To say Brett was freaking out, would probably be an understatement. He hadn't seen the boy since last night and it wasn't like Nolan to miss school and not tell him. Usually if Nolan needed a day he would tell Brett first. Brett rushed through the hallway at lunch he finally found most of the puppy pack standing in the hallway.
"Hey have you guys seen Nolan?" Brett asked trying to read their facial expressions.
"He wasn't in English this morning?" It was Corey who spoke first trying to think back to the morning.
"He wasn't in science either" Liam said giving Brett a worried look.
"So no one's seen him this morning?" Brett could feel himself starting panic from not knowing where his mate was. He could feel his wolf wanting to break out and go find the boy and kill anyone who tries to hurt him. Brett knew that wasn't an option and if he did manage to find the boy, wolfing out at anyone who goes near him probably wouldn't help much.
"Me and Theo will check the lookout, Mason Corey you guys check the park, Alec and Lori you guys stay here in case he shows up. And Brett go check his house he might still be there," Liam starts giving everyone their roles as an alpha does, even though he's technically not an alpha.
Brett got in his car as fast as he could, driving definitely over the limit to try to get to Nolan's house as fast as possible. Brett shut his car off when he was in the driveway, no other cars meaning Nolan's mom wasn't home, which didn't surprise him the women was never there. He listened carefully trying to hear anything he could from inside. He could heard one heart beat slow and steady but not alarming. Brett dug out the spare key he had seen Nolan take out a few times. He slowly unlocked the door and went in.
The house was quiet if Brett didn't have werewolf hearing he's sure he would've just left. He slowly made his way upstairs towards Nolan's bedroom. He could hear his heart beat through the door. Brett carefully cracked open the door ready in case someone was trying to trap him. When he realized no one was coming for him he stepped inside, his eyes landed on the pile of blankets in the bed, they seemed to be trembling. He sat on the side of the bed looking at Nolan, he could see the other boy was shivering but sweating. He raised a hand to his forehead feeling the heat radiating off of him.
"Jesus babe," Brett muttered under his breath. He saw Nolan's eyes slowly open and look towards him. Glassy eyes starting at him.
"Is it time for school?" Nolan croaked out trying to glance at the clock.
"We're a little past that I think, you go back to sleep I'm gonna make you some food and get you some meds, see if we can't bring down that fever," Brett says tucking Nolan back into bed. The boy was asleep before Brett even made it to the door.
Brett quickly made some soup and found some fever reducers to try to bring down Nolan's fever.
Brett gently played with the boys hair trying to wake him up as gentle as possible.
"Sweetheart, can you wake up for me?" Brett saw the boy come back to land of the living. His face pale making the freckles Brett loved so much stand out even more.
"I brought you soup and medicine," Brett helped the boy to a sitting position and slowly started to feed him.
"What time is it?" Nolan's voice trembling.
"About two pm" Brett said watching his boyfriends eyes go wide. "It's okay, your okay, baby your sick you can't go to school, Corey is getting all of your homework it's okay," Brett just held the shaking boy who was on the verge of an anxiety attack. Nolan clung to the taller boy.
"How about we watch a Disney movie?" Brett suggested knowing that a Disney movie will always calm Nolan down. Nolan just nods his head not saying anything. He hates missing school, he feels like it's just another flaw.
The two boys spend the rest of the day cuddling and relaxing. Nolan getting as much rest as he could, he didn't want to miss anymore school.
