Ethan shudders as he felt his throat clench. He forced himself to breath through his nose and felt his muscles relax. Eventually he felt calm enough to continue and arrived at the cliff overseeing the Emerald forest. where Ruby and Yang arrived after. He gave them and acknowledging wave and waited.
"Psst! Psst! Hey." Cupa whispers. Ethan looks over to see her waving. He in response gave an awkward wave back. "Are you excited too? I'm so pumped I might just explode!" She giddily says.
"Hmm." Ethan says. Ruby say this and growled under her breath. But she had to let her feelings be put on the back burner as her platform was ready to launch her. She felt I go off and flew off into the air. Unfurling crescent rose and front flipping twice in a row before Firing twice below her. Lengthening her descent. And eventually disappearing into the tree line.
Ethan meanwhile was spreading his arms out to let his Blackburn form a pair of wings on his arms. Thus allowing him to glide in the air. Once he descended far enough he dispells his wings and drops into a tree. Immediately slowed by his Blackburn forming strings from his hands to slow his fall. He released the strings and let them fade away as he immediately began heading for the ruins.
"LOOK OUT BELOOOOOW!" Cupa yells in fright. Ethan looks up to get toppled over by a falling girl. "Ow." Ethan grunts. "Sorry. I overshot my calculations." Cupa apologizes. "Is'kay." Ethan says.
He offers his hand and helps her up. "Guess we're partners huh?" Cupa asks. "Suppose so." Ethan says. He looks up and grabs one of his Blackthorn knives. He fires the blade into a tree and reels it up bringing him up to the tree line. He hangs on a branch and Looked for the ruins. Eventually finding his sister Yang and the faunus girl gather at the ruins.
He used Blackthorn to lower himself down and drop by Cupa. Reclaiming his blade. "That way." Ethan instructs. "Is that where the ruins are?" Cupa asks. "Yes." Ethan says heading there himself. Cupa following.
"So what kind of dust were you using? I've never seen black dust like that." Cupa asks. Ethan shook his head. "Not Dust. Is Power. Blackburn." Ethan states. he grabs his journal and opens to a page to give to Cupa.
Blackburn. Through trial and Error have discovered uses and what it isn't. Is not a semblance. Semblance is Seperate and undiscovered. Blackburn is a pool of energy within me that I can manipulate into types of energy, fuels, and reactions. Other resources are needed to form the energy into viable tools. Aura can let me have an even finer control but is very exhausting.
"Oh. So its not a semblance. Is this Blackburn what was used to make that Black Hard Light wire then?" Cupa asks. "Yes." Ethan says taking back his journal. "That's so cool! I mean its probably not as cool as my semblance but whatever." Cupa brags. "Hmm?" Ethan grunts. "Well if you must insist on knowing. I can literally blow up. Like explosions and everything. Every strike I give will blow up and every time I get hit I blow up albeit its smaller and less powerful. Its the reason I have my gauntlets." Cupa says. Over her hands a pair of gauntlets fold out. Shaped like a hammer head and then shift into two cannon barrels. "Being able to control my explosions lets me pack a serious punch as well. And with some wind dust I can make my explosions long range." She says as she aims the weapon around.
"Blackburn is cooler." Ethan immediately says. "You shush your facehole!" Cupa shouts. Much to Ethan's amusement. "Nah."
"Ugh, can't believe I have to partner up with you of all people." Reina mutters. "Why are you mad? You should be grateful to be partners with me! I'm The Darrick Topaz! Next in line for the Topaz Dust Weapon's company!" Darrick says. "Yeah. The same company responsible for killing my village for not selling our home to you." Reina growls. "Don't compare me to my grandfather. He was a horrible man and i'm glad he's dead." Darrick says kicking a rock.
"Well at least we can agree on something then." Reina mutters as a glowing yellow eye opens behind them. The eye belonged to a creature that immediately rose up. Darrick and Reina turn around to see the creature is a chimera of a King Taijutu and an Alpha Beowolf. Its legs were longer and more slithery. Its neck was elongated and its tail was even longer. Fur was covering its scales and was even longer than a regular beowolf's fur. Its snout had two venom dripping fangs and its bone mask had three eyes. The bone spikes grew out of its back and neck and tail. It hissed as it raised its hind quarters ready to jump.
