Thank you for the lovely reviews! Happy to hear them.

Once again sadly the world of Harry Potter belongs to the one and only J.K Rowling! All credit to the characters go to her.

Chapter 2: A Mother's Love

"If your listening to this now it means I am no longer here. I had planned to face your once you were an adult. But just in case something happened I had this for you to find. To explain so you would know."

Know that I loved you more then you know. You and Theo meant the world to me. How I wish I could have raised you both. I hope that you'll give your brother a chance. I will try and ensure he wouldn't hold the prejudice that I know his father holds. But a father's influence can be strong. You can't blame him for the way he was raised."

"With this letter I am sure you found the box? In it hold a few family jewels that have been passed on from mother to daughter in my family. There should also be a small photo album of you the first weeks I had you. Of both you Hermione and Theo. Yes I named you, placing your name in your parents memories. That way you would still carry something of me with you."

"For now this is the end, I couldn't risk visiting your parents to often without putting the spell at risk. But I will watch you from afar. With this letter I also charmed another letter to appear on Theo's desk for him to read. Hopefully with it will be other letters for the two of you to read that I left of the years."

"Good bye my beautiful little girl. I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me as well as your brother."

With the last few word the letter slowly lost its glow and floated down and into Hermione's lap. Tear stains evident on her cheeks as she stared at it. The information slightly brief but still she couldn't hate the woman.

After all she did this to keep her safe. She found her parents that would give her a wonderful life with wonderful memories. She didn't just leave her, she thought about it and figured out the best way before going through with it. For that she couldn't help but feel thankful to her and loved.

Suddenly there was a pounding in the door to her and her parents house. Before she had the chance to get up and answer there was a simmer of magic before the door opened. Standing in it was a tall young man the same age as she was. His hair a shade or two darker then her own. Though instead of curls it only had a slight wave to it. A few stands were out of order and in front of his eyes.

He didn't look happy but he wasn't exactly angry either. He more or less seemed flustered and confused. His brown eyes watching her before stepping in and looking around the muggle home.

"How did you..." She began to ask the fact that his just bursted into her home in the back of her mind with all the events of today. "She had a tracker on this didn't she?"

"Yes..." Came a rough voice as if he wasn't sure how to speak to the girl that his friends use to tease over her blood status. The girl that now he finds out was his sister. If it wasn't for the trust he had in his mother he wouldn't believe it. "You explain so much."

Hermione blinked at those words and a frown forming on her face. "What do you mean by that Nott?" She asked cringing at the scruffy sound of her voice from crying. "What does it explain?"

Without waiting for an invite to sit he went to a chair that sat across from the girl in the room. His head going down and his hands into his hair. "She hated the whole blood superiority thing. Telling me not to judge a book by its cover and to give everyone a chance. The sad looks in her eyes the first few years when Draco or I would complain about you beating us in grades." He sighed before looking up and eyeing the girl. Still finding it all surreal.

She nodded then and really it made sense. The last thing that a mother would want would be for her child to be bullied because she left her with Muggles. "Guess she didn't like you calling your own sister a Mudblood." She spit out slightly saying that word and watching the man flinch. "Making fun of her because of who she was born to even if..."

"I never used that word. Sure I laughed along with my friends but I didn't call you or any other muggle-born that." He snapped at her with a glare. "Yes I thought I was above in status because I am a Pureblood. But mother raised me better then to use a word like that, then to think they were unworthy."

She glared back at him. "You still took part in it. What do you think I would forget it all because suddenly I am like you? That it changes everything?" She asked choking slightly on her words. Her emotions were high enough as is.

"No I don't expect that but honestly what could I do? I didn't agree with what they said and did to you in school. But if I didn't laugh along that I would be questioned and then you would go back to that bastard of a father." He told her with a slight twitch of his lips before pulling out a small envelope. "But we can take the time and get to know each other. Get to know the real me and I will get to know the real you."

She glanced at the other letter before looking at the man that was suppose to be her brother. "What's the catch?" She asked knowing this couldn't be as easy as it seemed.

"Each time you visit we will read one of the letters she left at my... I mean our manor. Other then that the company, your the last of my family apparently. Mother died back when we would have been in our second year. Father died in the war. It's lonely in that manor with just the house elves." He told her shrugging and looking away. "Besides I can tell you about her, tell you about our society."

"Not interested in your society. But getting to know who she was I can get on board with." She said loosing the snip to her voice and calming down as she reach for the box. Opening it up and picking out the album.

"You might not want to know about it but you still should. There will be a few things you will want to know to avoid complex things. Things that you just wouldn't want to deal with." He growled slightly knowing this would be hard with her upbringing and all. "What's that?" He added looking at the little book.

"Pictures of us before I was given to my parents. Their dates are different but I guess she changed that when she gave me to them. My supposed birthday is Sept 19th. But it says here we were born Sept 1st." She said looking at pictures with a woman in her late 30s. Her hair light brown and soft curls. In her arms two little bundles, one in each arm. "She said she hid me for the first weeks of my life."

"Well looking at you I can say I can see the resemblance between us and between mother. It would seem suspicious if we looked the same and if we were born the same day." He told her leaning back as she looked at each picture. "They knew she was having twins but everyone was told the one died at birth. That's what I was told though she hinted that I should get to know you before she passed."

Nodding she sat back and handed him the album. Figuring he wouldn't have seen these pictures. "And we are on a similar level when it comes to intellect." She added to his list. Which was true, she might be the best in her year but he wasn't far behind her.

She was still unsure on forgiving him for the years of bullying. But he was right when he said he didn't actively aid in it. In fact she could remember nights in the library where she would spot him studying. He wouldn't say anything to her and the odd time he would nod in acknowledgment to her. It was only when he was in the presence of his friend did he laugh.

"I suppose I can agree with getting to know you. But I can't promise wanting to have a relationship of any kind." She told him as he flipped through the pages of pictures of them. "Nor do I want this getting out. Don't tell anyone about this." She added in.

"I will agree to that for now, if you do the same. Don't tell your friends about this until you want it out in the open." He told her setting the book down. Watching her for a moment before getting up. "Meet me tomorrow at Nott Manor and we can read the first letter."

"Fine last thing I need is their questions right now." She told him as he went to the door. "I will be there after dinner then say 7pm?" She asked willing you give this a go. If only to satisfy her curiosity on what was in the letters. To get to know this man that was suppose to be her brother.

"Good night Hermione." He said as he reached the door. Trying out her first name for once. It was a step in the direction he wanted this to go. Or at least he thought it would be. Taking one last glance at her he offered a small yet seemingly sad smile before disappariting away.

Swallowing a large lump in her throat Hermione leaned forward. Exhausted from the days events and still thirsting for answers she was sure she might never get. "As if my life couldn't get more complex then this." She sighed shaking her head before closing the box after placing the letter and album inside it.

Sure she wanted to write a letter up to her friends but she could only imagine their response. Not only that but the questions they would have for her wouldn't help her in the least. So for now she would stay quiet about this all like she told Theo.

Picking up a small piece of paper she wrote out a little note to leave on the table. Telling her parents that she as tired and retiring for the night. Really she just didn't want to face their own questions yet. That and she was intact emotionally tired and sleep seemed like a good escape for the time being.

Setting the note where it would be found she gathered the little box in her hands before heading up to her room. Closing the door she said a quick silencing spell before setting the box down and getting into her bed. Once there a few more years slipped past her eyes before sleep took her over.
