Jesus takes the Wheel -Carrie Underwood

She as driving last Friday

on her way to Cincinnati

on a snow white Christmas Eve

going home to see her mamma and

her daddy with the baby in the back seat

50 miles to go and she was running low

on faith and gasoline

It been a long hard year

she had a lot on her mind

and she didn't pay attention

she was goin' was too fast

Before she knew it she was spinning

on a thin black sheet of glass

She saw both their lives flash before her eyes

she didn't have time to cry

she was so scared

she threw her hands up in the air

Jesus take the wheel

Take it from my hands

'cause I can't do this on my own

I'm letting go

so give me one more chance

and save me from this road i'm on

Jesus take the wheel

It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder

and the car came to a stop

and she cried when she saw that baby in the back seat

sleeping like a rock

And for the first time in a long time

she bowed her head to pray

She said, "I'm sorry for the way

I've been living my life,

I know I've got to change

so from now on tonight"

Jesus take the wheel

take it from my hands

'cause I can't do this on my own

I'm letting go

So give me one more chance

and save me from this road I'm on."

Oh,Jesus take the wheel

Oh, I'm letting go

So give me one more chance

Save me from this road I'm on

From this road, I'm.. on

Jesus take the wheel

oh, take it, take it from me

Oh, Why, Oh.

"Mom, Dad, I'm on my way. It's Christmas eve, I'll see you at 10. Love you bye." I turned around to check on my baby girl. She was asleep in the back of the car. 3 "Okay, Google, Turn on GPS!" Cincinnati here I come.

9:00 P.M.

Really God! I have 50 miles left! and barely any gas to make it there!

WHY! MY YEAR SUCKED I DON'T NEED ANY MORE PROBLEMS!

I thought back to this last year

"I'm sorry Ma'am, These are the documents everything you own is to be dealt with by your husband but you no longer own this house. I'm gonna have you escorted off the premises." "Excuse me? I will be contacting my lawyer I don't understand." "If you need to contact a lawyer be my guest." My husband stood outside the front door, "Baby why did we lose the house? I gave you the money for the bills and everything." "I don't know..." He wrapped his arm around my waist, "We'll figure it out..."

"Why are you doing this? I thought we were good!" "I'm not having this conversation. Get you're shit and leave!" "What about our daughter? She needs a father!" "What made you think you were taking her?" He hissed. "She needs me!" I yelled. "More like you need her. LEAVE NOW BEFORE I CALL THE POLICE, don't forget to sign the divorce agreement... I never want to see you again." "You A******e!"

"You have been walking around like a zombie. I have more complaints about you this month than I have since you have worked here!" My boss stood in front of me." "I'm sorry sir, things are a little tough for me right now. I'll promise I'll fix it." "If this is how you act when things get tough then I'm firing you. We can't have slackers and I don't give a shit what you think." "But sir!" "No Buts. Please clean out your office... I have things to get to. I don't want to see you come in anymore. You'll get your final Paycheck and that's it."

"Hello?" My phone went off, "Ma'am, Your payment for your car is past due, Do you have any plans for when you're going to pay it?" "I.. um.. well I don't know the exact day, My company duped me out of a paycheck so I have to figure out what I'm gonna do. "It's a week before Christmas. I'll give you two more weeks." "Thank you so much!"

What's Next?! Why is it all messed up?

The speed-o-meter reached 60 mph, 70 mph... 80 mph... Suddenly She hit Ice.

She screamed, "NO!" She released the wheel throwing her hands up in the air, scared because she didn't know what to do.

"Jesus please help us! Don't let us die, please! take the wheel and don't let us die. I can't do this!"

She hit the brakes and pulled to the shoulder and stopped the car. The temp dropped lower down to -29. She turned around looking in the back seat and her heart came to a stop. Her little girl was passed out sleeping like a rock. Seeing this she started to cry. And she bowed her head praying

"I'm sorry for the way, I've been living my life! I know I've got to change, from now on tonight, Jesus take the wheel! I can't do this on my own. I'm letting go, please give me one more chance, please save me from this road I'm on. Jesus Please!"

The rest of the ride was quiet till her car ran out of glass. Luckily an old friend found her on the side of the road. Not long after, he gave her a ride and they caught up after a while. He dropped her off and she invited him in, He came and joined them for a little while, till he said he had to get back, His parents wanted him home before midnight so he had to be fast. He asked her out to coffee, the following day. She smiled and said, "yes, I'll see you at 8." After he left she turned around and fell into her mother's arm. As her father wrapped his arms around them she burst into tears. She finally told them, everything she'd been trying to hide. From losing her house, husband, and job to nearly dying on the road. She looked up into her mama's eyes and all she had to say was, "Jesus saved You."

A year later, she thought back to everything that happened. She rocked her baby, who was now a little over one, in her arms while wearing a white dress. The music started and she walked with her father down the long red aisle. As they said "I do" all you could hear was the song they were playing as it came to a stop... "Jesus take the wheel, take it, take it from... Oh.. Why Oh."

"You may kiss the bride."

Okay, so this wasn't that good, its just something I had lying around for a while. Anyway, I hope you liked it. BTW I do not own Jesus takes the wheel. I only used it to write a story. I love writing stories based on lyrics. ;)
