Here we are with Bolin's epic gamer date.

Kyoshi is their equivalent of Japan.

Bolin was anxiously waiting for Opal to log on after eating dinner. He had loaded his Minecraft world and was waiting in the teashop. His city was based on a fantasy world that he created when he was writing a story series. He was waiting at the teashop. The city was huge and had walls protecting it. Most designs were heavily inspired by ancient Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation architecture.

He opened Instagram and saw Iroh's post. He and Asami had taken a selfie together outside.

"They're too cute together," Bolin said as he wrote a comment.

A few minutes later, he was watching one of Opal's videos of her singing on his phone. Most of her YouTube videos are of her singing and playing instruments. Some of them were gaming videos though. Most of her gaming videos included Bolin. She either made song covers or original songs. She was a great songwriter and had many collaborations with other YouTubers.

The instrumental of the song was made with her friends using BandLab. Bolin loved hearing her sing. He found her voice physically attractive. Besides a bit of physical attraction, Bolin valued her friendship, so his crush on her that had been going on for years went deeper than just attraction. She was supportive and was helpful whenever Bolin felt any stress, anxiety, or sadness. He always felt happy around her. Although they had a lot of different hobbies, they still had a lot of common interests. They can bond over fiction and video games.

There were other things about Opal that Bolin found physically attractive besides her voice. She was shorter and thinner than Korra and Asami. She had bright green eyes and short black hair that barely reached past her shoulders. Her skin was darker than Bolin's, though not as dark as Korra's. He found her cute, which was his type. He knew the difference between a hot girl and a cute girl, and a cute girl was more likely to get him flustered and making him think about her throughout the day. Although Bolin was quite masculine, and most of the time he was composed, and sometimes acted tough, he sometimes got flustered whenever Opal sang.

Opal texted him saying that she was ready, so they did a voice call on Discord.

"Hey Opal," said Bolin.

"Hey, Bolin, how are you doing?" said Opal.

"Great. You?"

"I'm doing fine too."

Opal logged into the server.

"Wow this is a big city," she said.

"Yeah, I've added a lot since you last logged in here. I'll send my coordinates."

They met right outside the teashop. Bolin changed the game mode to survival after providing him and Opal food and potions.

"No tea in Minecraft, so potions will do," said Bolin.

"How's your internship going?" asked Opal.

"It's great," said Bolin. "I'm enjoying it. Plus, it's paid, and Mako's happy that our money isn't as tight as it used to be. I mean, I've got my YouTube money, but it's not too reliable right now."

They positioned their Minecraft characters so that they were sitting across from each other.

"My channel's doing great as well," said Opal. "I get a lot of people approaching me saying that they watch my videos. We've had to deal with that since high school."

"I'm getting recognized more here in Republic City," said Bolin. "Ever since I posted that vlog in my first year at university."

"Your editing skills have been improving so much with all the school vlogs you post."

"And you're really good with FN-pop dances."

"Yeah. I've also been watching more FN-dramas. I'm glad I took Fire Nation in high school. My Duolingo streak has been going strong for 6 years now."

"I've spent years on Duolingo and at school learning Kyoshi. It's probably because I've been obsessed with anime and Kyoshi warriors my whole life."

After catching up for a bit, Bolin was getting comfortable. He was about to shoot his shot. It was like he had been preparing for this for a long time. It was time to resolve the romantic tension.

"Opal, I need to tell you something," said Bolin, taking a deep breath, as if he was about to jump off a diving board."

"What is it?" Opal asked.

"We've been really good friends for a long time, and I realize that I like you," said Bolin.

Opal paused and Bolin held his breath.

"I've had a crush on you for a while now," he said with a bit of confidence.

Another pause. Bolin's heart was racing, and it felt like he was floating.

"I like you too," said Opal.

Bolin's heartbeat skyrocketed, but it was out of happiness. He moved his character in the game and kissed Opal's character.

"Nice," said Opal, laughing. "A kiss in a video game."

Bolin was screaming and celebrating in his mind. They then ate their food and drank their potions.

"Time to do a stream," said Bolin. "We should do a Minecraft survival let's play together."

"I'm up for some Valorant as well," said Opal.

"Our viewers are gonna cheer."

"Yeah. Whenever they teased us, I was happy, but also wishing it would come true, but now it kinda did. I guess we need to do long-distance for a while."

"I had to get it off my chest."

"How would Wing and Wei feel about this?"

"They figured out I had a crush on you back in junior year of high school. They were cool with it and kept teasing me about it when no one else was around. They both said that I was a great friend, and they were rooting for us to get together."

"I'll tell them about our date later."

Bolin started a stream.

"Hey guys, it's RockBaller," said Bolin.

"And it's Opal," said Opal.

"We are going to play Minecraft together and do a quest to beat the Ender Dragon."

