Chapter 55 Bermingsteel Gym Battle Part 2
Alice is the second one to battle, and she decides to choose a Full Restore by the battle to reduce money, a Soft Sand for Vibrava, and a Charti Berry.
Once she walks toward Elena, she is already there and she says, "Good to see you again, Alice. How did your shopping go?"
"Great, though I am not sure if I will be using those items..." Alice says with a sheepish smile.
"We can see about that. My first Pokemon is going to be this one, Excadrill!" Elena says as she sends out the Ground-type Pokemon. Alice takes a breath and goes for Centiskorch, and it holds a Charti Berry.
"I won't hesitate to tell you about the item I have for Excadrill. That is Smooth Rock." Elena says. "Use Sandstorm!"
Excadrill creates a sandstorm in the air, causing the vision from the crowd to blur. Ash says, "With the Smooth Rock, Sandstorm is going to be longer than usual...it will take up to 8 turns..."
"But I know for sure Alice has a plan." Serena says.
Alice thinks, "If I use Sunny Day right now, who knows when it will be going for Sandstorm again...I'll just wait and see."
"Now let's go for Rock Slide!" Elena yells, and Excadrill goes with the attack, Alice says, "Dodge it! I know you can."
Centiskorch tries to dodge the attack, but it gets hit by the super-effective attack. Fortunately, the Charti Berry manages to reduce the damage.
"Centiskorch! Fire Lash!" Alice yells, and Centiskorch manages to land a hit on the Excadrill, and the Pokemon tries to go underground for the Dig attack.
"Wait for it appears and goes for Burn Up!" Alice yells, and after Centiskorch takes the attack, it uses the move to make it lose Fire Type.
"Now Rock or Ground moves aren't going to be that effective against my Pokemon." Alice says.
"But it just gives me the power to use Steel Type move! Steel Beam!" Elena says, and Excadrill slams into the Centiskorch, creating a giant explosion. In the end, both of them faint.
"What is Steel Beam? And why has Excadrill also fainted?" Serena asks in confusion.
"The user fires a beam of steel that is collected from its entire body. This also damages the user." Ash says. "Excadrill faints because of the recoil damage."
"What are you planning?" Alice asks. "To sacrifice your own Pokemon like that..."
"You'll understand it, my second Pokemon is going to be Perrserker!" Elena sends out the Pokemon, and they notice there is a ribbon on the female Perrserker's head. Ash's Perrserker sees the Pokemon and his eyes become hearts. "I am in love..."
Ash sighs at the Pokemon and he says, "It is a good thing I didn't battle that."
Alice decides to go with Litwick, as she knows that Perrserker mostly has Normal Type moves.
Perrserker uses Night Slash first, giving a lot of damage to Litwick. Litwick uses Will-o-Wisp, but Perrserker dodges it and then use Iron Head.
Alice says, "I'm going to use my second item. I'm using Full Restore! I'm going to use it to restore Litwick!"
The referee says, "We will be stopped for 10 seconds for the opponent's item to be used. Gym Leader, are you going to use your item?"
Elena says, "I've been waiting for this moment. I'm going to use my item: Revive. I'm reviving my Excadrill!"
Alice widens her eyes in shock, but she shakes her head and heals the Litwick.
Serena says, "Revive? What is that item?"
"It is an item that restores a fainted Pokemon to the half of the health." Ash says. "In this gym battle, we may be able to use it, but in other competitions, it is a cheating item."
"I see. I can see why." Gloria says.
Fortunately for her, the Sandstorm stops and Alice decides to deliver the final blow by having it use Flamethrower. After Elena's Perrserker faints, Ash's Perrserker is now crying, "No! How can she lost..."
Pikachu is sweating as he comforts the cat. Then Elena sends back Excadrill and has it go for Sandstorm. Alice says, "Don't worry, it is just half of the health. Curse!"
Litwick cuts its HP and places a curse on Excadrill, and Elena says, "I don't know what you're planning, but Excadrill, use Drill Run!"
"Wait until it gets closer, and then use Pain Split!" Alice says.
Elena widens her eyes as she sees Excadrill slams into the Litwick, causing it to faint, but with the Pain Split and Curse, Excadrill also faints in the end.
"Another draw!" Trenor says. "That was a smart move."
"I agree." Ash nods.
"My final Pokemon is going to be this one." Elena says. "Show them your might! Duraludon!"
As the Steel and Dragon type Pokemon appear on the field, Alice says, "I'll go with Vibrava!"
Both Dragon type Pokemon are roaring with each other in the field, and Elena says, "Duraludon. It's Dynamaxing time! Show her the powerful might you hold!"
As Elena Dynamax her Duraludon, Alice is doing the same by Dynamaxing Vibrava. Gloria is confused and she says, "I thought it would be a Gigantamax...my brother used it in his gyms..."
"You mean Duraludon has a Gigantamax as well?" Dawn asks.
Mark says, "That's right...but some gym leaders won't be using Gigantamax but Dynamax instead. I guess she is one of them."
"I can tell, just like Shelia's Orbeetle." Ash says.
