Just a short interlude to look back at the Ultra Dimension.

Interlude

Histoire didn't sweat much, she had seen too much over the centuries to sweat when someone gave her a nasty look. Noire, Vert and Blanc's angry looks were easy enough to ignore as she gave them a stern look back.

"Where are Plutia and Peashy?" Noire asked as she crossed her arms and tapped her fingers against her arm. "They've been missing for days now, Histoire."

"You know that a CPU disappearing for a few days isn't anything new." Histoire countered. "I'm sure that they'll be fine."

"If they were going on a quest that involved killing any monsters, we would have been contacted." Blanc pointed out. "The only person who knows what's going on is you."

"And even if I did, what good would it be to tell you?"

Noire slammed her hands on the desk. "Dammit, Histoire!" The book fairy didn't flinch and she sighed. "Where are they?"

"Even if I told you, there's no way for you to get to them."

"They're not in Celestia or the Netherworld, are they?" Vert asked and Histoire didn't answer. "Histoire, please," she gave the book fairy a pleading look, "they are our friends."

The book fairy finally sighed and nodded to herself. "Very well... If you must know, they were given a chance to bring Neptune back."

"What?" Noire asked, her pupils shrinking. "Histoire! You know that Neptune was looking forward..." She trailed off and sighed. "Though I'd do the same thing in their position."

"...Histoire, please," Blanc said softly, "what's going on? We need to know."

Histoire sighed and shook her head. "Very well... A couple of months ago we were visited by someone from another dimension that needed help with a plan that involved Neptune's home dimension."

"Is this a cultist situation..?" Vert asked and Histoire shook her head.

"No, but this is probably no worse than dealing with Artina." Histoire muttered and all three CPUs had dark looks on their faces. "As for what she is, well... I don't know, but..."

"Deal with the Devil situation, huh?" Noire asked and Histoire nodded, looking ashamed. "Dammit... What else could go wrong?" She saw Histoire fidget and she sighed. "Now what?"

"...Ouya and Stadia are missing." Histoire said and all three CPUs openly gawked at her. "If I'm right, they were taken indepedent of Plutia and Peashy."

"Neptune..." Vert said softly, looking troubled.

"She'll be fine." Noire reassured the blonde. '...Neptune, you better be okay.'

Blanc had a troubled look on her face. "...I miss Neptune too, but she wanted to go home, but this is more her home than her home is..." She sighed and turned to leave. "I have to go, our debt payment is due soon."

"Urgh." Noire grumbled in annoyance. "I'd rather have the Mole People ruling us."

"Even as nothing more than a plaything?" Vert asked, though she knew the answer. "Very well... Histoire, please, keep us up to date. We'll try to help keep Planeptune afloat for now."

"Of course." Histoire nodded at them. "...I know you three want Neptune back as well. After all," she smiled at them, "you three all love her."

All three of them blushed, but none of them denied it as they left.

Histoire sighed softly and closed her eyes. "...Even if things don't go bad, what will Neptune choose in the end? Will she come back or will she stay there?"
