All Those Little Things
Kyo put the shopping bags on the table. He had met Tohru earlier as he was coming home from Kazuma's dojo. She went shopping and Kyo had offered to help her. Tohru walked into the kitchen and put her apron on.
'I'm going to fix dinner,' she said.
Kyo nodded. Yuki and Shigure had still not come home. Kyo blushed thinking he was alone with Tohru. Since she had seen him in his true appearances and she had accepted him, he felt like the weight he had on his heart was lighter. With Tohru, he could breathe again. Life seemed a little more beautiful to him, thanks to her.
He looked at her. She had her back to him and she had already started work. He could hear the knife on the chopping-board while she cooked the vegetables. Kyo approached her.
'Do you need help ?'
Tohru looked at him, surprised and she smiled.
'You can cut the carrots.'
Kyo nodded and started work. He tried to take care to cut regular pieces, as Kazuma had taught him. After a while, Kyo noticed that Tohru was watching him and she was smiling.
'What ?' he asked, embarrassed.
'You are really talented. I am impressed.'
'I'm not that talented.'
Kyo blushed. He was not used to people compliment him. Tohru's words warmed his heart. They continued to cook in silence, enjoying this moment together. Kyo told himself that he would like to spend the rest of his life like this, with Tohru. Doing simple things, but as long as they did them together, that was enough to make him happy. He wanted to enjoy the time he had left to do all these things with Tohru.
Suddenly, the calmness was broken by an annoying voice.
'You look like newlyweds,' Shigure teased them.
Kyo jumped and almost cut his finger. He and Tohru blushed. Kyo glared at Shigure.
'Shut up !'
Shigure laughed, Kyo stopped himself from not hitting him and Tohru did not dare to look up, she did not want to show her embarrassment. Shigure left, still laughing. Newlyweds, Kyo thought still annoyed. Idiot ! He smiled slightly. Curiously, he liked this idea.
