Whilst patrol that night hadn't been very eventful- there was an attempted bank robbery, but without alien tech it was almost too easy to take down- Katya's giddiness was infectious and Peter couldn't help but feel upbeat, too.

"Delmar outdid himself this time," He fumbled through bites of his sandwich. It was the same sandwich as always, but somehow it tasted better that night.

"I know right?" Katya agreed, rooting through the open package of Sour Patch Kids between them to grab a blue one specifically. "Maybe he added, like, extra mustard or something."

Peter considered the bite in his mouth. He didn't think that was it, but he didn't argue. But something was making it taste better. He glanced at his phone- it was already eleven, damn.

"It's a school night, and if I'm not back soon May's gonna freak out." he muttered, reluctant to even bring the topic up. Katya sighed.

"I guess I"ll call Happy, then."

"You could just stay over." Peter told her, surprised his face wasn't going as red as he'd expected. She'd already done it so many times already that it wasn't unusual.

Katya seemed to consider this."I don't have any clothes, though."

Peter glanced at what she was wearing- his Midtown sweatshirt and leggings, her typical outfit- "I mean, that's fine, but we can always fix that, too." This time he felt his face go hot. "You should bring some over, I've got room in my closet. And May really likes you."

Finishing her sandwich, Katya nodded. "I could do that." her voice was soft.

Peter grinned. "After our field trip tomorrow, we can head to your house first and grab you some."

"Oh right, the MoMa! I've never been to a museum before-"

"You're going to love it." Not just because the MoMa was a cool museum, but Katya was a lot more interested in this art history thing than he was- even though it was growing on him. But she'd taken to it like a fly to honey, and had already read through the entire textbook. For some reason, Peter wasn't surprised.

Katya leant over to kiss him on the cheek, before stuffing her mouth with a few more Sour Patch Kids. She dusted herself off. "I"ll see you tomorrow then, bright and early, on the bus."

"Yep," Peter said, as she began to climb down the side of the apartment building. He could have easily swung her down, but she seemed to like climbing for herself. "Goodnight, myshka."

"I'll Facetime you when I get home." She told him, before her face disappeared over the edge. "Goodnight, pauchok! Love you!"

Peter reveled in the warmth that had spread in his chest. Her face had long since disappeared over the side, but he still muttered, "Love you too, Myshka."

It felt so great to finally say.
