A/N: This story was inspired and written for the GW Valentine's Event 2022. Thank you so much for sending over those plot bunnies. All three prompts were too tempting to pass up and it's been a joy to write! Also, I cannot thank Revy679 enough for betaing so quickly for me! (Because deadlines have been the bane of my existence, except, I'd probably never post anything without them. XD)

I hope you enjoy it as much as I had fun writing it!

Just One More Time, For Old Times Sake

Chapter 1 Reconnecting

By: JenJenGundamFan

February 13th AC 212

Brussels, Belgium

Hilde awoke in an empty bed, frustrated for the tenth day in a row, she angrily grabbed the remote for the blackout curtains, allowing the daylight to pour in, but the scene beyond the windows made her blood curdle, it did nothing to appease her rage. Ordinarily, Mid-February was cold and typically rainy in Brussels, but snow? Never. The frozen water was practically a Goddamn fairy tale dream to those living in the colonies. She should've been more excited to see the fluffy white stuff.

Opting to roll over instead, away from the picturesque wonderland; her attention landed on her husband's pillow, where he had placed a bright yellow notecard, standard for Preventers internal office memos. Apathetic, she picked up the cardstock, shimmied to a comfortable sitting position against the cushiony headboard, and began to read the messy handwritten note from her husband.

Good morning Babe,

I'm sorry I've been working so much! Here's hoping we'll be wrapping up stuff today, and I'll be home by dinner. I can't stand another night of cafeteria food and, as always, being away from you.

Love and miss you, oodles and oodles!

D

She groaned and rolled her eyes as she tossed the note on the bedside table, thinking how much she hated everything at the moment. Usually, when Duo worked on Earth, she immersed herself in their business back home in the colonies, giving her little to no time to dwell on his lengthy absence.

She yearned to be in the comforts of their home. She regretted leaving her crew for months when she was more than capable of working. And most of all, she missed her friend's company. Besides Relena, she didn't have many friends on Earth, and the foreign minister was always traveling.

She slid back down, laying flat on the mattress once again, wallowing with depression. She reached over, grabbed the remote, and turned on the TV. She searched for anything to watch to get her mind off her negativity.

Flipping through the channels randomly, loud moans were suddenly blasting through the speakers and she quickly turned down the volume. When the screen faded from black, a full-on orgy unfolded on-screen, much to her surprise, she continued to watch the scene unfold. As the group began to hump, heat rose within her body, and her core dripped with need and begging to be touched. She ran her hand down her soft, thin white nightgown, hiking up the short dress to help ease her nimble fingers into her panties, and reached her final destination. She softly flicked at it at first, but with every move she made, she massaged more vigorously, untill she cried out at her peak, "fuck!"

Once her breathing evened, she pulled her hand out of her undies, turned off the pornographic scene, and got out of bed. She almost forgot how miserable her mood was until a sharp pain sliced through her lower back. She moaned in agony, then forced herself out of bed to take a hot shower.

Once finished bathing, she decided to get out of the house. So she dried her body, wrapped the cloth around her, and cruised to the closest to select a cute outfit with lots of layers for warmth. She styled her short black hair in its signature pixie-cut waves and even forced herself to wear a dash of makeup. When she was ready to leave the house, she squeezed her swollen feet into her makeshift snowshoes, zipped up her warmest of jackets, and braced herself as she opened the door. The brisk air smacked her in the face, coloring her cheeks a rosy pink as she made her way outside. She was pleased to find that it had stopped snowing.

Hilde strolled along the cobble-stoned city, trying to clear her mind of all the negative thoughts that ran rampant. Her reflections dissipated when she felt her phone vibrate. Excited for some good news, she pulled out the device quickly, but her face frowned as she read the disappointing text from her husband.

It was only 9 am. Shit must have hit the fan, so she acknowledged his text with a one-word response, not watching where she was walking, and right as she was about to look up, she ran into something hard. It knocked the expensive gadget right out of her hand. Immediately, she bent down to retrieve the device while she muttered an apology as her gaze journeyed from the person's black boots up to an all too familiar face.

Dumbfounded, she squealed, "Oh my God, Trowa, is that you? Hi!" She'd not seen her friend in years after retiring from Preventers to rejoin his sister at the circus.

