Thank you for all your reviews so far! Don't worry about the whole Theo broke into her house thing. She will deal with it I can promise that. Speaking from experience sometimes when your in shock you might not react as you should but later you will.

As for how I plan to portray Theo, we will see where my writing takes him. Though I have plans for him to be not so bad. Will he say things? Most likely but I have a twisted plan that will be revealed in later chapters.

Once again Harry Potter belongs to J.K. Rowling so all credit to her!! With the exception to my new character coming into play this chapter.

Also this is sort of a filler chapter to help with the rest of this story!

Chapter 3: Brother

The night went by and soon day light came through the blinds in her bedroom. Squinting Hermione sat up, looking at her alarm clock to see that it read 9 am. Shaking the sleep from her head she moved to get out from under the covers and out of bed.

"Slept in." She mumbled softly as she before going about getting ready for the day. Brushing her teeth, showering and getting dressed.

Once done she made her way down stairs before picking up a little note from her parents. Telling her that they had to head out to get things in order to reopen their dentistry. But that they would see her at dinner that night.

Giving a heavy sigh she went about the kitchen. Getting breakfast ready for herself the muggle way. Once done she sat down, eating as she thought over the thing a that happened the day before. Knowing that she would be meeting with Theo at his place after 7.

Once she was finished she pushed the plate away and pulled her coffee cups towards her. A habit she got into after the war. Sipping at the black coffee she jumped when she heard a soft rapping on the front door.

Getting up she peaked through the little window to see who it was before quickly opening the door. A smile one her lips and a look of shock in her eyes.

Standing there was a well dressed girl about the same age as she was. She was in a small summer dress of a light purple that came to her knees, one inch heels of silver on her feet. Her soft light golden brown hair was half up in a little twist with a flower in it. The rest of it falling down in soft waves coming half way down her back. Eyes a sapphire blue in colour and her lips painted with a rose colour.

"It's been awhile Mimi, I got a text last night from your parents that you might need someone to talk to a keep you company today?" The girl said in a soft voice. A smile gracing her lips as she stepped in hugging Hermione.

"I thought your were in America Ava." Hermione said returning the hug. Happy to see her childhood friend, after all it's been almost 3 years since they saw one another.

"Yes well I got back a couple days ago after receiving a special letter. I was going to visit with you in a few days. But when you mother told me you needed someone that wasn't part of the magical world but knew of it to talk to." Ava said with a soft chuckle. "She gave me a quick summary of what's going on. But I knew you would want to talk to someone."

Blinking away tears Hermione nodded her head before leading Ava into the living room. Telling her she would be back with coffee before heading to the kitchen. Pouting another cup for her friend and topping up her own before going back with a platter of the coffee, sugar and cream.

"Thank you." Ava said preparing her drink before sitting back and taking a sip. Then she glanced at Hermione. "I was surprised when I heard from your mother. Last I heard you changed their memories on them." She told her in a light friendly tone.

"Yes well I managed to bring them all back. And then this bloody mess came up." Hermione sighed, taking out the letters from her mother and the pictures. "I agreed not to tel any one..."

"Ahh yes the reason I came today. You may have promised but I don't have any connections to your magical life outside of knowing about it yet." She told her, smiling when she noticed the word 'yet' didn't settle into Hermione yet. "Now why don't you tell me about it all, who will I tell?" She asked her with a smile.

Chuckling Hermione went on to tell her story. Leaving out no details at all. Even as Ava's eyes widened in shock at some of the things that were told to her. Then she went on to explain the two wars that took place before finally going quiet.

"Well that's certainly a lot to take in. Though from your letters before I can understand some of it." Ava said once all was said and done. "You've been under a lot of stress haven't you?" She asked softly.

"Yes I suppose you can say that." Hermione said with a sigh. "I just hope that by returning to do my N.E.W.Ts will give me a chance to have a normal year."

"Ahh so you will be returning?" Ava asked leaning forward.

"Yes I got a letter early on to let me know that I will be Head Girl." She told her with a bit of excitement.

"Then maybe I can give you some news that will hopefully be a happy surprise." Ave said pulling out a letter with a very familiar deal to it. "Turns out your Headmistress got the approval to start what they call the 'muggle' program. I will be a trail in it to see how the student react to being around a muggle."

Hermione blinked a few time not sure what to make of it. "She started a what, are your serious?" She asked pulling the Hogwarts letter from Ava's fingers. "We will be having our last year of school together?"