Duraludon goes with the Max Steelspike, raising the Defense, and Vibrava knocks back with Max Quake, which is much more powerful because of the Soft Sand.
"Raising your Special Defense, I see." Elena says. "Max Wyrmwind!"
The Dragon move is dealing a lot of damage to Vibrava, and Alice says, "That must be a Physical Dragon move...I have to be careful..."
She also does the same thing, but because of the Steel Type, it is just normally effective. In the end, Alice defeats Duraludon with Vibrava's Max Quake.
"Your Pokemon and your bond are amazing." Elena recalls her Pokemon and says, "I'm glad you have shown me your full strength."
They shake hands and then Elena gives her the badge. Elena asks, "I guess Ash is the last one? Tell him to be prepared because I have a surprise for him."
Alice nods in confusion, and then she goes back to Ash and the others and tells him the news. Ash is also confused, but he is also excited to see what Elena prepares for him.
Ash also purchases the four items swiftly, and his battling skills really help him a lot to get discounts. Once he is at the field, Elena says, "Well, I have been waiting for you, Ash. After hearing you defeat the first 11 gyms, I have been waiting for this moment."
Ash says, "Really?"
"Yeah, I want to test out how strong you really are, I even have my secret weapon ready." Elena says.
"Oh, Alice did mention that to me, I will like to see your secret weapon, but now let's begin our battle." Ash says.
Elena's first Pokemon is Ferrothorn, Ash sends out his Turtonator to battle. Ferrothorn has the Focus Sash, while Turtonator is given the X Special Defense.
"I see, you have been well prepared." Elena says as she calls for the Power Whip, but the Shell Trap manages to deal some damage, and Ferrothorn has the ability Iron Barbs, it also hurts Turtonator a lot. After a series of battle, Ash says, "Time to finish this, Flamethrower!"
But much to his surprise, Ferrothorn is still moving, Elena says, "I have a Focus Sash, after all."
Ash sighs as Ferrothorn delivers the final attack with Gyro Ball, causing both Pokemon to faint in the end. So Elena sends out Klinklang while Ash sends out Runerigus. Runerigus has the Life Orb and Klinklang has the Air Balloon.
"Air Balloon, that won't stop me." Ash says, "Use Shadow Ball! Aim at the balloon!"
As the Balloon pops, Elena says, "Very clever, you found my balloon. But don't think that it will let me hit by Ground moves. Use Magnet Rise!"
As Klinklang rises into the air, Ash groans, "Damn it... The Air Balloon is just a decoy..." Then he uses Brutal Swing, and Klinklang dodges all the time.
"By seeing that your Pokemon's health is lowering, I see that you use Life Orb."
"Yeah, it can also boost the attack. Runerigus, use Shadow Claw!" And the attack finally hits Klinklang. Klinklang uses Gear Grind and it then eventually defeats the Pokemon, but Klinklang is defeated by the Destiny Bond.
"This is really surprising. Two draws in a battle." Elena says.
"Yeah. But it should be more." Ash sighs as both send out Lucario and Koyuki. Ash's Lucario is surprised since both Lucario already have feelings and they didn't want to battle against each other.
Ash says, "Lucario, don't worry, it is just a gym battle, treat it like a training."
Elena says, "You too, Koyuki."
The two Lucario nods as they battle together, they are giving all out with their aura powers, and in the end, they both are knocked out at the same time. Ash and Elena is speechless.
"They have really become a couple...don't you think?" Ash asks.
"Yeah." Elena says. "Their movements, their holding items are also Black Belt, their time to faint are the same...I wonder that something is playing pranks on us."
After recalling their Pokemon, Elena says, "Now time to show my final Pokemon, in fact, it is a Pokemon that most people haven't seen it before until Professor Oak shows it. Melmetal!"
As the Pokemon appears, Ash widens his eyes. "You have a Melmetal as well?"
At the stands, Lillie widens her eyes in surprise, she says, "How did she have that? I thought Ash was the only one who has Melmetal...and the other Meltans are at the Aether Foundation..."
Dawn asks, "You know that Pokemon?"

As the move hits Charizard, much to Ash's surprise, he can't use Wildfire. "The side effect is that you can use the same move twice each turn." Elena says.
"That won't stop me. Max Knuckle!" Elena gasps as she didn't know that Charizard can use Fighting Type move, Ash says, "My Charizard can use Seismic Toss."
"I see." Elena says. After exchanging attacks, they are both back to normal size, but they both use Full Restore this time as the battle continues. In the end, Charizard still wins after the Overheat.
"You know, after the battle, I feel like I have grown a lot." Elena says after she loses. "Thank you for this wonderful battle."
"No problem, thank you as well." Ash says as Elena gives him the Steel Badge. Then Elena says, "Good luck on your challenge, you have 6 more to go."
Here is a new chapter, and Elena's secret weapon is Melmetal! Now all three of them have their 12 badges, it is time to get to the next location: Steamdrift Town for the Rock-type Gym. If you want to ask about it, Circhester will be an Ice Type Gym.
