It was not long before Lincoln fully adjusted to his new surroundings. He had already spent two nights at Lyra's house before the day he was officially adopted and had moved all of his furniture and belongings into her guest room. Lyra had the previous guest room bed donated to the Royal Woods Child Care for Mental Health, so it was basically a bed swap. The once guest room was larger than Lincoln's old room, obviously because it wasn't once a closet, so Lily's baby crib was also placed in the room, allowing the brother and baby sister to share it together. If anything, Lincoln was glad to have Lily be able to grow up alongside him, though he occasionally felt terrible that depending on how long Rita, his biological mother, spent in prison, Lily would grow up believing that Lyra was her mom instead. Lisa was confident, though, that should Lily and Rita reunite, it would be the right trigger for Lily to remember her memories of infancy and thus remember Rita as her actual birth mother, but hopefully, it wouldn't come into conflict with living under Lyra and Lincoln's care. Yes, all of Lincoln's other sisters continued to stay in contact with him.

Luna was the easiest to pay visits to and it worked out splendidly owing to that Lincoln and Max were great friends and so were Lyra and Lina. Luna and Lina did get along, despite that Lina insisted she wasn't nearly as loud and uproarious as Luna. Nevertheless, Lina agreed to help her and her new friend Sam form a band, so she endorsed them. The result was a band of three under the name "Lady Loud". This meant that Sam quit working for Mazzy and Sully, leaving them to find another guitarist and vocalist for their band, the Moon Goats, though some suspected it might disband. Lady Loud got started as a little known start-up band, but Lincoln, Lyra, and Max's family remained hopeful and believed more progress would be made in time.

"As a wise man once told me," said Lincoln. "'Never abandon hope'!"

And in time, Luna wasn't the only sister to get back on her feet. The other Loud sisters, inspired by Lincoln turning his life around, resolved to do the same with their own lives. Lori ended up getting accepted into Fairway University despite fearing that it wouldn't happen, so she vowed to work hard and finish high school in order to take on the college of her dream. Leni continued to work part-time at Reininger's under the guidance of Ms. Carmichael, still living under her roof as well, and occasionally played with the manager's young son. One time, she put together a brand-new Ace Savvy costume for Lincoln, surprising him when she brought it over during a visit. Luan ended up going steady with Benny and so did Luna and Sam, despite that the latter couple lived in different towns, but not too far away. Luan also gradually began to return to doing comedy with Benny's help, though it was likely that Funny Business Inc. would remain inactive if parents still refused to let Luan entertain their kids. Instead, Luan turned to working her way up to professional stand-up comedy. Lucy and her bat, Fangs, continued to live with Haiku and her family and although Lucy was still no longer part of the Morticians Club, she and Haiku still stuck together as best friends. Also, Lucy found herself able to write most poetry entirely on her own, likely owing to all the events from at least the past two months being somewhat of an inspiration. Lola and Lana had been adopted by the same family, and if anyone could believe it, Lola started dressing more casually rather than wearing her princess-like attire all the time. She saved her gowns and such only for participating in pageants. Lana stayed her usual dirty self, though she had to keep cleaning her skin with a shower or bath at the end of each day. One can imagine she was always reluctant, so it took convincing and persuasion from Lola to cooperate. Lana was also called upon to assist in giving Vanzilla a makeover and convert it into a police vehicle, which could be considered community service as she had been too young to be prosecuted at court. She thought the vehicle could be rechristened as 'Copzilla', but it was unknown if anybody else actually went with that. Lisa put away her science things temporarily to focus properly on her education, having her first friend Darcy and Ms. Shrinivas to help guide her through kindergarten as close to being a regular student as possible, but she was still very intelligent for her age. Inspired by Lincoln, Lisa thought to use her brains to help other students around her and also to get herself through grade school, the long way of twelve more years after kindergarten if necessary. Though, she couldn't wait to take science classes once she would advance far enough.

As for Lynn Jr., she did decide that she would return to sports if she would ever be allowed to do so, but decided to focus on one in an effort to achieve peace of mind and proper sportsmanship in addition to toning down her competitive and aggressive behaviors.

"I'm going to be a tennis player," she told the other sisters. And even though she wasn't on any teams, she would occasionally be spotted practicing at empty courts. At first, no one wanted to play with her, owing to her reputation, but Lynn Jr. kept on practicing by herself until one day, one other person finally decided to play for fun. And gradually, other people joined in and Lynn Jr. finally made some new friends by playing tennis. Thank you, Lincoln, Lynn Jr. thought to herself. I couldn't have done this without you. She even paid Lincoln and Lyra a visit and both of them welcomed her with open arms.

