Take Two!

Disclaimer: Takes place somewhere in my 'Hijinks' series and since we never got to see the Flash deliver the device Jefferson and the others needed to get Jennifer back, I thought I'd do a take on it.

After Jefferson had called Barry with a request for the Hadron Particle Condenser and Jay, who'd been around at the time, heard what was going on, had offered to take the device to Freeland. Seeing it as an opportunity to visit Jefferson again for the first time in years since this Timeline had them as old friends and team mates. Granted, it had been a little awkward where Lynn was concerned as the last time he'd seen her and the Pierces had been when Lynn had gotten Jefferson to give up being Black Lightning. Believing what he was doing to be something akin to addiction and then divorcing the man after she got what she wanted. Something Jay hadn't ever understood but had kept his silence on the matter and while Jefferson was troubled and things in Freeland were troubled as well in the aftermath of the War for Freeland and Central and the losses that had caused, the man known as Black Lightning had welcomed the opportunity to re-unite with his old friend. And with Jay choosing to stick around until Jennifer was brought back, he'd even been instrumental in helping the Freeland Police catch Lala much to the man's immense ire.

Well, that and secretly Chief Lopez's due to her issues towards Meta-Humans and would be one reason why more thorough background checks would start to be implemented later on to keep those with bigoted views towards Metas and other groups from gaining too much power. Not that it would be a full proof system for a good while until the kinks were finally worked out. Lopez would also be none too pleased when Team Freeland would reveal, with proof, that Lala and his own had nothing to do with the death of Mayor Billy Black. But regardless of that, the man wasn't allowed free due to his numerous crimes. Something that couldn't be looked over regardless of his own involvement in the war to help save Freeland. And when the Particle Condenser finally did its thing and brought back Jennifer, Team Freeland and Jay would get quite the shock when a completely different Jennifer came out of the Pod. "Its entirely possible her powers also include the ability to change her appearance. Or perhaps this is an unexpected side effect of the Crisis and we've gained a Jennifer from another Reality because of it." Theorized Jay as the group discussed the situation.

"You know, that situation is one I'm still not clear on and would love to know more about. But that's a discussion for another time. " Gambi added with Jay nodding.

As Jefferson and Jennifer had mentioned bits and pieces here and there to him and the rest of the family thanks to the fact they still had their memories of what was apparently before the Crisis had happened. And the whole thing was fascinating to him. "I'll head back to Central and discuss it with the Team there and see what they may have to say. Maybe even reach out to Supergirl and her Team as well since they had dealt with some Refugees from that whole situation."

Gotta love having a secure database that contained each Team's histories and the like even if he did have some misgivings about it. Jefferson and the others nodded in appreciation. "Don't be a stranger. As it is, I'm sure the girls would love to learn more from you." Jefferson told him as the two shared a handshake and some smiles.

Nods from Anissa, Grace, and even the changed Jennifer each gave eager nods of agreement. "I'm happy to come back any time old friend. And a chance to teach the newer generation is one I'm always willing to take when the opportunity is presented."

And with a tip of his hat, the smiling man was gone in a flash. "That is still SO cool to see." Anissa said in awed praise.