"Are you alright, Hilde?" He questioned with concern, hunching his towering build over, touching both her shoulders gently to steady her balance. She nodded, and he let go. Trowa bent down and picked up his phone, and as he lifted himself back up, he stated, "I'm sorry, it's my fault too. I guess we both need to pay more attention to where we're walking, though; honestly, I'm glad it was you, Hilde. This is a pleasant surprise."

She blushed, grinning from ear to ear, "Isn't it? How are you?!"

Trowa nodded, "I've been well. How about you?"

"Oh, you know, doing as fine as I can be. Bored out of my fucking mind most days."

Trowa smirked, "I'm assuming since you're here, Duo's still working for them?"

Hilde sighed and rolled her eyes, "yeah. He keeps saying he's going to quit, but then those Goddamn assignment dates come in for the next year, and bam, he's back at it again."

"Want me to talk to him?"

"God, yes. I'm not even kidding. Please talk to him. He needs to drop this part-time bullshit. I get he is hesitant about letting go of the past, but it's time to move the fuck on."

Trowa nodded, "well, in that case, I'll knock some sense into him." He tore his gaze away from her to glance at his wristwatch, then back to her. "I'm actually on my way to grab a coffee and some breakfast, would you care to join me?"

Hilde beamed with excitement, "of course, that would be wonderful. I haven't had breakfast yet, and I'm starving!"

"Great, the place is just around the corner, this way," he said, pointing behind her.

"Aright, let's go!" She said and linked her arms around his as she conditioned herself to him as if seven years had not gone by at all.

After walking only a block from where they were, they arrived at a quaint little cafe that a local had recommended to Trowa. They both shed off several layers of jackets, then slid into a booth at the far corner of the restaurant.

A waiter came as they settled in, welcoming them, handing out menus, and asking their drink order. Once he left, instead of examining the menu, she glanced at Trowa. He was fiddling inside his pocket and pulled out a thin black case. He slid out his eyeglasses and brushed his bangs away from his forehead momentarily as he placed the spectacles where they belonged.

Once He looked down at the menu, she covered her mouth with her hand to block the smile and giggled, but it didn't help much because a few seconds later, he looked up with his inquiring green eyes asking, "what's so funny?"

She shook her hand, "It's nothing, I'm sorry," she stated but burst out with a laugh once again at how adorable he was with frames—blocking her smile, trying to calm herself down. "I don't mean to laugh. I never ever pictured you with glasses."

"Oh," he smiled, "these old things? I've had them for years."

"You look good with them," she complimented.

"So I've been told."

"Oh? Is this from a special person?" She singsonged curiously.

He shook his head, "no."

Embarrassed, recollection hit her like a ton of bricks and she quickly apologized, "Trowa, I'm sorry, I sorta forgot…."

With a genuine smile, he cut her off, clarifying, "Don't worry. Cathy's always giving me sisterly advice on everything, especially when it comes to wearing my glasses."

She smiled at the thought of his sister and asked, "how is Cathy?"

"She's doing great; she got married a few years ago; already has a brilliant little three-year-old girl and is doing everything to keep herself busy while she waits anxiously for the newest member of the family."

"Awe, Cathy's pregnant? Congratulations! How far along is she?"

"Six months, I think? Honestly, it's hard to keep track sometimes. Weeks blur to months, and then there goes a whole year."

"Yeah, that's what I hear when you are not pregnant, time seems to move by so quickly, but when you are, well, it's unbearable, and you just want it to be over."

"That's what Cathy has said."

"What is the little girl's name?"

"Anna."

"Awe, such a sweet name! What does little Anna call you? Uncle Trow? Trowey? Trow-Trow?"

He cleared his voice, "uncle Trowaaaa," he said with a higher pitch than his usual deep tone, trying to mimic Anna.

She squealed with delight, "Ohhhh, I can see it now! I hope that our little one can call you that too. It's just the cutest."

He nodded, "of course. How..."

The waiter cut Trowa off, "Here you go. Coffee for the gentleman and tea for the lady." He announced as he set down the drinks in front of them. "Have you both decided on what to order, or do you need a few more minutes?"

"Uh, I haven't even looked yet," she said with an apologetic frown.

"No worries. Please take your time. I'll come back soon," the waiter said and wandered to another table.

