As Batman and Eda were making their way to Kings "real castle", Luz and the others were exploring the ruins of raid structure as Luz activated a light glyph, allowing her and the others to see what was inside.
"Ah, the chamber where I would devour the hearts of my foes. The taste was cold and better, but I bet yours would be sweet, Luz."said King, referring to his friends sweet and kind heart.
"With all the sugar I eat, it better be."said Luz with a wink.
Luz, King, Lilith, and Hooty then began to venture deeper into the structure, looking around before Luz noticed a shadow move past King, causing her to turn around, but when she did there was nothing there.
"Can't believe your eyes, huh? My Castle does have that effect."said King, distracting Luz from searching for that mysterious shadow.
"Yeah... so much wonder."said Luz, as something in the back of her mind was telling her that something was very wrong with this castle.
"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?"said Hooty, as he motioned for Lilith to look over at a nearby intricate stone painting.
When Lilith walked over she noticed a carving of a large creature that looked a lot like King.
"These carvings, they're ancient."said Lilith with a surprised tone in her voice.
"What does that mean?"asked Hooty.
"Well, if I've never heard about this ruin, let alone this entire Island, who knows what other parts of History us scholars have missed."said Lilith, as the island they were standing on was proof that there was much history missing.
"Are you saying..."
"That he may actually have been..."
"The King of Demons!"said Hooty and Lilith at the same time!
"Ah, yes, bask in my infinite glory."said King, as he was glad that they were finally starting to believe him.
Luz smile before she noticed that some kind of shadow wandered into a nearby chamber. Curious, Luz wandered into said chamber to see a bunch of golems with strangely boomerang shaped heads.
But before she could inspect further, she felt a large presence behind her and immediately got out of the way as a huge reptilian hand slammed itself onto the concrete, shattering it into teeny tiny pieces up on!
"Wahhh!"exclaimed Luz, before noticing that standing in front of her was Killer Croc.
"Why do you smell so much like him?!"asked Killer Croc as Luz immediately started running away towards her friends.
"And that's how I wouldn't annihilate my enemies. Who needs due process, am I right?"said King, who was too focused on retelling his stories about his glory to notice that Luz was gone.
"What does this image represent, my Lord?"asked Lilith, noticing a painting of some kind of creature that look like King facing some kind of skeletal monster.
"It's hard to remember. But that handsome devil looks familiar, huh?"said King, admiring the painting he thought represented himself.
"Tour's over. We got to go, now."said Luz, as she ran over to her friends.
"But there's so much to learn."argued Lilith.
"This environment is not conductive to learning. Especially with a giant monster close behind."said Luz, referring to Killer Croc.
"Ah, you saw the horrifying monstrosity room. Don't worry, they can't hurt you."said King, before he and the others heard some noise coming from the ceiling.
Lilith shined her light to reveal that one of the golem like creatures with a boomerang shaped head was moving out and about, and it did not look happy to see them.
"That one can. Let's go!"said Luz as she picked up King and tried to run towards the exit, only to get intercepted by Killer Croc.
"Not so fast!"said Croc as he tried to attack Luz, only to get head-butted by Hooty!
"Luz, what is that?"asked Lilith, as she didn't know what was in front of her.
"Waylon Jones AKA Killer Croc. He's a meta human criminal from my world who has all the attributes of a crocodile, including the desire for me!"said Luz, before the golem like creature appeared before her and tried attacking her as well.
Lilith immediately intercepted by throwing several spikes of ice at the golem, putting it into a nearby walk formation as Killer Croc punched Hooty away! Lilith then threw a plant cliff, trapping Killer Croc in a bunch of vines!
"Dang girl, you been practicing."said Luz as they started heading towards the exit.
"You May admire my progress when we get out of here alive."said Lilith, as she and the others immediately started running to the exit as fast as they could to get away from the golem monster and Killer Croc.
The golem monster on the other hand easily escaped from the eyes as Killer Croc started tearing apart the vines to escape. Luz's group meanwhile was heading towards the exit before the golem stood in their way. He immediately formed an ax and was about to strike them when someone kicked him from behind and knocked them away.
"Boom, boom, suckers!"said Judomaster, revealing himself.
"Oh, you have got to be kidding me!"said Luz, as they already had this golem monster and Killer Croc to deal with.
"And who's he?"asked King, chuckling a little to himself as Judomaster was quite small.
"Judomaster... and don't let his height fool you for a second."said Luz as Judomaster ran towards them.
Hooty tried to intercept, but Judomaster jumped out of the way and struck him with an elbow blow before double kicking Lilith away. King try to attack as well but he was backhand punched by Judomaster!
"So you're the human other than us who is stuck here!"said Judomaster as he began walking towards Luz.
