It was the next day that Master Fu contacted Marinette. He told her that only as a last resort would Cat Noir be available to help her now. He didn't tell her where Adrien was staying or anything more. As hard as it was to think that now she was pretty much alone, made her feel like crying.
"Why did it have to go this way Tikki? Why did Cat Noir have to be so in love with me, that he was jealous. And I can't even tell him that he was only jealous of himself. I can't tell him as Adrien or Cat Noir that I love him now."
Tikki knew it was a lost cause after what happened when Cat Noir was Chat Blanc "Marinette, you do realize how close you and Chat Blanc went don't you?"
With a nod, Marinette told Tikki what she told Adrien. "I know we both confessed our love for each other, Tikki. Still I told Cat Noir we can't continue the love we have. Not while Hawkmoth is still around. Plus he's Adrien's father, even if Adrien hasn't returned home or to school. His father is definitely looking for him." Marinette closed her eyes and sighed. It was so frustrating and sad all at the same time.
With a smile and a hug to Marinette's cheek, Tikki told her. "Don't lose hope, you and Cat Noir are a team. You've been through a lot and I know you'll get through this too. And besides with or without a miraculous, you know Adrien won't stop loving you as Ladybug."
Marinette knew all too well that Tikki's words were true. 'How are we going to win this war with Hawkmoth now, my kitty?'
Days slowly turned into weeks and Adrien was miserable. He missed his lady and with just sitting around doing nothing, Adrien was becoming more and more a victim for Hawkmoth. Master Fu decided that maybe it would be best for Adrien to get out. And so he told Marinette the situation.
"So what should we do, Marinette? Do you think it's wise to visit him as Ladybug?" Tikki asked, from inside Marinette's purse. They we're heading to a secret place to meet Master Fu and Adrien.
"Yes I'm sure, I need to ask him some questions anyhow. Besides, I think my kitty just needs some fun. After all…he's been practically locked up for weeks now. I know what I'm doing Tikki, just trust me."
Master Fu sent Marinette the location where she could meet Adrien and once the sun set Marinette transformed and headed to the location as Ladybug. She was quiet and very careful as she landed on the rooftop. A smile came to her when she saw him sitting on the roof and in his Cat Noir outfit. "So I see my kitty is here already, sorry if I kept you waiting long."
As soon as Cat Noir heard her voice he looked at her with a comforting smile. "Hello Buggaboo, and of course your kitty is already here. As soon as Master Fu told me his plan I was happier than a kitten with a fresh bowl of cream." Ladybug giggled at his kitty joke and took a seat beside him. The moment was peaceful and both of them felt the weight of the events from before slowly fade. "I'm sorry I can't always be by your side, milady. I am thankful Master Fu isn't replacing me though. I couldn't stand the thought of not fighting by your side Buggaboo."
Ladybug rested her head on Cat Noir's shoulder and sighed. "I'm thankful too, my kitty. Even though we can't truly be together as we'd like, at least we know in the end we'll be together. Only it's hard to say how long all of this will last with Hawkmoth. And now I worry about you more than ever, you'll be his main target now." A few tears formed in her eyes, which he gently wiped away with a smile.
"I'm more worried about you now, milady. Once Hawkmoth knows I'm not going to be helping you all the time. I know he'll target you as a well, he'll try to get you to feel something negative and without even knowing it he'll akumatize you. I can't bear the thought of losing you Ladybug."
No matter how hard she tried, Ladybug failed at her word. "I know I told you we had to let go of our feelings for each other. But I just can't, and I know that there's no point in trying to stop you from loving me. So the only thing we can do is end this fight with Hawkmoth."
It was at this time she felt Cat Noir place his arm around her and rested his head on her's. "I know it's something I can't imagine doing. I've loved you since the day I met you, milady. I can't just let it all go, not even if it means I'm in danger. We have the upper hand. Hawkmoth only knows my identity, not yours. And now that we know who he is, why can't we just strike?"
Snuggling closer to her kitty, Ladybug replied. "Because it's the fact he knows, we know who he is now. He has the upper hand just like we do. The only thing is he's waiting for us to come after him. Master Fu told me how miserable you've been this week. We both know Hawkmoth wouldn't pass that up.
Cat Noir nodded. "Yeah you're right, so what's your plan, milady?"
With a heavy sigh, Ladybug said. "I wish I knew kitty, I wish I knew.."
Not far from our two heroes there was another. He was angry and ready to take action, but at the same time he needed to wait for just the right time. "Very soon everything will be in place. Once I know where Adrien is hiding I'll make my move. I doubt Ladybug will be much trouble once I have her kitty in a cage." He started laughing in his normal sinister way.
