing was going my way and there were obstacles at every corner. Sometimes I felt like they wanted me to flirt, other times I got the feeling they were scared of me or something. My week had been bland to say the least; most of the tattoos I'd done were boring tribal shit. During my breaks I'd gotten to know the new girl more - Annie Leonards - she was a cool artist, though looking at her you would never be able to tell since she had no visible tattoos. Whilst speaking to Annie I'd learned that she actually knew Rain a fair bit, so I'd steered every conversation towards that. Annie was a nice girl - too plain and basic for my taste - but nice.

After work I headed towards my van in the parking lot, when I heard Mike Wheeler shouting my name across the street. Wheeler and Sinclair headed to my van as I leaned against it. "Hey man, any chance of a ride to Steve's later?" Mike tilted his head up at me. "why?" I said and crossed my arms, already knowing the answer. "Movie night, duh. You wanna come right?" Lucas scoffed. I clicked my tongue and said, "What makes you think I wanna go to movie night?" Mike and Lucas side eyed each other and Mike smirked, "Rain will be there." I pretended to think about it for a couple minutes before shrugging, "Sure, I guess I can make an appearance. I gotta head home first and change though." I was covered in ink and needed to clean myself up.

Annie approached us, "Hey boys, what are ya'll smirking about?" Mike and Lucas gave me a look that said 'who the hell is this?' I turned slightly to Annie and said "Nothing, these are my non-biological kid brothers and they were just leaving". I began opening the driver's side door to head home; Lucas and Mike had started walking away, when Lucas threw his head back and shouted, "Oh by the way, there's a party at Linda's tomorrow night - she's dating Steve - we're all invited. You should come." I knew exactly what Sinclair meant when he said 'all' - Rain would be at the party. As I stuck one foot in the van, Annie put her hand on my arm, "could you give me a ride? look's like it's gonna storm and the bus is always late."

Honestly, I didn't want to drive Annie home because her house was a 40 minute drive in the other direction. I also didn't want to be a dick to the new girl at work though. "Hop in." I said to her, but she was already skipping to the passengers side. The drive to Annie's place was awkward as hell - she shot about a thousand questions at me. Some were pretty invasive too. I kept my answers short and sweet, thinking about what I would say to Rain later. When I finally dropped Annie at her place, she leaned across and put one arm around my shoulder to smush our cheeks together, "Thank you so much Eddie!". Once she was out of my van I exhaled loudly. Thank fuck for that. This little good deed was making me late - I had to shower and change clothes like my ass was on fire. I yanked a plain red tee over my head before jogging back to the van to make it to Sinclair's house. "You're late. They've probably already picked the movie without us, I swear to god if Robin makes us sit through another rom-com I'm gonna lose it!" Lucas wasn't impressed. I stepped on the gas to get us to Harrington's place only 35 minutes late. Once again, Steve didn't look too pleased to see me, but he also didn't look surprised. "Max chose The Goonies" was all he said as we walked inside.

Rain was already slouching back in one of the beanbags, staring at the ceiling. Nobody had claimed the spaces next to them yet, so I stealthily made my way to the beanbag and placed myself next to them. "Oh. Eddie. Hi..." was all Rain said, the shock and guilt on their face was clear. Looking into Rain's eyes set off a tingling feeling in my bones, and I forgave them instantly for lying to me about tonight. "Sup Wheeler? I hear we're in for The Goonies. Don't be brave - if you get scared, Eddie's right here" I teased playfully, making them snort with laughter. "If you get scared I'm sure Dustin wouldn't mind holding your hand" Rain shot back with a grin. Everyone remained pretty settled during the movie. Max sat on the other side of Rain, with her head leaning on their shoulder. I didn't know Max at all really, other than that Lucas was totally in love with her still and wanted to rekindle their relationship, but Max's home life was hard and she pulled away from everyone. I wasn't an idiot - I knew Max and Rain had a tight bond because of Billy. I'd always wanted to thank Max for what she did; telling the cops what that psycho had done to Rain, but the opportunity had never presented itself.

Throughout the movie I felt Rain's eyes flicking my way every now and then. I swear I even felt them slowly looking over my body; I had to concentrate really hard to not get a little excited by that. I'd watched 'The Goonie's' three times this year already, so I began zoning out towards the end and daydreaming. I gripped Rain's hips and thrust myself inside them - Rain moaned my name and yanked on my hair. I kissed Rain's throat as I continued driving myself deeper inside them. They wrapped their legs around me and told me to ruin them... oh fuck. Stop Eddie. Stop. I worriedly looked down to make sure there was no visible sign of my dirty day dreaming - then forced myself to think about the most unsexy thing to calm myself down - Annie Leonards. It worked.
