RISING OF THE (POSSIBLY) OMNIPOTENT ZENO
A/N: Instead of continuing with whole Myne/Malty thing, I've decided to just go with Malty.
Chapter 4: Pecking Order
"Bring me that ass!" -Some guy
For a moment, the throne room was silent, and nobody moved. Then the moment passed, and all hell broke loose. The nobles, castle staff, and the rest of the civilians were screaming in terror and trying to flee while the the guards did their best to restore any semblance of order possible. King Aultcray Melromarc XXXII stared in horror as he finally began to realize why the four heroes feared Zeno so much. Malty was hugging Zeno and begging him to forgive her father. The four cardinal heroes were prostrating themselves before Zeno while begging him to spare them and the rest of the world from his wrath. As for Zeno himself, the pandemonium quickly wore down his patience.
"Stop, or I'll kill you," Zeno warned again, only this time everyone listened.
For a few moments, everything was silent once more. Then Zeno did something completely unexpected. He turned around to face the door to the throne room and started walking towards it, but not before motioning both Naofumi and Malty to follow him. The two stared dumbly at Zeno before pointing at themselves in disbelief.
"Yes, you two. Let's go, I'm bored," The omni-king replied while pointing at Naofumi and Malty.
For the third time in the last fifteen minutes, silence filled the throne room. Then Malty and Naofumi blanched.
"Does he even understand the situation?" Malty mumbled.
"Somehow...I doubt he even cares," Naofumi muttered in response.
Then they glared at each other with nothing but hatred in their eyes. However, neither of them wanted to risk upsetting Zeno by going against him, so they begrudgingly followed him.
"Just stay out of my way and don't talk to me, you bitch," Naofumi growled at Malty.
"Same to you, shield devil," Malty huffed.
Having come to an agreement, the two began to follow the omni-king. Before they could leave, however, someone called out to them.
"H-Halt! Where do-"
"All right, listen up, maggot! Zeno's about to teach you the pecking order. First there's you, then the dirt, then the worms that live in the dirt, Popo's stool, kami, Popo...then Zeno. Any questions?" The omni-king explained to the king, cutting him off.
Aultcray was too shocked to speak at the moment, so Zeno took the man's silence as a no. A moment later, however, the king shattered that notion.
"How dare yo-AIYEEEEEEE!" King Aultcray Melromarc XXXII let out a girlish scream as he was backhanded out of one of the castle windows by the omni-king.
"Enjoy the climb back, bitch!" Zeno called out to the king. "Now...anymore questions?"
A weak noise that was somewhere between a groan and a whimper was the only answer that the omni-king received.
"Good. Now...bye!" Zeno said before he, Malty, and Naofumi exited the castle together.