"Shit. Run!" Reina yells as she activated her semblance. She teleports away and immediately drew her sniper rifle out. she fire and the King Beojutu was already quick enough to dodge. Darrick didn't run though. He drew his own weapons. A pair of hammers that he immediately use to smack the King Beojutu's face with. It staggered as the hammers used Hard light dust projecter to form two sword blades. He used those swords to slash and hack at the Grimm while Reina fired away. Before he stabs the blades and dislocates them from his hammers as they mechashift into two Uzi's that he used to fire at the grim with.
Reina flicks a switch and pulls out a Katana from her sniper rifle's stock. Teleporting above the King Beojutu to spin horizontally and slash deeply into the Grimm's neck. Only to hear her blade clash against the bone spines with a metallic clank. And then her sword snapping. "Shit!" Reina says as she teleports away from the Grimm biting her. She reappeared besides Darrick and they began to run off. Firing potshots at the chasing Grimm.
Reina ejects the blade in the handle and places it back in her weapon to turn the sniper rifle into a assault rifle. Firing away at the King Beojutu.
Meanwhile Ethan and Cupa were waiting at the ruins. Ethan pulled out a candy bar and offered it. "Want?" He asks. "Sure!" She smiles.
Reina teleports back above the Grimm and fires away before mechashifting her rifle into a machete. She lands on the grim and slashes into the Grimm's spine before ripping her weapon out to teleport away. Darrick slammed his hammers into the Beojutu's leg and trips it allowing them to run off. When the Grimm recovers it roars as it chases them.
Darrick Holsters his weapons to grab two grenades. He pulls the pins out with his teeth and dropped them begins him and Reina. Two orange glittery explosions soon follow as they set themselves by the running grimm. Blinding the beast.
Ethan noticed Cupa jump in shock. Albeit be a very small jump. "You okay?" Ethan asks. "Yeah. Its just someone set off explosions west of us. I think someone is coming." Cupa says pointing out.
Ethan drew his sword and stabs it into the ground to twist his engine handle to Blackthorn. Black flames came out of the exhaust and the blade as he pulls it out and ran towards the explosion's last location. Cupa followed behind and watched in astonishment as Ethan chopped down the trees in front of him to carve a path. But even more shock as they shrunk into small items he collected?
Ethan didn't say a word as he immediately leaped, his sword turning into a scythe as he spun in a wheel of black flames that headed straight for the King Beojutu. Decapitating the Grimm. "Fade." He commands and the Grimm corpse fades away. Leaving just its bones like any other Grimm.
"Woah." Cupa gasps as she saw Ethan put his sword on his back. "Let's go." Ethan says as he grabs the King Beojutu's skull and pries it off the spinal cord. "Keep." He says.
"And next we have Ethan Sanchez, Cupa Mossy, Reina Schuller, And Darrick Topaz. Together you all collect to white king pieces. And shall be known as Team EMRD (Emerald)." Ozpin announces. The students watching gave their applause. Darrick smirked as he was confident he'll be the leader. Reina clapped along and gave an annoyed glance at her partner. Cupa cheers, Little pops of explosions coming off her hands, teeth and hair. Ethan just hummed.
"And leading the team will be Ethan Sanchez." Ozpin says. "HUH!?" Ethan asks. "What!?" Darrick asks. "Yay!" Cupa says. "Eh, Better than this guy." Reina says while jabbing her thumb at her partner.
"Congratulations bro!" Ruby says as she tackle hugs him in celebration. Cupa joined in. "Hugs for everyone!" Cupa says. "Release." Ethan grunts.
"Oh, Hey your That girl's sister right?" Reina asks Yang. "Huh? Yeah I am. Why?" She asks. "Cool. Now is it me or do you see a four legged green creature with no arms behind Cupa and a silver winged wolf made of rose petals and thorns with silver eyes behind Ruby too? Or am I just crazy?" Reina asks.
Yang looks over and immediately saw what Reina described. "Oh, Ara?" Yang grins. Reina smirked. "Ara?" She asks. "Ara ara." Yang responds as they watch Ethan be fiercely hugged by two girls. Two beasts ready to fight each other behind them.
"What are you two doing?" Weiss asks.
