This was my favourite piece to write! I had so much fun writing it and it was so soothing. It had Broganes, Kallura and Shurtis and somehow managed to remain canon-compliant as well. Warnings for Complex PTSD with symptoms of psychosis as well as a physical bodily response to the mental because our mind and body is linked. This was written for the Day 24 prompt which is "too weak to move". It's half-angsty and half-heartwarming which is an interesting combination, but this story definitely has both the hurt and the comfort.

Keith's heart raced as he saw Shiro wince at every little movement he made. Was this his fault somehow? Because he had moved to New Altea after his marriage with Allura. It had seemed like Shiro was doing better but he should have known better.

"Keith," Curtis brought him out of his thoughts. "Please stop beating yourself up over this."

"Are you sure he's okay?" Keith asked, not responding to the part of him beating himself up over it.

"He's just exhausted from the anxiety attack," Curtis assured him. "The physical reaction of his body usually makes him really tired."

"Usually?" Keith asked, his heart sinking even further. Did this happen often?

"I mean, whenever it happens," Curtis said quickly before sighing. "I've been around my cousin too long. I'm not helping, am I?"

Keith frowned a bit but didn't reply to that. This was all his fault. If he hadn't been selfish, if they had invited Shiro and Curtis to come live on Altea with he and Allura, this would have never happened. Speaking of Allura, his phone beeped, and he took it out to open a video message from her.

"Keith, are you certain you don't need me to come and heal Shiro?" Allura asked. "Or if you need me, Coran can mind things here and I'll fly over in Blue."

Keith stared at the phone for a moment. A small part of him wanted to call her over but the other part of him said that he needed to do this alone. He was brought out of his thoughts by a touch to his shoulder.

"Call Allura over," Curtis said softly. "And Keith if you want to help Shiro, go to him, ok? Seeing you makes him happy."

Keith shook his head. "It's my fault Shiro's like this. I should fix it. Allura has a lot of responsibilities."

"Oh, for heaven's sake," Curtis took Keith's phone and recorded a voice message. "Princess, this is Curtis. Keith needs you even though he refuses to admit it. Could you please come over?" He really could act too much like Lance when he wanted to.

"Curtis," Keith began but the response from Allura was instantaneous.

"I'm on my way," Allura's next voice message said firmly, and Curtis gave Keith a gentle shove.

"Certain things are still a trigger for Shiro, and he tries to overdo it sometimes, you know how he is," Curtis said softly. "I've been working on getting him to take care of himself a little better, but it's been working in baby steps. Seeing you will make him feel better, Keith. Trust me."

Keith paused before nodding and heading to Shiro's room, knocking lightly. "Shiro, can I come in?"

Shiro glanced his way, trying to sit up but groaned and fell back on the bed. "My body is too weak to move, that was a bad idea. But of course, you can come in."

Keith moved inside, watching Shiro as he shifted his weight from one foot to the other, feeling very much like a young Garrison cadet again. "What can I do, Shiro? How can I help? And don't say you're fine." His voice turned slightly stern at the last part.

Shiro stayed quiet for a few moments as if debating what to reply. "Will you lay with me for a little bit? Like we used when you were young."

Keith blinked. "I'm a lot taller than I used to be though."

Shiro chuckled a bit. "You wish, kiddo. You're still too small."

Keith scowled but it contained no real displeasure behind it. "That is not true. I'm a perfectly average height."

"So will you?" Shiro asked, voice becoming a little quieter now as he asked. "I know I'm not as strong as I used to be."

Keith moved closer, taking off his shoes, not minding his clothes as he curled in next to Shiro. "You're much stronger than you used to be, Shiro. And these attacks? The aftermath of the war and all? They're your battle scars. You're…" His cheeks flushed a bit. "You're still my hero." These last words were mumbled, and he buried his face in Shiro's side, feeling the other's body relax at this.

Shiro placed a gentle kiss on top of Keith's head but said nothing more.
