The scene opens up to Robaire opening the refrigerator, looking for something to eat or snack on as he replies, "Now, let's see... White or rye bread? Or pumpernickel?" He frowns. "Gee, I guess it really depends on the meat inside..., and the cheese." Suddenly, the doorbell rings which makes Robaire smile happily as he look at the direction of the front door. "A visitor?! For me?!"
He closes the fridge as the scene transitions to outside where Norton the mailman is standing before the front patiently as Robaire opens it and greets warmly, "Sup, man!"
Norton holds a package to Robaire as he informs, "Package for Mr. Blanchard."
Robaire takes the package and holds it. "Dope, thanks!" The camera zooms in at Robaire. "So, uh, do you like delivering mail?"
The camera zooms in at a deadpan Norton. "It puts bread on the table."
The camera zooms out slightly to show Robaire and Norton as Robaire quips dryly, "Rye or pumpernickel?" He laughs at his own joke.
Norton, however, doesn't laugh, remaining deadpan as he mutters, "Oh, brother."
"So, do you deliver your own mail or do you have your own mail person? But then who delivers his mail? Is there a never-ending chain of mailmen delivering mail to other mailmen? Well I guess a P.O. box could in theory break the chain–."
"Don't you have a song to write?" That question catches Robaire off-guard as Norton walks away offscreen.
The camera zooms in at a now shell-shocked Robaire who gulps audibly as he asks himself, "How did he know I'm supposed to be writing a song?" Robaire narrow his eyes in suspicion as his eyes blink from both directions a couple of times. The camera zooms out slightly as his eyes blink from both directions two more times before automatically sliding back into his house with the door closing itself.
The scene shifts back in Robaire's house with Robaire walking through the living room the news channel host, Perch Perkins catches his attention as Perch informs, "In other news..." The camera zooms in at the TV screen. "...Local resident, Robaire Blanchard..." A photo of Robaire appears next to Perch. "...Has only a few hours left to complete his song, yet he continues to goof off." The camera pans to a side view angle of Robaire facing the TV up close when suddenly Perch's head sticks out from the TV screen, sardonically smirking at Robaire which startles him "...When will he learn?!..."
The camera zooms out slightly to show Robaire and the back of the TV as Robaire yelps, "AAHH HI-YAH!!!" He instantly karate chops the TV causing a zap and glass breaking which causes the living room to go black.
