I was somewhat scared, before, Rex was just lashing out, now though, he was someone who would separate my head from my body by any means necessary.

I took him in, he had armor, he was clearly better trained then before, and the most obvious part, he was a driver now. His spear was blue, two prongs with a orb in the middle, clearly a water blade then. The unique design of the spear told me that he had a rare blade.

"You should have stayed dead." He said, staring directly at me. As if on queue, his blade dropped from the trees, a girl in blue with an eyepatch covering her right eye.

"I don't want to fight you Rex, you don't have to do this. I'm sorry about -"

"You killed him, you and Torna. You will all pay."

He swung his spear like a battle axe towards my side.

Pyra came to my aid with her shield, before I struck at him with my sword.

He moved fast countering my blow and attempting to skewer me like a fish.

Unsure of how to block I dodged to the left but he anticipated it, swinging the spear and slamming me into a tree with a loud crash.

"Ryse, are you ok?" I didn't have time for a response as he showed off his first art.

"Vengeful Spirit!" He spun his spear around him, causing foam filled bubbles to appear around him, tranfiguring into haunting skulls before launching themselves at me. I couldn't move, screams filled my ears as I felt my skin seem to burn from the mere touch of them. Acid, I realized, his anger was enough to turn water to acid. His blade laughed like a maniac.

I pushed myself up, just in time to roll out of the way of a strike that would have cracked him skull in two. I used Disorder Ignition before following up with an Ankle Breaker to topple him.

I threw my sword to Pyra, letting her summon fire underneath Rex to burn him. He hissed in pain as the surrounding area smouldered, looking less like a forest and more like burning pit.

As we clashed onwards, blade on spear, I asked him "Why are you doing this, you know this isn't what he would have wanted!" That clearly struck a nerve as he attacked with a renewed frenzy. "How could you know what he would have wanted! You got him killed. Merciless Sweep!" He spun his spear all around him, I blocked the attack, but my body rang with a resounding crash. I didn't understand how he could output so much raw strength.

"Pyra!"

"Got it." She responded as I released three burning slashes that forced Rex onto the defensive, I went in for a follow up attack, but was blocked by his blade

"Nuh, uh, you think your getting to my driver, guess again."

"Traitor's Demise!"

Chains of water wrapped around me, acid, not water I realized, although I was barely able to think over the blinding pain inflicted. I screamed, I couldn't stop, it hurt so badly like someone was burning and electrifying me at the same time. I could just about make out Rex raising his spear above my head, savoring my last moments. Before a blast of white hot fire sent him and his blade flying backwards, breaking the chains on me. Pyra launched fireball after fireball after fireball at them. Each one containing enough force to shake the ground. "No more, he doesn't deserve this, you can't put your anger on Ryse."

"Why do you still stand with that murderer!"

She doesn't deign him with response other than one last blast of flames leaving him out for the count. His blade glared at us "He'll be back, just you wait." And she ppicked him up and jumped away.

"Ryse, are you ok?" She asked me.

"What's your definition of ok." I grunted out

"If it's feeling like I just got burned, electricuted, and buzzsawed all over, then I'm ok."

Judging by Pyra's face, that wasn't her definition of ok

And, typically, I blacked out.