"Heh. I guess we should figure out food before we keep talking?"

Trowa nodded, and they both started to study the menu. However, as she tried to look over the list, one question kept gnawing at her. She had to ask, "Trowa?"

He looked up, "yeah?"

"What were you going to say just now, you know, before the waiter cut you off?"

"Oh, I was going to ask how are you and Duo doing?"

"We're doing good," she momentarily paused to consider what she should tell him. Even though she didn't want to burden him during their pleasant meeting, she reasoned running into Trowa must have been a sign, and so she continued, "lately, Duo's been drowning himself with work. I think he's just nervous about the big day. So I've been feeling pretty lonely. There's nothing to do on Earth; I've done what I can, and I'm trying not to get upset at him, but sometimes it's hard to understand why he thought this was a good idea and why I went along with it."

Trowa's brows furrowed together, "big day?" He repeated in question.

Her cheeks heated, mortified that she hadn't said something to him sooner. "Christ, Trowa, I'm sorry, I don't know why I assumed you knew. I'm pregnant!"

"That explains the big day." Trowa picked up his coffee mug and saluted his glass in her direction, "congratulations!"

"Thank you! I periodically forget people don't know since I'm not really showing at the moment."

"Yeah, I would not have guessed you were. How far along are you?"

"Five months."

"Not much longer. When do you guys go back home?"

She sighed heavily, "In the best interest of our family, I'll be delivering here, and we'll be going back three months after I give birth," she expressed monotonously.

"That's a long time to be away from home. How long have you been here already?"

"We spent Christmas with Relena and Heero," she said flatly.

"That long, huh?"

"Yep," she said with her eyebrows raised in annoyance.

"Duo usually doesn't work for Preventers this long. Has his contract agreement increased over the years?"

"No, the only reason why he's working longer this time around is so that Sally can help with the delivery. Not that she doesn't have enough on her plate already, but she insisted."

"Isn't Sally part-time too?"

"She is." She had to ask even though she was hesitant bringing up the subject. "Have you spoken to any of the others over the years? I feel terrible that we haven't spoken. Duo and I really missed you, but we didn't know when the right moment was for us to bug you, and then years went by, and well, it left us deeply embarrassed that we had not contacted you sooner."

"Don't. Hilde, it goes both ways. I never wanted to lose contact, but I was on a long road of recovery after what happened." He paused, took a sip of his coffee, and placed it back down on the coaster. "I think we should figure out what to order before our waiter comes back and gets annoyed," he stated with a wink.

Her heart started to race, and she quickly agreed while she lifted the menu to cover her blushing red face. She attempted to figure out what to order. However, studying the menu proved much more of a challenge as a flashback pushed its way into the forefront of her mind, ricocheting their friendship back to a decade earlier.

"So, let me get this straight. You are asking me if I would like to have a three-way with the two of you?"

"Yes, but if you do anything that isn't in agreement, I swear I'll fuck you up, Trowa. I don't care how close of a friend you are!" Duo said, balling his fist with the threat.

Trowa raised his hands to calm him, "Whoa, easy. You won't have to worry about me."

"And why not?" Duo snapped while he folded his arms across his chest.

"Because, Duo, I'm asexual," Trowa admitted.

The braided man scratched the back of his head, "so, you don't get the hots for anyone?"

Trowa didn't reply for a moment, then swayed his head from side to side. "Um, yes, I don't have the same feelings of attraction as you do, but also no because, like you, I need sex quite often."

"But if you don't find sex appeal in people, what the fuck do you get from sex?"

"Well, what does sex do for you?" Trowa repeated.

Duo looked upward in thought, then answered, "well, for starters, I get this feeling of fullness..."

Trowa cut him off, "Duo, that was a rhetorical question."

Hilde cut in, "what my dear husband is trying to figure out is if you'll get hung up on me or him after all is said and done." Hilde glared at Duo, flinging silent daggers in his direction. She couldn't believe how embarrassed that made her.

He shook his head, "no. Both of you are good friends, and I wouldn't care less if we did this a hundred times, or just the one. It doesn't matter to me; I'll attain what I am looking for regardless."

Duo grabbed Hilde's arm and excused the two of them into the other room. He spoke in a calm, low voice, "I'm okay with Trowa as the third if you are?"

