A few days have passed since Lilith left the Owl House after she and Eda nearly destroyed Bonesborough after they were both transformed into the owlbeast! Batman has since been investigating the self-proclaimed "Blue Cells", a squad made up of villains from his world that are now working for the Emperor of the Boiling Isles, Emperor Belos!

Since then Batman has been investigating who they really work for as he suspected that their employer has made contact with the emperor and they're currently working in some kind of partnership! Now the only question is who is the employer that hired all of these villains to go to Gravesfield in the first place!

"Dad, where are you going?"asked Luz, noticing that her father was once again leaving the Owl House to go off on one of his mysterious trips where he would disappear for hours on end and not contact anyone.

"It's better that you don't know where I'm going."said Batman, knowing that if he told his daughter where he was going and something happened to him she would immediately run headstrong to that place and possibly put herself in danger.

"Dad, you don't have to hide something from me. We need to connect after all we do have over fourteen years of catching up to do."said Luz, hoping for a chance to connect with her father.

"I believe you need to see a certain girl at the library in order to find out about the other human who has been in the Boiling Isles."said Batman, knowing that his daughter had a crush on resident girl Amity Blight.

"Um..."said Luz, blushing profusely as she wondered how long her dad knew about this.

"You forget I'm considered the world's greatest detective."said Batman, having deduce that Luz liked boys and girls a long time ago.

And he honestly saw no problem with that as the world was constantly changing and acceptance of all people including people who consider themselves non-binary is a must! The world used to not accept people who believe differently than the majority but not longer the case and Batman knew he had to change with the world. He never did have a problem with it in the first place as it was really none of his business and who his daughter likes is also none of his business.

It didn't matter to him if it was a boy or a girl, as long as the two people in the relationship were happy that's all that mattered.

"Well... I'm going to go talk to Gus for his library card..."said Luz, walking out of the house.

"So... what's really going on?"asked Eda, suspicious that Batman was hiding something from his daughter.

"Haaa...Luz is still a child and I want her to live her life as normal as she can, considering how normal it can be considering this situation. She's happy, in love, and has made real friends here in the Boiling Isles. I don't want to take that away from her."said Batman, as Luz was considered more normal in this land than on Earth.

"Nothing wrong with a little bonding time with her, dad."said King, trying to convince Batman to open up to his daughter.

"Luz would never accept me, and I mean all of me."said Batman, confusing the residents of the Owl House.

"What do you mean?"asked Eda, wanting Batman to elaborate on what he just said.

"There is a darkness inside of me that pushes me to constantly follow through on my mission, and it takes every ounce of willpower to stop it from making me go over the edge and taking a life. I know it's easy to take someone's life and it takes every ounce of my willpower to not allow that darkness inside of me to take over and allow it to do that. There it's a thing inside of me that drives me to sacrifice everything for the sake of my mission, and I can't do that to Luz... she deserves better... as well as a normal father."said Batman as he walked out of the house.

"That was...deep..."said King, wondering what Batman was referring to.

"Give him time, King. This is difficult for him as it is difficult for Luz. She never knew that her father was a great hero, well he never knew that he had a daughter up until now. Both of them are being awkward with one another and although they're bonding it's clear that he's trying to push her away. I was the same until I met Luz, until I meet you. I know of that darkness he refers to...and trust me when I tell you that his darkness is bigger than mine and that's really saying something."said Eda, as she knows what it feels like to push everyone away to keep them safe.

Like how the Owlbeast has prevented her from making any real long-term relationships. The same could be said for Bruce Wayne and the thing inside of him that drives him to stomp out crime. The darkness then pushes him to fight with every ounce of strength in his body to rid out evil. And the very darkness he fights off in order to prevent him from going the next step and becoming a murderer.

"It's not easy going that next step, and once you take it there's no going back."said Eda, as once you snuff out someone's life, there is no turning back...

Meanwhile Batman had made his way to the elbow of the Titan to investigate sightings of Firefly. Batman needed more information out of the pyrokinetic obsessed villain if he really wanted to know who was behind this.

Firefly may be a loose cannon but he is the best chance of Batman finding out more about who hired Fox and the others to go to Gravesfield.

'I cannot shake the feeling that they know about Luz. By now the Emperor has surely told them that she is my daughter and that just puts her in more danger, especially by the Joker! Luz is still young And although she has dealt with her fair share of... memorable experiences she has not faced the wrath of individuals that are willing to kill. Well she has from what she has told me, but not at the level of these monsters.' thought Batman, as he began looking around the elbow for any signs of Firefly.

But before he could think about it anymore he jumped out of the way in time to avoid from Judomaster!

"Kyaaaa!"exclaimed the villain as he was screaming convergence of energy!

"What are you doing here, Judomaster?!"asked Batman as he took a fighting stance.

"Looking for Firefly, just like you!"said Judomaster as he charged in at Batman.

Judomaster tried to flip Batman with a uchi mata, but Batman managed to reverse it with a move from sambo! Batman then struck Judomaster with a move from Chinese kenpo known as fa jin, where he tightened his fists to keep as much energy into the strike until moment of impact!

"Gahhh!"exclaimed Judomaster as he was pushed back.

Judomaster then glared at Batman as he spat out some blood from his mouth and let out another yell of convergence of energy before he ran over and double kicked Batman in the chest, knocking the Dark Knight back!

Judomaster then followed with a move called tomoe nage by grabbing Batman's wrist, steps in, and sits down to flip Batman over. Batman rolls around on the floor to disperse the damage.

Judomaster then went for another uchi mata, but Batman with an O Goshi, or hip throw from sambo!