"Stay back! I'm ready to unleash the heart of the tiger on you!"said Luz as she pulled out several glyphs, only for Judomaster to smack them out of her hand!
"Did you think a weak human like you could take on me who's had experience!"said Judomaster, before he was knocked away by the golem like creature.
"No, but I know how to lead a villain into a trap."said Luz as she turned around and was about to be struck by the golem like creature before it was attacked with a potion bomb.
Luz looked inside was Eda and her father who come to the rescue.
"Get out of here! Me and DK will hold off these guys so you can escape."said Eda and she started throwing potion bomb after potion bomb at the golem like creature.
Judomaster meanwhile recovered from the initial attack and saw Batman in front of him. He immediately let out a cry of convergence of energy before he charged that the Dark Knight! Batman got a few punches in before Judomaster jumped on top of him and began slamming his elbow into Batman's face! Batman immediately through the martial artist off of him before delivering a roundhouse kick to Judomaster's stomach. It was then the Killer Croc tried to hit him with a large piece of rock he picked up, but Batman immediately jumped out of the way and threw several smoke pellets at both super villains!
"Eda! Batman! We can fight them together!"said Luz, as she couldn't call her father her dad in front of his villains.
"You guys can't beat these guys! Go!"said Eda as she and Batman continued facing their villains.
Killer Croc meanwhile tried to go after Luz's group, but he was stopped when he found an electric surge of energy surge through his whole body!
"While I would like to continue this fight Batman. Our employer ordered me to bring Killer Croc back as soon as possible! And Fox was given permission to punish me if I should fail this mission, so adios!"said Judomaster as he threw a smoke bomb onto the ground.
As the smoke dissipated it was revealed that Judomaster and Killer Croc had disappeared in the confusion.
Meanwhile Eda was facing the golem like creature.
"It's been a while. Miss me?"asked Eda, as she threw several more potion bombs at the golem like creature!
Batman meanwhile decided to check where Judomaster and Killer Croc could have run off to as he looked outside in much to his relief Luz and the others were okay. Once his daughter was confirmed to be safe that he decided to help out Eda!
"Lets stopping, more running!"said Hooty, who wanted to get away from this place as soon as possible.
"Edalyn told us to stay here."said Lilith, as it was revealed that she was struggling to run thanks to the bruised ribs she received from Judomaster!
"We can't let them fight those guys alone!"said Luz, before several more explosions were heard.
The group looked on with worry as Batman helped Eda out of the entrance.
"Edalyn."said Lilith as she ran over to her sister.
"You're hurt."said Lilith.
"Don't move her to suddenly as she needs some rest."said Batman, as Eda needed a moment to catch her breath.
"And what of those horrible creatures?"asked Lilith as the golem monster tried to attack them but Eda smiled as it was revealed that it's a tax stopped as soon as they left some kind of invisible barrier that was around the structure.
"It can't get past the entrance, we're safe now."said Lilith.
"But what about the jerk in green spandex and the Giant lizard?"asked King, still mad how Judomaster hit him with the back of his hand.
"They left. Judomaster was ordered to come here for Croc. My guess is that he decided to leave now that his mission was complete."said Batman, as everyone let out a sigh of relief before looking back at the golem like creature.
"That thing must be guarding this place against intruders."suspected Luz, having inherited her father's deductive skills.
"But it's my castle. How can we be Intruders?"asked King, as Luz was appearing like she was hesitating to answer that question...
"You don't believe this is my castle."said King, noticing that Luz was hesitating to answer.
"Luz, you think I would lie to you?"
"It's time you tell him the truth."said Batman, as Eda told him everything on the way over to the island.
Eda took a deep breath as she approached King.
"You aren't lying. You just don't know the truth."said Eda as Batman and Lilith started treating her injuries.
"It's time for me to tell you how we really met."said Eda, as she began telling King the real way they met.
Apparently eight years ago she was looking for a place to escape from the Emperor's Coven. Eda never knew that the island existed as it just appeared out of the miss one day as she was running from the Emperor's forces. That Dale vicious rainstorm of boiling rains happened to occur while she was flying so she decided to land on the island and get away from the boiling rains. She needed shelter and she found it in mysterious structure they were just in. She thought she was alone until she figured out she wasn't.
It was then in there that she meant an infant King, She assumed he was some kind of stray dog and before she can investigate further that golem creature attacked both of them and she decided was then time to bounce! As she was making her way out of the structure, the golem fired an arrow that struck King, causing him to lose a piece of his left horn!
Eda quickly picked up king and the missing piece of his horn before she flew off the island! She then to come home where one day she noticed he was doing the same thing he did at the structure, stacking things into figures. She called him a king among his subjects and that's where he got the name and eventually the idea that he was the King of Demons.