She let out a little enclosed scream of excitement and whispered in reply, "I was a little hesitant at first about asking Trowa, even though technically it was my idea, but I'm so relieved that he won't care one way or the other. He'll still be our friend, regardless, and that is what's perfect for what we are looking for."

Duo looked at her with a severe expression. Not a hint of humor crossed his handsome features, and he emphasized, "It's your call, Hil, whatever you want to do, I'll do it."

"Miss…. miss…. and for you?" The waiter carried her back to the present.

She looked up open-mouthed, caught like a deer in headlights. How long had she been deep in thought? She wondered as she fluidly closed her menu, hoping to play it off like she'd been paying attention. "I will start with one Granola Maison, then I'll have two of the Œufs Royal, but please tell the chef I need the eggs over hard. And I'll be hungry later, so I'll take a slice of banana bread and a chocolate croissant to go." She elaborated, handing the menu back to the waiter.

When the waiter left, Trowa raised an eyebrow, and she innocently asked, "what?"

"Nothing," he spoke, shaking his head in response.

Not believing him, she pressed, "no, clearly somethings up. What?"

"That's just a lot of food. I've never seen you order so much before."

"Oh, you know, I'm in that stage where I can literally eat a whole house and still be hungry."

"So, you've become your husband, a bottomless pit?" He gabbed.

"Pretty much," she said with a laugh and he joined in.

"Say, what are you and Duo doing tonight?" He asked curiously.

"He's working till who knows when, and me, I'll have the check my calendar," she pretended to look and resumed with a witty response, "oh, wait a minute, it looks like my couch just canceled on me. Why, what do you have in mind?" She eyed him in question.

He grinned, "in that case, I can put your name on the list for tonight's opening at the circus, if you'd like?"

"I'd love that," she cried, teary-eyed, and cursed her pregnancy hormones. Before she could weep any further than just a few tears, the waiter brought over their food, and a whole different set of feelings replaced her mood as she eyed the food and her stomach growled.

The rest of the time went exceptionally well. Hilde's worries of awkwardness left her entirely as they ate their terrific meal like the seven-year separation had never occurred.

When it was time to leave, she wrapped her arms around Trowa's waist and brought him into a big loving embrace. He reciprocated, and once they broke contact, he stated, "see you tonight!"

She waved goodbye, and they both parted ways opposite of each other.

After the long morning, she finally arrived home at a quarter past twelve. She plopped herself on the couch and pulled her phone out of her purse. She opened up her messages to Duo's and started to type.

Guess who I literally ran into this morning?

But as quickly as she typed the message she deleted it. She knew he wasn't going to answer her, so why even bother? She might as well tell him later. So she clicked the back button and typed in Trowa's name in her contacts. It pulled up the last text before they stopped speaking to each other, before….the accident.

05/27/206

Duo and I just got out of work.

BTW, Duo says to put on the red ones.

"Goddamn, it," Hilde cursed loudly and slammed her phone on the soft cushion of the couch. She thought she was doing so well! She managed to only think about their past once, but now, after reading his message, all she craved was to be fucked by both men. Though realistically, she knew that wasn't going to happen, so she needed the only man she counted on to show up to care for her needs.

She stood and marched to the bedroom, straight to the underwear drawer, where she ransacked it until she pulled out the bright red thong Duo loved so much. Hilde quickly undressed and shimmied into the tiny thong, then went to find the matching bra from the closet and strapped it on, not caring that she was a cup size larger now. She stuffed the girls and straightened them as best she could, then arranged herself on the bed. Hilde grabbed her phone, turned on the camera, and examined herself for the best possible angle. She fixed a loose strand of hair and then bit her lower lip as she showcased her husband's favorite outfit, snapped the photo, then sent it off in hopes this would be enough to entice him to come home for a quickie. To top it off, she sent a follow-up message.

So, balls in your court now. I'm wondering how long it's going to take you to come over here and fuck me senseless?

She closed her eyes as she touched herself while she waited for a response, remembering the very last time both men penetrated her simultaneously. She was about to slip a finger inside when she heard her phone charm. She beamed with excitement, knowing all too well when her husband worked for Preventers, she rarely got a response right away from his personal phone. Her heart raced, but her face fell into a mortified look of terror as she read the text notification from Trowa.

