Their wedding was easy enough to rationalize to the public.

The Hylian hero, the one who bested the Calamity Ganon in combat and brought peace upon Hyrule, and the proud Gerudo chief. While the latter had been a close friend of the late Queen of Hyrule, her friendship was a private relation.

This, however, was a different matter. The people of Hyrule, of all races, had faced the usual demoralization of war against a near invincible opponent. The permanent union between the leader of the desert tribe, and the Hylian war hero started a new age. The races of Hyrule, standing together in arms against their foe, siginified a change in the continent. Their marriage solidified it.

Some suspicious whispers could be heard. A woman in her late thirties being wed to a boy... a man not even in his twenties, had spread concern upon a few people.

Urbosa smiled at the thought. She felt the same when their kinship, their mutual warriors respect, started to blossom into something more.

Link, far away from the stoic, reserved knight he once was, was the one who commenced to pursue her. And although Urbosa was aware that she was considered to be one of the most beautiful bachelorettes in the world, the attention the young voe gave her felt flattering.

She was aware of the romantic oppurtunities Link posessed. After word of his formidable success spread over the continent like a wildfire, the women of the world started swooning over the Hero of Hyrule, hoping to be the one maiden Link would eventually take as his wife.

But he would have none of it. Link never was one for loose entaglements, and the women of the world who did not share the experiences he went through seemed too far away from him. He knew a woman who shared his epxeriences though. Who went through the blood, the tears, the dirt, the dread and finally, the victory of war.

The woman he grew to respect, then to admire, and then to love. The tall Gerudo chief and beauty, Urbosa.

Urbosa's cheeks reddened, thinking about the beginnings of their romance. Like the wedding, he always, apparently, had very good reasons to come to the town of the Gerudo.

Whether it was to strengthen diplomatic relations, whether a traders caravan needed guards, whether bandits close to the Gerudo needed to be dealt with by the Hylians as a gift and show of respect All of his work pulled him to the desert.

And of course, it was always too much of a hassle to return to the castle afterwards. So, he would just stay with the desert tribe for a night, or two...

His vai costume, a long forgotten garment used to sneak into the female-only settlement of the Gerudo, was stored away in her cupboard, now being a mere subject of embarassing anecdotes and stories. After the war, while the Gerudo law remained, no one dared to deny the Hero entry into their town. Rather, he would be welcomed with open arms.

And whenever Link stayed in Gerudo, the chief Urbosa wasn't far.

In the beginning, Urbosa suspected nothing of Link's increasing visits. The Gerudo tribe, a proud people of female warriors, valued strength and proficiency in battle. To be able to welcome the heroic, chivalrous Link into their town was an honour, even to the near unbeaten Urbosa.

Their interactions were friendly, familiar at first. Talks about Hylian-Gerudo relations, or a friendly spar. Those were her favourites. While she was able to hold her own, and beat him quite a few times, Link still was the only one capable of beating her in a spar. Even though she was more muscular than him and his head only reached her breasts, Link was nothing short of a force of nature.

The exhiliration, the adrenaline rush, the sweat induced by their physical exertion and punishing desert sun. This was their way of bonding.

A few minutes of spar usually had both of them breathing heavily. The level they fought on was unreached by most living beings.

That's when she noticed it the first time. His eyes, so blue and striking like her lightning powers, roamed her sweating body. Him watching certain parts of her was normal, since their height difference made it so. But she saw him really look now.

She was not unfamiliar with those looks. In her 39 years of life, numerous voes ogled her. Some openly, some trying to sneak a glance at her secretly.

But the fire, the passion in his eyes when looking at her, was something different. It was not lust, at least not only lust. It was... adoration.

They locked eyes, and he knew she caught him staring. A normal man would beg for mercy at being found out, but he smiled. And not a taunting, or lustful smirk. A genuine, warm smile.

Urbosa smiled in return, although she was mildly surprised. Something about his smile just seemed different.

"Your prowess remains unmatched, Urbosa. It is always an honour to spar with you.", Link spoke to her.

"Likewise, Hero.", she responded earnestly, straightening out her back while she left her battle stance. Link did the same, grabbing a towel while throwing one at her.

"I feel bad for stealing time from the chief of the Gerudo constantly, though. Let me repay you for your time and company, Urbosa.", Link told her.

Urbosa locked eyes with him again after she wiped the sweat off of her face. He stood in front of her now, so she had to look down to keep the eye contact.

"You are not required to repay me, Link. You are not merely a brother-in-arms, you are a friend.", she replied earnestly. "Although, I am intrigued. What did you have in mind?"

There it was again, his genuine smile. "The Gerudo always show me their hospitality, and there are few places I feel as welcome as here. Allow me to treat you for dinner, Urbosa. Show me the best place to get dinner here, and let me give you back something.", Link said to her, the smile softening a bit.

There it was again. The soft smile, the noticeable pink blush on Links usually pale face. The hints of shyness and uncertainty in his eyes.

'Is he trying to court me?', she wondered. 'I see he feels something. I don't know whether I should indulge him. Then again, he also could just be honest.'

Urbosa smiled back. "Well, the best place to get food around here are from my cooking team in the palace. I would be glad to share a meal with you."

"Being served by your people kind of defeats the purpose of me trying to repay you, doesn't it?" Link asked sheepishly.