Eda been admitted that although she knew it was a lie, she saw that he was happy so she decided to play along with it.
"Your lying."said King, not willing to believe that everything he has believed in most of his life was a lie.
"She's not."said Batman as Eda pulled out the missing piece of Kings left horn.
She how did it over to King and soon a lot of his lost memories appeared before his eyes.
"My army..."said King as his army turned out to be a bunch of stones he stacked up.
"My feasts..."said King, realizing his feasts were nothing more than him eating bugs that he caught.
"My life..."said King before he tossed his horn away.
"Ah, no! Keep that thing away from me. It's messing with my head."
"King, it's going to be okay."said Luz, trying to calm King down.
"You're oh just making fun of me like usual, right? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. No!"said King as he ran off, unable to accept that everything he believed in was all a lie.
"King!"said Luz, as her father grabbed her by her shoulder.
"Give him time. Everything he ever believed in was a whole a lie, it's not easy for anyone to accept that reality."said Batman, knowing many tragic people who suffered the same thing King was going through.
"For now let's go after him."said Batman, as he and Luz when after King.
Lilith and the others looked at each other before deciding to follow them.
"King! King! Please come back!"said Luz as she called out for her furry friend.
"I can't fly. The tree cover is too dense. I regret ever playing a part in this."said Lilith, as she was partly responsible for what happened today.
"Is this what regret feels like?"asked Hooty as he began crying.
"I lied to him, even though I knew he trusted me. Now he's all alone."said Luz, feeling ashamed of herself for helping with this lie as long as she did.
"For now, let's split up. The island is small and he's even smaller. He can have gone far."said Eda, as Lilith and Hooty ran off in one direction.
"Don't worry. We'll find him."said Eda to Luz, before she went off in another direction.
"He needs you now more than ever, let's go find your friend."said Batman, as Luz wiped away her tears and went with him to go look for King.
They found him looking at the moon on the beach a few minutes later. Luz looked on with worry as Batman motioned for her to go sit with him, which she did.
"Eda was right, wasn't she? I was never King of anything. I'm nobody."said King, as everything he believed in was, in truth a lie.
"You are somebody, and I love that somebody very much. I'm sorry I lied about what I believed."said Luz, as she felt now it was the appropriate time to apologize.
"Everi lied. And I was too caught up in the fantasy to realize it."said King, feeling so stupid for not realizing it sooner.
"We all want to believe we're something we're not. It's just a part of who you are, King. You are not a nobody as you are alive, and I'm sure with time you'll figure out who you really want to be."said Batman as he walked towards them.
"I don't know what to do, Luz, DK. I can't tell what's real and what's fake."said King, as he what sure what was real anymore.
"Someone is not adding up."said Batman, as he and Luz looked over at the structure in the middle of the island.
"Yeah, King said one of his memories was falling, right?"asked Luz, as King was wiping away a tear.
"Probably another stupid thing I made up."responded King.
"No, I think Luz is suggesting that that's a real memory."countered Batman.
"Why does it matter?"asked King, wondering what any of that had to do with the current situation.
"You said you remember a roar from in that shaft. Maybe that's where you fell from."said Luz as she pointed at the structure.
"Eda said she found you in those ruins. There's got to be some kind of clue in there about where you really came from."said Batman, quickly realizing where his daughter was going with this.
"I don't know, Luz. What if the story gets worse?"said King, not sure if what his friend was adjusting was even a good idea.
"You might have been alone before, but you have us now. Whatever we find up there won't change that."said Luz, hoping that whatever was up there would help King find out who he was.
"So what do you say?"
"Okay..."said King, as he was glad to have someone like Luz out here to help him.
Luz, Batman, and King soon met up with the others.
"King, you're all right."said Eda as she ran over to them.
"Your mad at me, I get it. I would be too. I'm so sorry, King."said Eda before King booped her on her chin.
"No more secrets, okay? You have to promise me."
"Only truths, I promise."said Eda, and she knew any more lies would hurt King.
"Great, now before we leave. We have one more thing to check out."said Luz, as she pointed to the structure.
Inside they're very structure the goal of my creature was restocking all of the rocks King stacked when he was younger, but then heard something before he was struck with a potion! Lilith and Holty then flew in!
"Special delivery: pain."said Hooty as he fired another potion at the creature, momentarily stunning it as Luz and the others flew in with an an invisibility spell hiding them until they had to breathe again.
The call him like creature tried to go after them but Batman threw several explosive batarangs at it, momentarily stunning it
"You sure they'll be all right?"asked Eda.
"Dad has gone through much worse. And Hooty knows exactly what to do."responded Luz, as Hooty get firing potion after potion like a bazooka!
"You sure they'll be all right?"asked Eda, disgusted at what she was seeing.