It was easy enough for Lincoln to put the pieces of his life back together first, owing to Lyra's love and care for him. It was Lyra's first time in her life raising a family, looking after Lincoln, his baby sister Lily, and his dog Charles. Lincoln of course was there to help, having experience looking after Lily and Charles. With each passing day, they spent many hours both at home and having family outings and funny moments.

- They took neighborhood walks together, Lyra and Lincoln side by side, Charles on a leash, and Lily in her baby stroller with the pink seat.
- They had picnics at different park areas, including returning to Ketcham Park in Royal Woods, so that Lily could play.
- They went to the Dairyland Amoosement Park, Aloha Beach, and even Grand Venture State Park, at which they saw a geyser erupting, just like the last time he was there.
- Even at Lyra's house, Lily still ran around naked. It was a little funny for Lyra, but Lincoln had to stifle a laugh, having warned Lyra ahead of time.

"Oh, for..." Lyra giggled. "Lily, would you please let me put on a diaper?"

"Poo poo!" said Lily, feigning innocence. Lincoln was trying not to crack up, being all but used to Lily's little habit.

"I did warn you, Mom," he chuckled. "Seriously, though," he then said to the viewers. "I'm still trying to get used to calling Lyra my mom. It hasn't been that long... yet."

- While Lincoln and Lyra were changing Lily's diaper, Lily broke wind in Lincoln's face, causing him to fall to the floor in a dead faint.

"Are you alright, Lincoln?" Lyra asked. "That must have smelled awful!"

"Nothing I'm not used to," Lincoln groaned, as Lyra helped him to his feet.

"Poo poo," said Lily.

- The mother and son also cooperated on doing the occasional household chores and more often than not were able to keep the house nice and tidy.
- Lincoln still got his fair share of privacy in his own room, so he got to read his comics in his undies plenty of times. And sometimes it wasn't entirely private, as he and Lily shared a room.
- And once in a while, Lincoln and Lyra played video games together. And one time...

"Aaaaaaagh!" screamed Lincoln, having apparently lost to his own mom at a game. "How in the... whaaaaaa?!"

"I was young once too, you know," said Lyra. Lincoln hung his head in comedic fashion, making her laugh.

- Dinner was usually just the four of them. Lily sat in a booster seat having help from both Lincoln and Lyra to eat her baby food while Charles ate a bowl of dog food. Dinner get-togethers usually included Max and his family as well as Luna.
- And of course, at nighttime, Lyra would tuck both Lily and Lincoln into bed, Lily in her crib and Lincoln in his own bed. Charles usually slept in Lincoln's room.

"I feel I'm gonna outgrow being tucked in one of these days," said Lincoln.

"Maybe, maybe so," said Lyra. "But there's one thing I know you'll never outgrow."

"What's that?" asked Lincoln.

"A mother's love," replied Lyra. "You and Lily both." Lincoln blushed and then sighed.

"I miss her," he said and Lyra knew he meant his real mom, Rita. Lincoln hugged Bun-Bun, tears in his eyes for a second. Lyra lifted his chin with her gentle hand, smiled warmly, and kissed his forehead. Most days, Lincoln couldn't even stomach his real mother in prison while he and Lyra spent loads of quality time together, but Lyra continued to be there for him. And owing to her professional qualifications, she could actually help Lincoln deal with any mental health issues he might still be struggling with.

"Good night, Lincoln," said Lyra.

"Good night, Mom," said Lincoln. He and Lyra found their own loving family in each other through the bonds they would continue to share. His framed photo of his old family, the Louds, was propped upright on his bedside table.

EPILOGUE

Luna, Lina, and Sam are in a soundproofed recording room and begin to record playing a song to be the debut of Lady Loud. They jam on their guitars and perform vocals.

Luna:
Rock and roll is running through my veins (hey, hey)
Electric soul like wires to my brain (hey, hey)

Sam:
I can't be wrong, don't need direction
I can find my way

Luna:
Play it loud! Play it loud!
I got no time for turning it down

Lina:
Play it loud! Play it proud!
I live it, I breathe it
Don't tell me I don't need it now

Luna, Sam, & Lina:
Play it loud!
Sorry I'm not sorry for being proud
Play it loud!
Turn it up until your speakers blow out

Lina:
First things first, I ain't no second place
Rules are meant for bending till they break
Right or wrong with no exceptions

Luna:
Rocking out my way
Play it loud! Play it loud!

I got no time for turning it down

Sam:
Play it loud! Play it proud!
I live it, I breathe it

Luna & Sam:
Don't tell me I don't need it now

Luna, Sam, & Lina:
Play it loud!
Sorry I'm not sorry for being proud
Play it loud!
Turn it up until your speakers blow out
Until your speakers blow out
Until your speakers blow out
Until your speakers blow out
