Characters in the story: The main cast of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, Surprise Character from a previous adventure. The commander

Commander: Her name is Estavir. Everyone sees her as a tiefling with black horns and a black tail. She has fair skin. Her eyes are a deep red and her hair is black, that turns red at the ends.

She is well versed in combat, but also magic, putting her abilities to the test in every fight that she can.

She is influenced currently by demonic powers.

Story preface: Estavir awoke in Kenabres with no memories of her past and then began to follow the main story of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Those events will be written out, but currently I decided to publish what is basically the start of chapter 3, since that is where things mostly diverge from the original story.

Drezen had been retaken. Due to the commander's tactical choices, few lives had been lost and the morale couldn't be higher. A swift victory had been achieved. A mere three hours and the vast city had been reclaimed. The last remaining demons were killed as the commander proclaimed victory over Drezen. Her voice booming out from the throne room to reach every soldier in the army.

In the coming hours she walked throughout the entire city, no building would be allowed to be entered until she made sure it was safe for her soldiers. She was told to rest, but she wouldn't.

A day after the siege was over, people already began to manage the resources and Estavir was part of every event. She was tired, not having slept since the night before the grand attack. 2 days of having to be fully awake and attentive to everything going on around her.

After the last meeting for the day had been over, she left the castle. Anevia wanted to protest, but Estavir told her she'd be fine. Of course the spymaster was able to spot she hadn't slept yet, but the others didn't seem to see it yet. Her blatant consumption of potions to keep her awake made it easier for her, but she knew it wouldn't work that long.

She was in the main square in front of the citadel. Many were bustling around and she saw Irabeth manage the troops. Estavir walked to one of the sidewalls and sat down. The sun was slowly setting behind the walls of the city, turning the light a reddish hue. It would be so easy for her to just close her eyes for a moment, and she did.

Unbeknownst to the Tiefling, someone else had spotted her. A female red skinned tiefling, with black hair and clad in red and blue clothes, but the striking feature were her orange eyes. The woman slowly walked towards the commander, analyzing her, as if the Black haired tiefling knew her.

The woman walked closer to the commander, who was already fast asleep, and sat down next to her. Her hand went to the commander's head and stroked through Estavir's hair. Without thinking, the commander leaned over to the side and the other Tiefling woman guided her so Estavir's head was resting gently in her lap.

"I've missed you so much.", She said with a Qadiran accent. A few tears streamed down her face, but she wiped them away before they could fall on the sleeping commander.

The Tiefling sat there with the commander's head in her head for almost an hour. Not doing anything except stroking through Estavir's hair. That was until Seelah and Arueshalae arrived in the square and walked towards the two tieflings.

The awake Tiefling noticed them walking towards her, but didn't move much, not wanting to wake the commander resting in her lap.

Seelah was the first to speak up, as usual her voice was quite loud. "Hey there! I don't-", but she was cut off by the Tiefling, who talked in an authoritative, but hushed tone. "Be more quiet. Estavir is sleeping".

Seelah was obviously taken back by the Tiefling knowing the commander's name. Arueshalae looked less surprised, but she also had only recently gotten to know Estavir.

The Paladin didn't quite know how to respond. "I- I'm sorry", her voice a lot quieter than before. "I'm Seelah, I've been traveling with Estavir for some time already. Who are you?"

The Black haired tiefling waited for a moment and then responded. "I'm Kanerah and I'm here to get my wife back." She looked down as she said the latter, a smile on her face.

If Seelah was surprised before, she was shocked now. "You're her wife? But she-" she was about to say something, but remembered something. "Oh, I'm so sorry"

Kanerah raised an eyebrow at the human. "Why are you sorry." At the same time she got more defensive and let some fire burn a bit more inside her body. She'd do everything to get her wife back and to protect her.

"Estavir lost her memory. She came to Kenabres and hasn't been able to remember much since then. I hope she remembers you quickly with you around." her voice was sincere and full of concern. She didn't distrust the Tiefling in front of her.

The Tiefling simply looked down at Estavir, not saying a word, her emotions felt immediately drained. It would explain why there had been no messages or anything, but she didn't want to believe it. She merely continued to stroke through her wife's hair, hoping that when she woke up, she'd immediately remember her. That they could return home. "Thank you for telling me that."

"I'm sorry, I truly am." Seelah herself felt hurt. She couldn't fully understand the pain Kanerah had to be going through, but she still felt sorry. "Would you like to stay here, or move into her room?"

"When was she last seen awake?" She asked without stopping her motions. It kept her thoughts focused on just Estavir. She was able to lie to herself that it would all be okay, but deep within she knew that it wouldn't turn out alright. That she was going to be in pain for some time.

"I think she was last seen in a meeting about an hour ago before she left to walk outside. Estavir must have fallen asleep quite soon after here. She has been working a lot recently." The human didn't quite know what to do. She hated this feeling of being helpless in a situation. Being unable to help others.

Kanerah let out a sigh. "Seems like she didn't change an ounce. I'm glad and disappointed to hear that. She never knew when not to overwork herself for others. Even I couldn't get that out of her head until now." She smiled again and some emotions returned to her voice. Knowing that who she loved did not change, she'd only have to make Estavir fall for herself again. "She needs some proper rest. She probably didn't get any rest at all for the last few days. Would you help carry her? Despite what she looks like, she's not the lightest." A slight chuckle escaped her throat as she said that.

Seelah gave a quiet laugh at the Tiefling's joke. "Oh yeah, I've already had to carry her a few times. She tends to work herself to the bone, falling asleep before she even gets to bed. But she had been assuring us she had gotten some sleep." Seelah moved over to Kanerah to pick up the sleeping commander. The paladin still couldn't understand how Estavir could look like that, yet weigh so much. The commander always played it off as 'Thick Bones'.

"Why does she even weigh that much?" She asked as she walked towards the castle with the sleeping tiefling in her arms, who somehow did not seem disturbed at all.

"She has thick bones." was the only answer Kanerah gave as she walked alongside the Paladin, to which Seelah only gave a deadpan expression. She was unsure if Kanerah was playing the same joke as Estavir on her, or if it was something they'd rather not say.

Meanwhile Arueshalae seemed conflicted if she should follow or not, but decided to follow. She hadn't yet gotten to know the commander, but already cared for her. The succubus stayed silent the whole walk to the commander's chambers. She stayed behind though, as the others entered Estavir's chambers.

Seelah laid down the commander in the bed and Kanerah sat down on the bed. She spoke up. "We can talk if you would like, but I'll get her properly into bed first." Seelah only gave a nod and left the room after that was said. While Kanerah sat down next to her lover, hope was at the forefront of her mind. Hope that it would be alright.