Batman meanwhile flew towards the roof and planted explosive gel around the boulders.
"Really?"asked Batman as he landed with the others.
"I always wanted to do something like this."said Luz with joy.
"There in place!"said Holty.
"Hold your breath!"said Lilith as she activated an invisibility spell.
The soon began attacking the creature as Batman allowed Luz to activate the explosive gel, exploding the boulder is as the creature grabbed a Lilith and threw her to the side, before Hooty countered with a face punch!
"Fly, fly, fly!"said Luz as everyone was using their respective modes of transportation to fly into the room above!
"There's nothing here!"said Eda as soon as they reach the top with the creature hot on their tail!
"It's coming!"said King as the creature cornered them next to a wall.
But as soon as king touch the wall he noticed that it was in fact the door and somehow him touching it allowed it to open. The group, upon noticing this immediately went inside and shut the door behind them just as the creature was about to strike, severing its hand in the process!
"I think we're safe for now."said Eda, as everyone was catching their breath.
"But how did we get the door open?"She asked.
"I think it's because King touched the door."said Batman as everyone began inspecting the room.
"This room is old, very old."said Lilith as they were inspecting the walls.
King meanwhile approach the center of the room, noticing what looked the remnants of an egg in the middle.
"I knew there was something up here."said Luz with excitement.
"I'm like the mystery whisperer. The butler did it. Magnifying glass. Secret door."
"It looks like that creature was made to guard whatever was in here."suggested Lilith.
"Basked on the paintings around us, this looks like a nursery."said Batman as he looked at King.
"King, does any of this feel familiar to you?"asked Luz.
"I'm not sure but I think I know how to jog my memory. Eda, I'm ready."
"Are you sure?"asked Eda, wanting to make sure if King was really sure.
"I am."he answered, as Eda gave him the missing piece of his left horn and he put it on his left corn.
King then began to recall the memories of a roar, but he was too small to do anything about it so he went back to sleep. Eventually he hatched and the golem-like creature picked him up as soon as he opened the door and took him down to the levels below.
"King..."
"That roar, it meant "son." I don't know how I know that, but I do. Someone called me their son. Luz, I think it was my dad."said King as he held the missing piece of his left horn.
"Maybe that was him and all those wall carvings!"suspected Luz, as the golem creature broke through the door!
"Stop!"said King, as the golden creature stopped attacking and bowed before King.
"That thing was defending King from us this whole time?"asked Eda, as it was hard to believe.
"King's father must have left it here as a guardian to protect his son."suggested Batman, as that's what the evidence showed.
These revelations were interrupted by Lilith taking pictures of the wall carvings.
"Oh, sorry. Were we discussing important revelations?"asked Lilith has a picture form from the camera she had on her.
"I'll just do this later."she added, as Hooty ate the camera.
"Maybe you weren't exactly the King of Demons, but."said Luz, as King finished her sentence.
"I was important to someone. If he's out there. I want to find him. I'm not that old. It could be possible. Would you help me?"asked King, wanting to find out who his dad was.
"I do anything for you, buddy."said Luz.
"Then can we keep him?"asked King, pointing to the golem.
"No."answered everyone except Hooty, who said yes.
Later at the Owl House, King was carving the symbol he saw all over the ruins onto his dog collar as Luz glued the missing piece of his left horn back on. King suspected that the symbol was his real name.
"It's too bad Jaan-Luc stop moving around outside the ruins. I loved having a big scary minion."said King, revealing that he named the golem Jean-Luc and that now he was in his room.
"Yeah, too bad."said Luz, who was secretly glad that was the case.
"Luz, is it okay to still call me King? It feels kind of weird when I'm not the king of anything."
"Well, you'll always be the king of my heart. That's good enough, right?"
"Yeah..!"said King as Luz kissed him good night.
Meanwhile Batman, Lilith, and Eda were investigating all the pictures that were taken of the ruins, wondering who would they depicting and why they were there.
Meanwhile Batman was wondering why Judomaster was sent to find Killer Croc, and why Killer Croc was AWOL in the first place.
Meanwhile in a cave in an unknown part of the Titan, Killer Croc was brought before Fox and the others.
"A shame you tried to run and hide, Killer Croc."said Fox, disappointed in his allie's attempt to hide from them.
"Our employer is insane! He will be the death of all of us!"said Killer Croc, before he was shocked again by the by the metal cuffs around his wrists, forcing him to his knees.
"Oh, we know. But we were promised so much in return. So I suggest from now on you don't try to run off again. Otherwise our employer won't be forgiving the next time you do that."said Fox, as Killer Croc instinctually held the back of his neck.
"I... I understand."said Killer Croc, realizing he no longer had a choice in the matter...