As enticing as your picture and text may be, it's not wise with Duo not around.

Hilde placed her hand over her face and moaned in agony. How the fuck did she get herself into this? She took a deep breath and replied.

Oh God, Trowa, I'm so sorry! I thought I was texting Duo!

Uh-huh, I see, even though we haven't texted each other in the last six years.

Oh no, Hilde thought, how the hell was she going to get out of this one? She couldn't very well tell him the truth, that she was touching herself to the thought of his cock…. or could she?

Okay, you kinda caught me. Truth is, I was going to message Duo about seeing you but decided to tell him later, he wouldn't have responded anyway. So, I searched for your name. I wanted to thank you for a lovely afternoon, but when I read the last message from you, well... it's embarrassing.

I'm curious. What did it say? When I got my new phone, I never bothered to back up my messages.

Are you seriously going to make me remind you?

Yes.

Fine.

Her heart pounded out of her chest. She copied, past, and sent the last message.

05/27/206

Duo and I just got out of work.

BTW, Duo says to put on the red ones.

So, that's why you put them on?

Yes.

We had some wild and crazy nights, the three of us, didn't we?

She considered what to say next. She and Duo hadn't had a threesome since Trowa and wondered if both would be down again.

I must admit, remembering the last night we all spent together instigated my picture and message. Honestly, I'm glad my accidental text landed in your inbox rather than someone else's.

Same. In the wrong hands, it could have been a fiasco.

Several minutes went by. She had no idea what to say or how even to ask if he was still interested in that sorta thing anymore. She was relieved when she saw the three tiny dots, indicating he was typing.

I wanted to make sure you know how important both of you are to me. Even though we've been out of touch for the last several years, I still consider the two of you my best friends.

Deeply touched, she replied,

Trowa, that means a lot. Duo and I both figured it got weird after what happened.

I know. I wasn't in the headspace, and I'm sorry.

I'm sorry, we automatically assumed.

Don't. You guys didn't know, and it doesn't matter now.

Yes, it does.

I know you are unhappy that you've been grounded to Earth for several months, but I don't believe in coincidences. Nor did we run into each other today for no reason. I hope to build onto our friendship and never lose touch again.

Hilde choked out in awe. Well, there was no way that she could just ask him now if he was down for a threesome….. Great.

I know we both want that.

I'll see you tonight. But for warning, this is kid-friendly entertainment, Hilde, so don't think you can waltz right through the grounds wearing that sexy lingerie of yours and get away with it.

She smirked and thought, oh, he's good...I see what you're doing, Trowa…. So she crafted a witty reply, just like the old days.

Oh? And what would be my crime and punishment?

For exposing too much, I'll be forced to call a Preventer agent on you.

She squealed with delight, now was her chance to test the waters.

There used to be two. What happened to the second?

He retired, but I guess I could call him for backup if you were too much for the one agent.

Oh, I am too much, better call for backup, both agents worked well together.

I know. He was irreplaceable.

She laughed. Knowing all too well, that was a very true statement unto itself.

Indeed. Thank you so much for a lovely morning. You don't know how lonely I was feeling today. Running into you has been the highlight of this trip so far, and I can't wait to see you tonight!

Mine as well. I'll see you tonight. I'll have someone direct you backstage once the performance is over.

Amazing! Later clown boy!

?

She backed out of their chat and selected Duo's work number. With ill intent, she typed,

Emergency. Come home now.

She grinned when she saw him typing back right away. She hated to cry wolf, but a girls gotta do, what a girls gotta do to satisfy her desire.

Are you okay?! What is going on?!

I need you to come home now.

I can't. I'm in the middle of something that I can't just leave...

GET HOME NOW!

Can I send Sally? Is there something wrong with the baby?!

She hit her face with her palm, why was Duo such a good employee? Where was the reckless man she fell in love with from the start? Then, there it was, like being struck by lightning, the answer to her prayers. The word of all words to get her husband home ASAP that they used for very important emergencies.

Gardyloo

She giggled. She could hear him sigh as he texted her.

Fine. Be home shortly.

A mischievous smirk crossed her lips as she settled into bed while she patiently waited for her husband to arrive home. At least she was going to get what she wanted tonight.