"Worry not, Link. As I said, you have no reason to repay me or my people. Rather, we have a lifetime to repay you.", Urbosa replied honestly. "And forget the inn. I know you don't want to impose. But as a friend, you are a guest of mine, and you will stay in the palace guest rooms."

Link knew better than to argue with her. Rather, he just nodded and smiled gratefully.

The sun was slowly setting over the desert town when the two shared their dinner, a Molduga filet with local vegetables.

Link and Urbosa sat on the roof, blankets and pillows spread out on the floor while eating and allowing the possibility to comfortably lean back.

As usual their conversation started with official talk again. But slowly, the talk got more... intimate.

Link slowly started to slip in a careful innuendo in his sentences. Their plates empty and put to the side, the two leaned back and sat next to each other while facing the deep sunset, which embedded the town in a vibrant orange. They were about half an arms length apart from each other. Her right arm was slung over the pillows, and went behind him.

Her suspicions were confirmed with his, somewhat clumsy yet cute, attempts at flirting. And it made her heart flutter a bit.

To imagine this young man, the hero, attempt to woo her felt charming and flattering, although she was questioning what she should do herself.

The voe was attractive, she wouldn't deny that. His blonde hair, his piercing blue eyes, his shiny pale skin which covered the muscles of a battle hardened warrior.

Yet, would him pursuing her be okay? She was 39, and he just turned 19. She did not doubt her own attractiveness, but whether a romance would be licit at all.

"Urbosa.", Link said, cutting into her thoughts. "Is everything alright? You seem lost in thought."

She smiled down at him and replied. "Link, forgive me for being direct like this, but am I correct to assume you have some more than friendly feelings for me?"

Her smile was teasing, like they are most of the time, but it was also genuine.

Link smiled and looked over out towards the city. "Am I that easy to read?"

Urbosa chuckled. "You seem to wear your heart on your sleeve recently."

Link sighed and looked at her, and for the first time, she saw the weariness of a man who saw far too much death in his quite short life.

"I can't be like before anymore, Urbosa. Remembering everything we went through, it feels like a little slip up would've been enough to change everything. Like the smallest mistake could've killed us all. I don't want to hide what I feel.", he said, determinedly.

Link moved his hand and moved it on top of her larger one.

"Link... I feel flattered, but are you certain this is what you wish? I am old enough to be your mother.", Urbosa reasoned, resisting the urge to grab his hand.

Link smiled at her. "Perhaps, but you are, in fact, not. There are a lot of attractive women, but none have quite captured my heart like you have, Urbosa. You have always been the most beautiful woman I've known, and I have the feeling that you get me in a way no other woman could ever.", Link countered earnestly, while softly grabbing her hand and rubbing the back of it with his thumb.

"Link, I don't know what to say.", she replied, looking unusually shy and undecided.

"Do you not feel the same?", he said, looking seriously.

"Link... you are the most exceptional voe I've ever met. You have the chivalry of a thousand knights, and you are sweet, but... it feels wrong. What will your people say?"

"I do not care.", Link says, moving closer to her. Their faces were close enough that they could feel their breaths on them. "We have saved this world from damnation, and we have earned the right to a bit of selfishness."

He pulled his hand away from hers up to her face, and gently ran his thumb over her dark, tanned skin and high cheekbones. He appreciated her barely visible blush.

"I love you Urbosa. I want you. I do not care about your age. You are a not my mother, you are only a woman to me. A breathtaking, fierce, and wonderful woman. I would feel honoured if you even only considered me. And I want you, and only you."

He scooted upwards to move closer to her face, and appreciated the details of it. Her pretty ears, accompanied by her set of tasteful earrings. Her eyes, as green and lively as the Hylian forests, her long, pointy nose which was characteristic for the Gerudo women. Her full lips, covered in their usual, enticing blue colour that just screamed kiss me at him. He slowly drifted his thumb towards them, leaving a few blue stains on it.

"I only have this life, Urbosa. Once we join the Goddess, we cannot make these decisions anymore. I have made it plausible for other people, that there's always a good reason for me to be here. The biggest reason I come here though is to see the woman that has ensnared my heart. If you do not wish to be mine, then I understand. But please, be honest with me."

She covered his hand, which was dormant on her cheek, with her own when she said "Oh Link, to think you would ever profess your love to me. You are the first who does it in such a wonderful way that I can believe it."

She was shy during his confession, but she recovered quickly and put on a teasing smirk again, although the hint of genuineness didn't leave her. "To see you again after the war made me glad. I would've understood if you didn't want to see any of us anymore, to get your space. I love you, too. And I want to see what these lips of yours can do besides making vais around you blush."

By now, Link and Urbosa laid on their side. She leaned down and moved her plump lips against his. It was a bit clumsy, but everything that they accumulated in the past months unloaded now. Their liplock was soft and tender, and it felt so right, the world be damned.

She pushed him down onto his back and sat on his lap. In this position, their size difference was very apparent. Her thighs were twice the size of his, her upper body easily towered over his. And he could not tell why, but the thought was extremely hot.

Urbosa looked down at Link, his face even pinker than before, his chest moving up and down in quick breaths, and his lips stained in her blue lipstick.

She smirked seductively, and leaned down again while Link gulped.

It was this spot, on top of the palace of Gerudo town, where Urbosa was finally kissed by a voe.

It was this position, beneath the beautiful chief of the Gerudo, where Link finally got to claim the lips of a vai, the vai that he loved.