Batman did this as he knew that judo was centered around soft sweeping motions, whereas sambo was centered around powerful linear motions! Meaning that sambo's difference in muscle power was the perfect counter against judo! Judo isn't inferior, they just have tow different motions in attacks!

Judomaster learned this the hard way as his uchi mata was countered by Batman's hit throw and before the martial artist knew what he was doing he was already on the ground after hitting it with a powerful thud.

"Gahhh!"exclaimed Judomaster as some blood came out of his mouth.

"Now tell me who hired you in the first place!"asked Batman as he picked up the small villain and held him at the edge of the elbow.

"Screw you..."said Judomaster, define as there was no way on Earth or on the Boiling Isles that he would tell Batman anything!

"Talk!"said Batman as he held Judomaster closer to the edge!

"Come on Batman... you wouldn't want your daughter to see you do this."said Judomaster, as Batman let him go.

Judomaster lat out a scream before he felt like his leg was caught and he was tossed back onto the elbow before Batman punched him in the chin, knocking the super villain out instantly as he fell to the floor.

"Nice work!"said Firefly as he flew in, revealing that he saw everything.

"Why are you not with the others in Fox's self-proclaimed blue cells?"asked Batman, wondering why Firefly wasn't with the others.

"Look man, I like starting fires and earning money for it. But even I think the guy in charge is crazy for wanting to work with that Emperor guy. I don't know who hired us but all I know is whoever did it had a lot of money in their pocket as those mercenaries that broke me out of Blackgate prison where no joke as they were top quality. And we both know only a handful of villains have the money necessary in order to hire people of that quality. I'm talking ex special forces mercenaries, like Amanda Waller's dog Rick Flag level."said Firefly, as Batman pondered on this.

'This definitely helps with my investigation as only a handful of people can hire people with Rick Flag's level of skill set. Whoever is operating behind the scenes is certainly putting a lot of money into this. Meaning that's whatever they're doing in the Boiling Isles is considered unnecessary expense for them. This definitely lower is my list of suspects significantly but I still need to go through the names that are left in order to find out who's behind this.' thought Batman, before noticing that Emperor's Coven scout reinforcements were approaching.

"Well, I'm out of here as there's no way I'm going to get caught by Fox."said Firefly as he flew away.

The Coven scouts arrived in time to see Judomaster on the floor, but no sign of Batman or Firefly.

"Get him to the healing coven."said one of the common skeletons they put Judomaster on a stretcher.

Batman was heading back to the Owl House with this new information. But as he was getting there he noticed that his daughter Luz was heading in the direction of the Blight house, and she was covered in scratches...!

"Luz, what happened!"asked Batman as he approached, getting his daughter's attention.

"Oh, hey Dad. Nothing much... I just accidentally got Amity fired from the library and I had to do a whole bunch of stuff to get her boss to take her back."said Luz, as Batman completely believed her as that sounded like something she would do.

"Now I'm going to go apologize to Amity in person."said Luz, as Batman nodded and accompanied her to the house as last thing he wanted was to leave her little Odalia an Alador again!

Luz knocked on the door and soon Amity answered, only her usual green hair was now colored purple.

"I'm so sorry for everything. I'd understand if you never want to see me again. Uh--it's different."said Luz, upon noticing Amity's new hair.

"Oh yeah. Mom always liked it green. I thought I could use a change."said Amity, before noticing Batman

"I don't think we've properly introduced ourselves before. I'm Batman, but you probably know me as Matches Malone."said Batman, as he and Amity shook hands.

"Yeah, I know, my mom and dad are scared of you. I'm Amity and I'm Luz's friend."said Amity, wondering what you should say in front of her crush's father.

"Well now, I believe you two will need to talk about something so just ignore me."said Batman, taking a step back so his daughter and her crush could talk.

"Uh, how did you get this back? And what happened?"asked Amity, wanting to change the subject.

"Well, to convince Malphas to hire you again, I had to go through some trials. And categorize some man eating books.And tame something called a paper dragon. That guy was not fun."said Luz, as Batman felt he needed to have a "talk"with this Malphas later.

"Oh, hey guys."said Luz, upon noticing Emira and Edric.

"Mr Malone, why don't we have some tea inside, and get to know each other better."said Emira as she led Batman inside.

Emira then gave her sister a wink before she smiled at Batman and held his hand as she led him in.

"Well, looks like you made a new friend."said Amity, noticing the echo mouse on her friend's leg.

"Gah! Your the one who ate the diary."said Luz, before she captured the echo mouse.

"I hate you."said Luz, as the echo mouse was struggling.

"Wait. This is an echo mouse. It consumes knowledge through writing and can play back anything it eats."said Amity, as she helped Luz get up.

"We dealt with them a lot at work. Watch."said Amity, before she petted the echo miles and allowed it to play back the diary it ain't.

Luz and Amity look John as they saw that the diary belong to someone named Philip Wittlebane, and played back his voice as he was discussing his journey through the Boiling Isles.

"Thank you, little mouse. I hope you and I can become good friends."said Luz, as Amity started staring at her.

"Don't worry. You always have a way of thinking into people's hearts."said Amity as she gave Luz a kiss on the cheek.

"Bold move, sister."said Ed, as he looked back to see his twin sister and Luz's father having tea.

She appears to be enjoying his company.

Luz meanwhile grew wide-eyed as Amity started blushing upon realizing what she did.

"Uh, okay, Good to see you... Farewell forever!" Why did I do that? Why don't I do that l? Why did I do that?"asked Amity as she returned home.

Luz meanwhile fell to the floor and surprise as Batman was getting asked a lot of questions by Emira about Luz and himself, with a faint blush on her cheeks.