Bolin greeted his viewers. Soon, his top viewer UltraInstinctGamer joined. After a few more viewers joined, he loaded the Minecraft world.

"So, I'm going to tell this to you guys," said Bolin. "Opal is my girlfriend now, well kind of."

The chat exploded.

Mr. Hoodman: Y'all kept saying you were just friends lol.

ValorantMarksman: I told you there was something between them, not just thousands of miles between republic city and Zaofu.

Bolin and Opal were both laughing. "Wow, you guys could see it. Well, we might go long distance for a while."

The viewers were congratulating them. They had calmed down by the time Bolin and Opal were punching trees.

When the first night was coming, they sheltered in a cave. Bolin and Opal put their beds next to each other.

"Yes, our beds are next to each other," said Bolin.

After 40 minutes, they called it a day.

"Now, we're going to play Valorant," said Bolin.

Bolin picked Sova and Opal picked Sage.

"We ship Sova and Sage hard," said Opal.

It was an unrated game. Bolin used his shock darts to hopefully hit an enemy. In the second round, he got injured, but Opal was there to heal him.

In the sixth round, the team was getting eliminated quickly. Bolin had killed two enemies before the rest of the team got eliminated. Scanning ahead, Bolin found one of the enemies and killed them with one headshot. That enemy was carrying the spike. Bolin camped and waited for the enemy to grab the spike. He was pacing around. With thirty seconds remaining, the enemy tried to move in, but Bolin killed them both. Having killed the whole team, Bolin aced that round, and the score was now 4-2.

"Nice ace!" Opal cheered.

ValorantMarksman: I bet you were playing well because you got your gf backing you up.

"I thought I would do worse around Opal," said Bolin. "No, it wasn't like I was trying to impress her."

Eventually, they won the game 13-7.

"Thirty-five kills! Let's go!" Bolin yelled.

"It took me a while, but I got eighteen," said Opal.

They were loading the next game. This time, it was ranked. Both Bolin and Opal were at the bronze rank.

"We ship Jett and Phoenix so that's who we're picking next," said Bolin.

They started the game as the attackers.

"I'm gonna flash, then we push," said Bolin.

Bolin was playing as Phoenix, and he looked for enemies that were blinded. Opal dashed to the site to plant the spike. The spike detonated and Bolin's team won the round.

Bolin was killed in the fifteenth round. "Jett, revive me!" he joked.

Their team didn't have Sage, but they won that round.

Eventually, they won the game. The score was 13-10.

"I got 21 RR," said Opal.

"Sweet. I got 25," said Bolin. "I think one more win, and then I can get to Silver 1."

"Let's do it," said Opal.

UltraInstinctGamer: Let's not make Opal jealous, ok?

This time, Bolin picked Chamber and Opal picked Neon.

"Chamber and Neon for the win!" said Opal.

It was the last round in the half, and Bolin and Opal's ultimate abilities were ready. Bolin used his sniper rifle to kill two opponents, while Opal used her lightning abilities to kill the other three.

They won 13-4 and Bolin was ecstatic when he ranked up.

"Okay guys, that's it for the girlfriend reveal," said Bolin. "I'll see you guys later."

Bolin turned off the stream. He was quite exhausted and sweaty, though he was filled with a wave of happiness.

"That was a good stream," said Opal. "I'm happy for everyone who shipped us forever."

"Yeah, those comments never got old, but the romantic tension is finally resolved," said Bolin.

"So, what are we?"

"I guess we have a long-distance relationship. I'm hoping that it's serious, and not just a fling driven by hormones and emotions."

"Well, good night."

"Good night."

Bolin was energetic. Getting up from his chair, he walked slowly, then did a little victory dance. He wanted a break from the screen, so he went to the living room and sat on the couch, thinking about what had just happened.

He opened Instagram to post some photos about how his date went. He sat for a few more minutes until he heard a text from Mako telling him that he was on his way home.

He then received texts from Wing and Wei, telling him that they were excited for his relationship. There was a bit of teasing, and both of the brothers jokingly threatened him about breaking Opal's heart. Bolin took it seriously, though. Hurting Opal was the last thing that he wanted to do.

When Mako arrived, Bolin greeted him. Once Mako got settled down, he sat on the couch. Bolin began to tell him about the date and the stream. Mako burst out laughing.

"Congrats," said Mako. "I'm so happy for you, bro."

The brothers hugged.

"Wing and Wei made some fake and funny threats," said Bolin. "Wing said he would shoot me in the head with an Operator, while Wei threatened to destroy my bed with TNT."

"Man, that's funny," said Mako.

The two men changed into their sleepwear, and both of them went to bed happy. Bolin was still energetic thinking about what happened. He tossed and turned in bed happily. It had been years of friendship, and he held that crush for years, and it was all worth it. He had confessed, and there was the possibility of a great relationship in the future.