"Well technically your last year together. I am done with school, though I will be doing an independent study for business and fashion. Which is why she picked me. They don't have to bring in a professor for a trail run. I know of the magical world thanks to growing up with you. Lastly I am smart enough to do my university credits on my own." Ava laughed softly.

"If this goes well then starting next year they plan to set up the program for siblings and family members of muggle borns." She added to explain a little more. "They will have their own professors and common rooms. Though for this year I am suppose to share a common room with the Head Girl and Boy."

Nodding Hermione read all that in the letter. "So we will see a lot of each other then." She noted happily. That would be nice since she didn't know yet who Head Boy was or more like Boys. Since it was made clear in her letter that there would be 2 Head Girls and 2 Hear Boys this year. "And ahhh... What does your father think of all this?" She asked looking up.

Ava froze at that and thought over her answer. "I honestly don't know. I am of age and can do what I please. Besides I am already making plans to start my own business with my mother's inheritance I received. He got his heir with his new wife and I could care less what he thinks of me." She told her not putting much more into explaining the situation.

It was a hard topic for Ava. Coming from a well off aristocratic Muggle family was hard. Or at least she thought it was. Her mother was kind and she was friends with Hermione's mother. That's how the girls knew each other. Really they grew up and even went to school together up until they were 11.

After her mother passed it got harder. Her father remarried, had a son, then put the pressure on for Ava to marry a wealthy man. Luckily her mother left everything she had to Ava and she managed to get out. Though there were consequences, such as being disowned by her father.

"Anyways why don't we go to lunch? My treat." Ava asked to change the subject. Smiling as it was indeed past noon.

--Nott Manor--

Theo gave a sigh as he read over the letters again and again. Tracings a few words with his fingers. He knew they weren't fake just by the style of writing. His mother's writing was unmistakeable.

Slowly a bit of anger started boiling in him. More so at his father then anything else. How could anyone agree to give their child away to anyone, especially a mad man. Even if the said child wasn't an heir it didn't mean they weren't important.

Because of this he missed out on growing up with his sister. Not only that but he was raised to hate everything his sister loved, believing she was a Muggle Born. He was certain if it wasn't for his mother's interference he wouldn't have truly been crueler to her in school.

Luckily her loving influence was stronger then his father's. He only really put up the act of hating Muggles and Muggle Borns. An act to appease his father and friends. Really he had nothing against them. Sure he thought himself above them, but so did Muggle Royalty.

Shaking his head he checked on the time and noted that Hermione would be there in an hour. Which meant he needed to get a few books ready for her to read. After all he had a lot to explain and knowing her she would want to research it.

Not only that but she had to know how to conduct herself in proper company. As there were magical customs she would have to know to avoid some serious things. Like getting betrothed by accepting the wrong thing or promising something she shouldn't.

Once this got out he knew of many that would take advantage of her not knowing their customs. The Nott family was one of few that had no inbreeding in it. Not relations to most wizarding families out there. Pureblood from all over would want the chance to snatch up a Nott daughter. A daughter that was rare as their family was known for only having sons.

At least Hermione was smart and should learn fast. That would make this a lot easier and hopefully less awkward.

Setting the book he gathered down he looked up as his floo went off. Hermione stepping through dusting herself off before looking up to see her brother standing there.

"Ahh Hermione wel..." He was cut off when a sharp flash of a Stinging Jinx just missed him, hitting the floor between his legs.

"That Nott is a warning. Next time you decide to stop by for a visit. Remember to wait till one answers the door. Don't break in, or didn't your daddy not teach you any manners." Hermione said before tucking her wand away. "Now we're will be be talking? Here or another room?" She asked sounding a little too sweet.

"Well dear Sister my father taught me nothing good but mother taught me my manners. Pardon last night I wasn't thinking straight and forgot them." He told her was a small glare. Though he supposed he was lucky that she didn't hex him to oblivion and back last night for that. "As for where we will talk. How about in the next room. These are some books you can take home with you."

Snapping his fingers a little female house elf popped in. She had a clean pillow case on that was a soft pink. Tied with a piece of dark rose yarn to make it look like a dress. "Tessy, would you please prepare tea for the sitting room?" He asked the elf who was staring at Hermione with wide eyes.

"Yes master right away." She said appearing as though tears might start running down her eyes. "Tessy is very happy to see Mistress is finally home." She added before popping away.
