Happy Valentine's Day-2nd Verse
Della was touching the ruby heart at her throat. Such a thoughtful gift. He always had such exquisite taste and he never forgot a birthday, holiday or special occasion.
She let out a long sigh, thinking she had better get back to work and stop daydreaming.
But even as she put the sheet of paper into her typewriter, her thoughts drifted away again. She rested her chin on her hand wondering just what other surprises he had in story for her.
Of course she had a little surprise for him when they got home. She had shopped carefully for the red satin teddy, the matching red high heels and the bow tie. She had planned his favorite dinner, the best champagne and a bottle of his favorite scotch.
"Miss Street will you come in here please."
Her thoughts shifted back into work mode. "Yes Sir."
Grabbing her pad and pencil, she entered his office, taking her usual chair.
He smiled at her when he noted the slight red mark on her chin.
"Daydreaming again Della?"
She returned his smile. "I guess so. I had the oddest…I guess you could say…vision a while ago."
Now his smile faded. "Do I need to worry?"
"No darling. Because the vision would never happen. Now, did you need to dictate a letter?"
"Yes. To Miss Della Street, the most beautiful woman in the world, from Mr. Perry Mason, the luckiest man in the world."
Della tried to hide her smile.
"As this is Valentine's Day I am ordering the office closed and proceed to celebrate our love for each other. Signed…"
Della laid her pad and pencil down and pushed his chair back so she could climb into his lap. Nuzzling his neck, she sighed as he tightened his arms around her.
"Signed the man I love with all my heart.
"Signed the man who loves you more than life itself."
Their kiss was the perfect way to start their Valentine's celebration.
