Steve picked us up at 8 looking like a movie star in deep blue jeans and a close fitting grey buttondown with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He gave each of us a smile and ran round to the passenger side to open the door for Nancy. The energy between them was a little awkward at first, as if they didn't know what to say to eachother, luckily Robin's mouth loved taking control in these kinds of situations, "Do you think we'll be able to smell the farm from the field? Because I don't think people will be happy partying with the stench of cow shit around them." Vicky and I just laughed, hitting our heads against the seats. Steve shrugged, speechless. Nancy answered, "The animals are at the other end. I went to a party there a couple years ago, couldn't smell a thing." Eventually Steve pulled up near a ton of other cars and we spilled out, following a horde of people being led by booming music. Nancy was right, you couldn't smell the farm from here. The land was gigantic and tonight the bare field was decked out with speakers, fold away chairs and tables, crates upon crates of alcohol, an unlit bonfire, and tarp sheets laid out with blankets. I hardly remembered this Danny guy from school - but from the looks of it, he knew how to throw a party.

The five of us hung around the outskirts waiting for the gang to arrive; Danny had a sister their age so the younger ones were welcome to join. Pretty soon they showed up on their bikes; Will sitting on the back of Mike's with his arms wound around Mike's waist. "This party better be worth it man, I wanted to watch Cujo tonight." Dustin slapped his hand into Steve's. Steve ruffled Dustin's bouncy curls and replied, "chill, go have fun, but not too much fun. I got my eyes on all of you." I saddled up to Max and twirled a strand of her hair in my finger, she had it in a low pony with chunky strands framing her face, "suits you like this." I complimented her and she broke into a smile, hugging me with one arm, "Thanks Rain, you look...I can't even describe it, wow." Lucas, Mike and Will were chatting amongst themselves as we headed into the field, but I could see the struggle in Mike and Will's body language, trying not to be overly affectionate with eachother. A lanky man with Ash blonde hair and huge square glasses greeted us with open arms, "welcome to the field of dreams, grab a drink. Bonfire gets lit at 10." Steve fist bumped the guy, "good to see you Dan, place looks awesome."

We each grabbed a beer and hovered in a circle; chatting and laughing as more and more people flooded onto the field. "HENDEEERSOOON!" A wailing echoed through the air, making us all snap around to see Eddie running down the hill followed by the rest of the Hellfire Club. Eddie reached Dustin's side, across from me, swinging his arms round Dustin's shoulders. "DUDE! you came, We didn't think you'd wanna come after the last party." Dustin slapped his hand onto Eddie's. "Nah, I'd never pass on a good shindig." Eddie replied, winking at me. Our Circle expanded to accommodate everyone. Jeff was now standing beside Max on my left; to my right Nancy announced, "who wants a drink? Steve and I Will grab some." When Will turned to Mike with a nervous expression, Nancy continued, "kids are limited to 3 beers maximum all night. I mean it." With that she and Steve wandered to the Alcohol Crates. "Anybody meeting a Special Someone tonight - Or planning to?" Robin attempted to sound casual but I knew her meddling b well enough to recognise What she was doing. "well my girlfriend is in another state So no." Dustin answered. Lucas and Max glanced at eachother awkwardly. Mike coughed, "I think we'd rather just hang out as a party, right guys?" The rest Of hellfire murmured in agreement, they were all single. I caught Eddie's eyes in Mine for a second before he raked them Up and down my body, tongue flicking out to lick his lips. I was grateful for the dim lighting, hiding my flushing cheeks.

Steve and Nancy returned with a full crate, nobody wasted Any time before grabbing one. Blondie started rattling over the speakers and Vicky grabbed Robin by the Wrists, Pulling her into the centre field, dancing. I saw Gareth me his eyes and groan, "Ugh Chick music." The others laughed and he clapped a hand onto Mike's shoulder, "C'mon lets go find some Chicks to drink with." He began steering Mike in the direction of a group of girls, and I saw a disappointed expression Cross Will's face and my heart hurt for him, trying to live in the closet was extremely suffocating. Steve took a step back saying, "How about we get some Chairs by the fire; get the best view Of it being lit?" Nancy's face broke into a Smile, "yeah let's go" she nodded, and the two of them began walking away. Dustin sighed heavily, "Oh man he is totally gonna throw himself at Nance. It's like he enjoys getting his heart broken. They're never gonna last!" Max and Lucas shared a tight smile before Max responded, "Maybe it will be different this time. Maybe they both just needed space to grow and come back to each other." Lucas dipped his head awkwardly. Dustin didn't look convinced. The whole time I could feel Eddie's eyes burning into my skin, and I was desperate to be alone with him. "Why don't you guys go monitor them, make sure Harrington doesn't embarrass himself, or let Nancy drink too much." Eddie suggested, as if sensing my need for him. Dustin immediately took off towards where they sat, dragging Lucas with him. Max gave me a suspicious look over her shoulder as she followed, eyes flicking to Eddie.

Once they were gone Eddie took a step towards me and shoved a hand through his hair, puffing out his cheeks, "holy fuck. You really wanna kill me tonight don't you?" I grinned self consciously tugging the zipper on my jacket. He took another step towards me and for the first time I could properly see him in the dull lighting; he wore ripped black Jeans with chains hanging from them, a slightly creased black and grey checkered shirt half tucked into them, and his signature double jacket combo. I could see a few hairs poking through at his chest where he had left the top button open. My heart was beating like a drum at the sight of him. "Not exactly gonna be easy keeping my hands to myself either." I murmured. Eddie exhaled loudly, reaching out to pull me close to his chest, hands clasped around my waist as he purred into my ear, "Who said anything about keeping my hands off you? We're in the field of dreams Wheeler, and I can't wait to show you what I dream about."
